Beautiful Scenery Of Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks
มุมมอง 51Kปีที่แล้ว
The 2nd of our trips to Yellowstone National Park & Grand Teton National Park, we pick up a few stops from the first movie, as well as a few that are off the beaten path, and less well known. This area is like none other so if at all possible, plan a two week vacation, if at all possible. Otherwise, you will want to return. We have spent 2 trips of two weeks each for a total of 4 weeks and stil...

Destin, Grayton Beach, WaterColor, Seaside, Seagrove, Alys, Rosemary & the Timpoochie Trail. For those of you who prefer a beach vacation to the mountains, Florida's Emerald Coast has a little gem called 30a, between Destin & Panama City, waiting for you to discover. You will have a short 45 minute drive to the big cities for dining and entertainment, but escape the hustle & bustle to relax alo...
We stayed next to Seaside for 45 days in the winter of 2023, I must say this is the absolute best video of this entire area I’ve ever seen!!! Great job 👏 !!!
I promise to return and make a better movie! Glad you are in on the secret! 😉 Thank you very much for the kind words. They, honestly, mean a lot to me! 🫎
Thank you so much for this video!!! Very detailed and showed me everything I wanted to know and see about the Destin area. I have never found anyone that makes videos about places to go and see as well as you have. Thank you, it was so enjoyable!!😊
Thanks so much. We absolutely love this area! We have been twice and plan to return. There is absolutely everything there. Great restaurants, entertainment, shopping, endless things for kids to do if you’re a family, gorgeous beaches sand& water, beautiful little towns along 30a…I can’t imagine not finding what you desire. We did do a little more night activities 10 years earlier! 😂 Now bedtime is 10!!! The moose is getting old! 🤣😂🤣😂
This is my "backyard". We run a team of sled dogs all around the Greater Yellowstone area and every single day I wake up and thank God for letting me live here. What a great "movie" you've made, I've only just begun watching but it's really well made!
I really wish I lived closer to your area. I would make multiple visits to theses parks, every year. It’s funny how random life is. Seeing your glass as half full, is most of the battle. Some could complain about cold, long winters there, but you see the good. I have complained, about how ugly the Great Plains are, and one lady let me hear about it! 😊 She was right, there is beauty in them. I also live half way to everything…East, West, North & South. That is a plus…but I would trade my half glass in Oklahoma, to your half glass in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho. 🤣😂🤣😂 I think I’m a fan of the West! We are headed East this year, to Smoky Mountain National Park. I have never been. I’m sure we will love it, but honestly, I am positive, my heart will always belong to Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks. Banff may come close, we shall see, but the variety in that small area of Wyoming is unmatched, in my opinion. Wildlife, Landscape, Geothermal activity, and my spirit animal…the Moose! Thanks so much for your kind words about my movie. I am a complete novice, but am making efforts to improve and bring better qualities in filming, narration, and structure. The next Yellowstone trip should be even better. The trick there, is not dying until I get back! 🤣 I am targeting 3 to 5 years. Maybe for a retirement present to myself? I will also, within months, circle back a release shorter videos for those with attention spans of less than 3 hours (most everyone)! 🤣 Less about me and my wife, and more about the Parks, as well as how to visit & stay. Have a Blessed life with the critters, and I would love to visit in the snowy winter as well. Our paths may one day cross! 🫎 Anderson
16 hours? Wow., 34 for us. Stayed in Gardiner near the North entrance, which is always open 24/7. 6 days for us, wonderful experience. Also, went to Little Big Horn, which is a must see. Did you actually see any bears?
