Ergon GA2 bike grips! First impressions and installation.
มุมมอง 4.9Kปีที่แล้ว
I got the Ergon GA2 grips in the mail today! In this video I check 'em out and install them. The GA2 grips are for "All-Mountain" mountain biking. So essentially they're made for any type of riding (trail riding, MTB touring, etc). They're very grippy, ergonomic, and feel great while riding. Highly recommend them! If you have any questions, please ask in the comment section. Happy shredding!

2016 Santa Cruz Bronson First Impressions Review
มุมมอง 21K8 ปีที่แล้ว
In short: It felt exactly like a 5010, but heavier, and with more travel. First impressions: The frame felt sturdy and stiff. The suspension felt good, bottomless, nice ramp up, no harsh bottoming. It felt much heavier than the 5010, the Bronson weighed in at 29.75 pounds (with my heavy pedals on it). My Kona Process 153 is about 31.75 pounds, so 2 pounds difference. I'm not sure what the 5010 ...
2016 Santa Cruz 5010 First Impressions Review with Fox Float DPS
มุมมอง 31K9 ปีที่แล้ว
I own a Kona Process 153 DL spec, and I'm wondering what other bikes feel like. In short, I thought that the Santa Cruz 5010 was a nice bike. I would really call it a great 50/50 bike: 50 percent climber, and 50 percent descender. I'm definitely going to try out the Santa Cruz Bronson, as I felt that the 5010 wasn't enough of a descender for me.

2015 Kona Process 153 DL Review
มุมมอง 24K9 ปีที่แล้ว
In short: The bike climbs nicely, and descends like an All-Mountain bike should! After demoing the Process 153 (non-DL), I bought the 153DL. I've been riding it for 2 months, and I dig it! Here are some of my thoughts on it. Hope this helps anyone thinking about getting a Process 153. There is some riding footage at the end of the video, demonstrating the shifting, and general quietness of the ...

2015 Kona Process 153 First Impressions Review
It would be difficult to balance my a7pro as it's a step through design, is there a stand for this type of bike ? and it's heavy at 77lbs.
Good video. Would like to point out you actually mounted the top bracket backwards. The way you have it in the video you're effectively putting more strain on the bracket because you moved the pivot point away from the vertical pipe and closer to the load (bike). Just my five cents. Thanks for the video.
I'll have to take a look!! Thanks for letting me know. I remember getting confused when setting up the stand.. Thanks!

Decent looking bicycle - workshop stand as it securely clamps the frame, as opposed to the seatpost, that some cycle shops use. 💪😮👍

How much weight dose it hold

Dt swiss isn't recommended to put too much grease on Ratchet system this may provide to engagement problem or destroy Ratchets
thank you for the video man, was not sure if a mallet was the answer
After i tap the rebound bolt and try to undo it, it just spins and doesn't undo so no way of taking the lowers off 🤷♂️

