I'd love to use an ebike to to get work any back but how the laws are I'm not risking having the wrong one and getting points on my licence, another joke is I've got a full unrestricted motorbike licence and I'm getting quotes of £1200 for a 125cc 🤦

Got an Adjascent question, I saw the "ENGWE Free-size Luminous Vest" on the EU site as part of their 10th Anniversary box, do you know where we can get this in the UK, or failing that can you recommend a bike vest for a "larger" gentleman? All the ones I see are for boney cyclists without any padding, or I can get something heavy duty for builders, but at least it fits me!!!

Many thanks for your excellent and amazingly thorough review of this cool looking and quite remarkable little eBike 👍 I couldn't get over just how quiet and stable it was - even over some of those cobbled streets. And that torque sensor is amazingly efficient - couldn't believe that you managed to get over 40 miles out of such a small battery - especially up those massively long hills. I loved the idea of those indicators, but you made some good points as to how they could be improved. But at the pace that these types of bikes are evolving, it will probably only be a year or two until they all have really good indicators as standard. Thanks also for the trip down memory lane, with your quick tour of Leeds city centre. I studied, and then worked there throughout the 80's - but was stunned by how much of it has changed. Having said that it was nice to see some familiar landmarks including the town hall, old arcades and the LGI (where I used to regularly help out in the nearby St G's Crypt soup kitchen). You even passed within a street of where I used to live with a couple of medical students, right next to student nurses accommodation - wow, Leeds brings back so many amazing memories, but I can't post any of those here...😂 Anyway keep up the great work. And I was wondering whether you are likely to be reviewing the Engwe L20 Boost in the near future - as it sounds near perfect for my future needs (with 75Nm of torque to move my rather large frame up the nearby big hills). Superb indepth review as always. Looking to buy my first e-bike, but more of a long range model. Engwe's lineup looks nice, looking at the X26 (no torque sensor) or the P275 ST (pro model has autoshift which is perhaps not for me). Don't know if they're bringing out any new models soon?

The only reason they come down on E-bikes is that they haven't worked out how to Tax them, yet! I'm looking to get one to get to and from work when it's dry. Using my car FAR less.

You know what my brother just got an ebike only yesterday, he got it to get out of the house and get a bit of enjoyment. But the mad thing was that 3 of his neighbours came out and literally gave him a dressing down, the world is a sad place now with pure jealousy and petty minded folk. These neighbours said you do know your going to lose you disability benifits, why he asked because someone will ring disability and you will lose your benifits. I was dumb founded they themselves are on disability benifits and there saying that they will shop him for going out on his new ebike. It's just sad and pathetic that people can't stand some get a bit of happiness in there life's. But as I said to my brother they have the check to say that to you, yet everyday these same people drug drive the mind boggles no wonder this country is doomed.

750 Walt 28 miles an hour is where it’s at. I think other countries have adopted it you want less congestion pollution et cetera public transport can’t deal with the amount of people we have especially in London I think 750 W is where it’s at.

My argument about the speed limitation is; how can they limit a speed an E-bike to 15.5 MPH and NOT limit car engines to be limited to 70 MPH? just because it can go faster, doesn't mean you will go faster. Infact going slower on a higher power E-Bike just results in a greater range , most people that want to buy a E-Bike want the reassurance that they will have enough power to make the trip, not max the motor out and ride around full throttle do maximum speed! I don't drive and never have, i have heart failure so peddling a push bike is not recommended. so a E-Bike would be great, but not with these limitation. I am forced to use public transport thanks to these laws.

We recently visited Cambridge - which claims the highest level of cycling in the country (with one in three residents cycling to work !) On the downside they also have one of the highest rates of 'recorded' bike thefts. However thefts have evidently dropped by 40% in the last three years due to the council and police working closer together with the community on various initiatives. These include: cycle security awareness days, bike marking & registration (FREE), sting operations and recovering stolen bikes with proactive patrols. Unlike Wakefield there are designated cycle parking points all around the city, as well as mass ones at the two stations. Most of these are not much better than you showed at that college, BUT the difference is safety in numbers (like sardines in a shoal). When you have thousands of bikes parked daily, opportunistic thieves tend to choose the worst protected 'decent' bikes. So as you said, if you can make your bike look much more of a pain to nick than others nearby - you are golden. Walking around I only saw a few eBikes locked up, but was told at the Tourist Info that Cambridge has an increasing number of secure bike parking options, including bike lockers, monitored station parking and cycle parks. People with more expensive bikes can valet park (paid) in one of these run by a bike shop in the main shopping centre - but they also offer 200 free spaces there as well (and storage lockers). So bottom line, I suppose it depends where live and how popular regular cycling is there. Clearly in Cambridge (which is very flat) it has traditionally been a very bike friendly city - so the council HAS to invest in cycling infrastructure and facilities, because so many taxpayers/voters choose to cycle. Having had a heart op (and blown knee) I never thought I would be able to cycle again. But an eBike on proper bike infrastructure is a total game changer, and a real possibility in some places. So in our case we are now seriously thinking of retiring and moving to Cambridge (hence my lengthy post) - so we can swap our car for eBikes and "start living the dream" of getting more active and healthy...