Hey FA! Thanks for watching! We actually live more than 16 hours away, that was just the first day. 😆 16 is about my limit for a non stop drive. I still think it is practically necessary, to maximize my time in a place like Yellowstone & Grand Teton. We have seen bears. Our best area seems to be at Oxbow Bend area in the Tetons. Purely luck in August. May & June would be best, but the weather is not as cooperative. I say that, as August is the least rainy season, and in my second Yellowstone film, it rained almost 1/3 of the days we were there. 😏 We would get out for about 4 hours, then the rain would move in. We stuck to driving and looking for wildlife, gift shops, and visitor centers, to stay dry. We are going in September next time, to see the fall foliage. First time I went in the 90s, it was September and it was the best, but some of the places are shutting down and I wanted my wife to have an unrestrained first experience, so August it was. Back to bears and wildlife. Early months are best, and I would not waste precious time, staking out a spot. We have done this but it is actually not as productive. In Lamar Valley, you can’t miss on Bison, although you can’t miss them anywhere else either. Wolves, bear, and most anything else, will be very far away as it is a wide valley. I recommend just keeping on track going to each stop, and keep yours eyes peeled. Any traffic jam is a great indicator as well. Bear are everywhere and anywhere. Even Moose are in Yellowstone, but I have had much better luck around the Gros Ventre & Snake River areas in Jackson Hole. I hear, they even go shopping in Jackson! 🤣 So glad you got to go, and I have no doubt it was an amazing trip! I can’t imagine a bad one…unless you find a bear at the wrong time, or pet the fluffy cows!!!🤣😂🤣😂 🫎 Anderson
Hey Moose! 🫎 I once asked a ranger at the Old Faithful Visitor Center how they determined the height of each Old Faithful geyser eruption. She pointed out the window behind her. It was the exact same view you show at 6:49 into this video. That ranger pointed out that big tree on the right in that view and she proceeded to tell me the height of each branch coming from that tree. I guess someone with NPS measures those heights every so often. I really had no idea that’s how they did it!
It’s such a beautiful angel, Old Faithful framed between the giant trees! 🥰
Hey Moose - You probably aren’t aware of this, but at exactly 46:30 into your video, you show a rather large boulder in the Firehole River with two trees growing on it. Every July, someone swims out there and decorates the taller of those two trees for Christmas, as all of the employees of the park celebrate “Christmas in July” every year.
I was not! We saw them decorate Old Faithful Inn this last trip in 2023. It was really pretty. It’s so crazy to see a tree rooted in a boulder. Glad I didn’t miss it. That whole stretch of the Firehole is just beautiful. I can’t wait to return. My wife wants to do September next time and catch the Aspens turning. Even a winter trip in the snow would make me happy! 😉
Question please … what’s the name of that beach at the very beginning of the video?? It’s so beautiful and would love to go. You mentioned several places but didn’t catch the exact town and beach of the condo you stayed at.
Hey otwt! We stayed in a condo called The Palms at Seagrove Beach. It’s the beach our rook overlooked, but I promise, all the beach along this stretch of 30a looks just like this. Just book a spot in any of those towns and you will be happy, beach wise. Really just decide on the type of town you want to be based in. Seagrove is stretched out and basically, decentralized, making it a less crowded area, yet close enough to walk or ride to the other, centralized towns. It’s also very close to the Publix grocery store, as well as a convenience store / gas station. 😉
Magnificent❤
Thanks so much for the words of encouragement. It was beginners luck. I have been listening to all suggestions from all you folks. Next up is Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I’ll try to have the video posted by December or January. I hope to do it justice, and make all you viewers pleased. Thanks for your compliment, sincerely. It means more to me than you know. 🥰 🫎 Anderson.
@@MooseAndersonProductions oh fantastic out neck of the woods!! It is beautiful! You will do it justice!!
Our neck of the woods
@@susanjenkins6628 It has been difficult planning as there is so much to see & do. I’m not sure how it can be done in just a week. We are planning on 2. I guess if you are close, you can just go every weekend! From Oklahoma, I’m gonna make it worth my while! 😉
@@MooseAndersonProductions oh absolutely!! We are very close so I understand the logistics of well planning for a trip this big! I wanted to tell you how very much my husband enjoyed your Yellowstone videos. He lived in the park during summer while growing up. His father worked for the road department in the park. He has many stories about his time there. He is dying of cancer and will never get back there again so I wanted you to know how very very much seeing it all again through your beautiful photography and narritive meant to both of us!!! We or me whomever is still here look forward to more videos and do not be discouraged!!!!