This is more of a how to take apart and put together vid. Didn't see that you added grease at all. Most importantly I was looking for how much you used.
Well, okay, I guess. I have a similarly designed one and honestly wanted to return it but I kept it past the return date. A very unwieldy contraption; noticed you didn’t show lifting the bike and clamping your bike down in the stand. Gotta have everything lined up otherwise the stand keeps moving away from you. It also seems like you have to hold the bike with one hand/arm and use your other hand to finagle around with the quick release turning and twisting it to get the right opening and tension to close tight enough to hold the bike where you want it. The heavier your bike the more of a pain in the butt it is. I would not recommend any stand setup like this one. Looks cool but the functionality will result in a lot of frustration!
Great bike stand for those wanting to work on their carbon fiber pedal bike.
I would be very careful about over greasing the ratchets. Use a very light grease and very little. Too much can cause the ratchets to stick in their toothed bore and skip. More of a potential issue with the higher tooth count ratchets. I damaged my 36 tooth probably from too much slick honey. My shop replaced them but said that they have seen a few damaged ratchets from that.
I miss my sb6😢
I bought one about 5 years ago. The plastic tube clamps break. I drilled a hole in the main tube and use a bolt to keep it up. The 2 legs are not as stable as the 3 leg kinds. Its fallen a few times. The bolt for the main clamp pulls thru the plastic. Its ok for a year or two but thats about it.
Nice video, but you didn't show which parts you actually applied the grease on. Was it on the two ratchet rings?
Yep lol
During initial assembly make sure to use the two same sized allen wrenches to remove the REAR bolt on the clamp support bracket, the CLOSED hole on the clamp goes here. The OPEN notch goes over the skewer. No need to rotate the vertical post.
I can't get the back lever and a little thumb activated unlocked mechanism to move whatsoever. You need to use this in order to swivel the clamphead and I can't get the thing to un lock.
Purchasing a similar bike stand...from Bikehand. As for the handlebar stabilizer. The one end goes on the the clamp arm (not the seat post) the other end goes to the bar. To latch it around the handle bar it's easier to wrap the tab around the bar and pull the tab end as it stretches to one of the holes. Repeat the process to attach on the clamp arm. It is very useful to have the handle bar stabilizer...especially when bleeding the brakes.
Yep, Bikehand. I have that too. Pretty solid.
I got it a few days ago. Works great.
why didn't you take the hub apart without taking the cassette off?
Because I'm an idot lol. I realized that I could do this without taking the cassette off later on.
Cool
What name brand is that bike? And where can I find it ?
It's a Yeti SB6. I'm not sure where you can pick one up in your local area. Yeti should have dealers listed on their website (yeticycles.com). They're awesome bikes! Let me know if you end up getting one!
Needed this video today!
Stoked that this video is still helpful out there! 🙌
Good review bud thank you ❤
Thanks man!! 🤙
Der montageständer ist bei mir nach 1 Jahr kaputt, würde ich nicht mehr kaufen.
Totally agree with the usefulness (uselessness) of the front lock down. I just use a bungee. Otherwise, it's a decent stand for the money, and I do like the tool tray.
any updates? still works well?
Still working perfectly!
@@SlightlyRadMTB Good to know, got a gift card for Xmas and need a stand, this fits!
Hey, which hub is that? And with how many teeth? I think you're horny loudly. Mine is a Newmen ratchet but somehow yours sounds much better. Thank you very much great video. Greetings, Steffen
Have you used this to wash your bike? Any parts rusting out?
I don't use it when washing my bike. I just lean my bike agains something when I wash it. I put it in the stand once it's ready to be dried. You're right, it would probably rust.
I have washed on the stand. The stand itself is fine. Only place I've seen rust was from the bolt on the handlebar brace. Now I just make sure I hit it with the leafblower and maybe hit it with some WD-40 before I put it away.
I have that same stand and I just use a floor stand to lock the front tire. But that is a sweet bike!
Good idea! Thanks man, it's my dream bike. It was originally a demo bike, and I got it for a decent price. Hopefully I never break it🤞😄
How’s the bike maintenance stand holding up?
It's still working as well as the day I got it!
I'm afraid of lubrication my dicut 240 36t ratchet hubs. Without any grease they are radicouls quiet. Shame to you dt swiss
Hey, what's the exact model of that Yeti ?
2018 SB6
After 5 months of usage how is it holding?
The bike stand is still going strong! For as cheap as it was it's a great stand!
Wow bro you're clamping a carbon frame... Use the seatpost!
The frame is mostly sitting on the clamp. There's almost no clamping going on. Good point though, and thanks for looking out!
@@SlightlyRadMTB Yeah maybe I over reacted but I'd hate to see the Yeti get hurt lol 🤘
I have a carbon frame and considering buying this stand. How stable is it when clamping on to the seat post instead of the frame?
I was about to say the same thing, never do that with carbon, even if it’s light.
@@VicSales53 Sorry I didn't see your comment sooner! It's VERY stable when clamping to the seat post. I just prefer resting the frame in the clamp.
How much end float should you expect in the free hub ?
I'm not sure what end-float is.. I don't notice any wheel-float (side to side) while the wheel is spinning. Feel free to inform me :)
Uh I mean how much does the free hub go in and out ?
@@user-nn4wj8gk9s I don't notice any movement.. The sprigs do allow for some movement and engagement of the ratchet (as far as I can tell).
First time owner of some DT Swiss hub wheels, will definitely do this as the noise is driving me nuts. And I say this coming from a set of Hope Pro 4 hubs which are notoriously loud, I think the issue is that the DT Swiss hub is much more metallic sounding than anything else I've ridden - and that includes FSA and Fulcrum which also have different pawl designs. On the plus side it's currently making me pedal more, anything to avoid the buzzing noise!
mine is too quiet. i just replaced the grease with chain lube and my pro 4 hubs are still way louder. disappointment.
You dont need to remove the cassette to get to the ratchet
i was thinking the same..:)
I have had this stand for going on a year, use it on a variety of projects working on many different bikes and it works as I hoped it would.I try not to be unnecessarily rough with it and so far has shown no sign of breaking or coming apart. Some sort of stand is an absolute must have for anyone wanting to do any amount of work on bikes at all. I chose this one mostly because it was all I could afford.Hopefully it will stand up until I upgrade to something in blue.I really like how it moves from my winter shop in the basement to the garage or back yard in the spring and into my half-ton when going with bike(s)out of town. So far so good preeshate the vid Cheers. Nice bike btw 👍🤙
I've had the same experience with the bike stand. It's held up nicely so far! Glad it's working out for you too! 🙌🤙
im looking for a stand, how is this thing in gripping bmx bikes?
