This actually works. I have been looking into the issue for almost 3 days. Nothing worked. But finally, It worked. I am using Blender 4.2 cycles. Thank you so much for the tutorial
great tutorial, can you please make tutorial for the lighting setup you have used?
Doesn't seem to work if you connect the output value of another node to the input value of falloff. In other words, the falloff can't be driven by another node's value.
Thank you so much
God, It working, thanks!
Hi i love you app, a guys recommended me but can you drag pic on an usb ? Or on another computer and keep tag on it ? Thx for the app😅
Doesnt work for Blender 4.1 Cycles
It still works. The Set Alpha node has a mode now, change it from "apply mask" to "replace alpha".
@@hpus4782 what format do I render in?, when I try .png with RGBA but it comes out more whitewashed?
If I were to bake high poly textures onto a low poly model. should I do the vertex painting with textools on the high poly mesh? since those are the textures being baked onto the low poly?
i assume if I baked the LP models ID map with that, it would be pointless as it would be overridden, but I may be mistaken, let me know :)
Yes you would want to do your colour ID map on the high poly, and bake it down onto the low poly :)
@@WilsonDigitalDesign thanks!
Can I also create an ID map for my highpoly mesh and use it in substance on my low poly? I want certain things on my bake to have different materials/colors but its not actual geometry on my low poly. Get what I'm saying?
Yes totally! It's a great way to reserve detail without using extra geometry :)
thanks
Hi @WilsonDigitalDesign - your tutorial is a fantastic resource for the 3D community, and we've added it to a playlist on our channel so others can learn from you. Keep up the great work!
Thank you!! I'm more than flattered.
Thanks Bud I owe you one!!
Not working
ive been thorugh many pages and tutorial and this is the only way it worked! thank you!
Hallo, ich bin nur hier, um zu sagen wie sehr mir deine Version aus dem 3D Wettbewerb mit den Kugeln gefallen hat. Very nice
Allusion web Clipper is not at goole anymore ?? I cant find it
Me neither😢
Using human born to usu to scale
when you save this image as PNG, will there still be a glow/bloom spillover on the edges of the sphere meeting with the transparent background?
Great video! Really needed
Great video! This topic is not talked about often enough, although probably many artists struggle with it. Maybe this information is useful for someone: when it comes to creating the folders for the projects, I always start in Blender, even if I might not need Blender for a specific (then mostly personal) project at all or only at the end. The reason for this is the free add-on Super Project Manager, which takes care of creating the folder structure (including subfolders) for me. You can create different templates and choose which one you want to use for a new project. For example, if I create a portfolio asset in Plasticity or Clo3D that I'm not going to finalize in Blender, I don't need folders like export and Blender files, so I created a separate template for those apps. I let the Super Project Manager create the folders and then just switch to the appropriate software. By the way, the app Connecter can be easily combined with this workflow. Nothing against Blender's asset browser (Connector even integrates with it if you want), but Connector also offers the ability to collect projects from other apps for centralized viewing/searching, and I can integrate different folders whether they are directly on one of my computers, on a network-connected cloud storage or on a NAS. It has powerful features, e.g. sharing assets, finding duplicates, and many more.
Doesn't work.
i was looking for some veins over a brain tissue material, i was noise/mapping>(vetor)musgrave> but your noise>voro/voro seems far less intensive on processing thanks for the nice tutorial!
8:47 for organic materials consider using subsurface instead of transmission for extra realism, subsurface will "put" a color under the surface (in the 4.01 the values are in rgb but you can put a color node on it and select like older versions), transmission phisicaly is apropriate for homogenic materials like wax, of course you can use one instead other, but for organic "alive" stuff subsurface give a tonal variation, like some deep color noise around the color you picked, while transmission allows light from the scene to converge thru the object bouncing to the camera, thats why the color "get better", it actually simulates some fresnel.
The reason you make every aspect of the 3D art in the 3D software is because it shows what you can actually do in 3D. Adding touches in Photoshop afterwards is lying.
Nup, in the real world no employer wants you messing about in 3D software if you can do what you need in half the time in compositing or editing. For one, colour correction is a step often overlooked by beginner artists because people think what comes out of the rendering engine must be the final image. Sure, if you're making a portfolio piece about hard surface 3D modelling and you Photoshop in all the details, then that IS lying. But there are lots of times when adding final touches in Photoshop is required. Think adding people in architectural rendering, doing sky replacements or even using different rendering passes to separate features in your scene.
1:11 I liked the one on the right because of the detail. The one on the left was bland.
Wilson, Thanks. You opened up a world of posibilities
This is great thanks
Thanks, man! Very helpful tutorial✊🏻
Does it still work in the Blender 3.6? cuz even if i converted from materials to vertexpaint, it's not being baked at all. (materials are not disappeared)
Yes it should work
2:13 when you click on voronoy texture it connects to we’re? Why leave out those types of details? then later in a few seconds it switches again, you need to explain all of this man this is what makes a good tutorial a bad one remember almost you’re whole audience is new in blender we do not know the shortcuts like u do so imagine the frustration of having to follow the tutorial with all kinds of wholes in it.
Doesn't seem to work in Blender 4.0
Yeah, but how do you USE material ids in Blender?
Well considering this is a video about USING colour IDs you'll have to go elsewhere 🤔.
Hello Wilson, I was following your tutorial, but I am not able to material preview like you did in the video. What do you think the problem is? Thank you.
hey Can you believe that I'v being studying 3D art and working with it for the last 7 yeas, and I still make all of this mistakes, and I think you gave me all the reasons why I don't stand out! thanks m8 great video! 🙂
This was very clear and informative and easy to follow, thankyou!!
Glad to hear it. Thanks
can you do it without baking color id ? because i saw someone just assigning colors to high poly model with no baking nor UVS he just UVs lowpoly
Help Ukraine 💛💛💙💙
This has been the best one I've seen so far but I'm still wondering how the heck do I differentiate between reusable assets, regular artwork or traditional or, I may just be overthinking and I'm not able to see an answer or find a structure that fits for me, I know it's good to decouple but I tend to reuse artworks or animations in videos, software or games so I end up with duplicate redundant files, I'm going crazy
I get you! It can be a real pain to look for something only to realise you trashed it a while back. I keep everything, but that's only because I have the storage to. If you can separate into projects, and years. that works for me. Then in a separate folder all together, have you're assets you will reuse. Make sure to pack all your blend files once you're done with a project. Too many times have I come back only to realise file names have changed and everything missing. If you're unsure if you want to reuse something, keep it anyway (if you can) and then if you do use it again move it into your folder for assets. Hope this helps!
Great video, thanks for the tips
Absolutely brilliant ! Thanks
You are using the Emit Channel, but my object is glowing because of the HDRI. So i cant use this technique. " setting Maths/Add to 0, Set Alpha to 'Replace Alpha' and don't forget to make sure you are outputting RGBA not just RGB ....boom" is working but not really, the effect i really suttle instead of a high glow what i shown to me
Nº4 should be rule Nº1! 2:34 looks much better to me (washed out) Nº5 is very important as well!
Thanks a lot for advices
most people: 70% open 30% detail Ian Hubert: switch those numbers baby!

Excelent - love it!
Exactly what I was looking for, thank you!
Great to hear!

Use git for your projects and you have a version control and a backup system in one.