Good information
Thanks Trudy. There is a lot to cover with all these towns. At least I gave a glimpse, at it’s up to the people to decide what works best for them. Everybody is different. I’m dying to go back, but my wife keeps picking mountain vacations!😂 She does want to return, she just hasn’t said. We have plans through 2026, so 2027? I hope! 🤣 I love the area. Even just riding around and looking at the towns & parks. Everything is just soooooo beautiful! 🥰🥰😍😍🫎
Are you sure you are from Oklahoma? You sound like a Yankee transplant.
🤣 Well I can redneck it up, real quick! Thanks Darnell. Part of the reason I narrate, rather than talk live, is I have to work at saying certain things, so I can be understood on TV. Sometimes my Okie slips in and makes it difficult. For some reason, “Bear” seems to be one of those words. I don’t know what it is, but bear, bare seem to be the same word! 🤣
2:49:28 - SADDEST SCENES … “MASKS.”
Yeah they were not good times. 🙁 What a mess!
Excellent video!
Thanks tomgle! I do plan to divide it up into some more specific, shorter ones. 🤣 3 hours can be a bit much! Some scenes are a bit much. I’m just hoping if people get a little impatient, they just fast forward a little bit, like I do. I got tired of trying to plan a trip to these national parks, using 10 minute snips. I hope others might be able to see how much ground can realistically be covered in a day, and use it to plan their own special trip. 😊
When Drew qas developing Old Lincoln Town, my mom had pertinent infornation as an old cowboy ancestor of ours had been involved in capturing Billy the Kid. My boys were elementarycage atvthevtime and loved going in the museum and scourung all the dusplays for our relatives name. Many skiing trips. The horse races. Trips to the casino. I honeymooned there in 1982. Trips with my parents and my aunts and uncles. Trips with my husband and children. Trips with my friends. My last vacation trip there, I took my mom to pay her back for all the times she had taken me. I last stayed in Ruidoso overnight at The Swiss Chalet in March, 2022, coming back from the west coast. The next Labor Day, my son and I drove over from Cloudcroft for a day of shopping and sightseeing. So. Many. Great. Memories! My heart is broken over recent fire and flood damages. I know it will be rebuilt. It's too special not to be. I'm just too old to think.I'll get to see it again anywhere near it's glory of the past. Beautiful Ruidoso - thanks for the memories!
Thanks for appreciating the film ma! It is honestly tragic. Glad I got to see it back in the day. All of these fires over the past, have just been devastating. I wish trees could grow back faster than they do. It will take decades. As far as the locals, I too pray for their loved ones, property, and livelihoods! 😢
Do they have good Doctors
Hi Susie. I moved away from the area in 1979. Back then, they were great, and I am sure that hasn’t changed. People (doctors), are drawn to this area because of all it has to offer. I’m sure this helps attract some of the best! 😉
What camera do you use for the videos?
Hi Be Nice. Mostly a Sony ax53. It has a great zoom and image stabilization. Very compact handheld camcorder. On the truck & hiking, it’s a GoPro. Recently bought a tripod so it should help holding the camera even more steady, especially on zoomed in shots, but what you are seeing is with no tripod. That Sony is so easy to just jump out, and start filming. You will love it. I never have to change the battery in a long day, even though I carry a spare. I use a 256mb memory card, film in 4K, and I’ve never had to use more than 1 in a day. 😉 🫎
@@MooseAndersonProductions thank you. Beautiful footage. Been going to Yellowstone since 84 and haven’t been recently. Will a go pro have a good zoom like the Sony?
@@BeNice524 GoPro has no zoom, but they do have image stabilization and can even go underwater…very rugged. The Sony is more like a camera, but much less expensive. Many videos on TH-cam are taken with cellphones, but I never went down that road. I figure each tool is designed for a purpose and each will excel in its intended design, but cellphones do a wonderful job, just not much zoom. So from no zoom to big zoom…GoPro<Cellphone<Camcorder (Sony). 😉
Good video but your information on old faithful is incorrect. It goes off every 90 minutes.
I know that. Now I gotta go see what the hell I said! 🤣😂🤣😂 I can’t believe I stated otherwise! Good grief! Thanks WMG! Every 90 min, plus or minus a few. 😉
Beautiful …. Thank you ❤
Thank you Margie. I miss it dearly. 🥰
There's lots of shopping in Jackson. Last summer was very usual for Wyoming to get so much rain. Great advice booking ahead for a vacation through Wyoming. I'm a local. Love my state. For the people who like seeing wildlife best time in evening's. During the day, most wildlife likes to lay down out of the heat of the day. Go Big Red! The tram is awesome winter or summer.
You are SOOO lucky to live there with all the mountains. Oklahoma is such a long haul to get there. I could have used that tip about evenings & willows years ago. I almost never figured it out. Though I would never see a moose! I’m convinced, in Jackson Hole, the best way is to patrol the Gros Venter River in the evenings, and watch for one, or a group of people pointing and taking pictures. All that rain was crazy! It’s usually, pretty much, bone dry in August. I rained at least part of the days, for 5 out of the two weeks we were there. I REALLY need to move closer. 2 hours away beats 2 days away! 🤣 Thanks for taking the time to drop a few kind words and I can’t wait to bring you guys some more of my hard earned cash! 😆 Moose Anderson
That lake is on the Mescalero Apache Reservation. Lake Mescalero.
It’s beautiful. The current situation there is gut wrenching. Prayers go out to all the locals! Some I went to school with. Just terrible.
If you are going to have a passion in life this is it. Beautiful nature! I think of all the people who spend their lives at Disney, either in a fake park or overpriced cruise ship. I have never in my wildest dreams understood this. When the true beauty of our country is outdoors. Not in a manufactured park or floating amusement park. Enjoy every second in the great outdoors and teaching your children what is of true value! Yes indeed, even Mr. Crow gets an earful, in most cases, well deserved! 😅😅😅😅😅
I couldn’t agree more! I love the great outdoors. Had to make this 2nd movie as there is just too much in this region to cover in one visit. My wife still mentions places like Las Vegas & New York which makes me cringe. So far, she is not really complaining. I think she is starting to have her world opened up to her. She was a beach person, but now I hooked her with the mountains that I grew up with in the West. I want to see God’s Creations, not man’s creations. I don’t think we have the same skill set as Him!!! 😂 Yes, I am Mr Crow! As I stood there filming, the thought went through my head. What else could it be. 24 years of marriage and I could totally relate. I never understood why as a man. We are angels and never wrong…yet here I often sit, having my ear crowed into…or Ravened? 🤣😂🤣😂 Thanks for appreciating the sarcasm, and my movie Sushi! I’ve got some good trips and movies coming. I wish I didn’t have a day job, but having to wait for a yearly vacation, really helps plan, as well as build excitement about each trip. 😊 Stay tuned. 🫎 Anderson
@@MooseAndersonProductions , I thoroughly enjoyed your adventures and your sarcasm! I’m sure he would argue, he is Mr Crow, it is for his own good 👍 But lovingly suggested. Looking forward to seeing more! Do check out Stan Mills, you will thank me for it! Well done, exceedingly well done!
@@Sushi2735 ohhh Stan pops up all the time in my suggested videos! 🤣 TH-cam has my number! I’m even buying 399 books from Mangelsen! 🤣😂🤣😂 I’m a little biased to Yellowstone & Teton National Parks. I would go every year, but Mrs. Crow would kill me. I’m not complaining. 😊 Looking forward to Smoky Mountains, a return to Grand Canyon, then Banff & Jasper…but Yellowstone & Tetons will be soon to follow! 🥰
@@MooseAndersonProductions oh yes! Banff. Boy I’d love to see your trip there. Grand Canyon, not so much. I can totally get wanting to go every year!!., sorry Mrs. Crow does not agree! Take care, safe and happy travels!
@@Sushi2735 Grand Canyon…like a reverse Banff! 🤣 Thanks Sushi and take care!
I had been coming to Ruidoso all my life as well..I knew I wanted to live here! Coming from flat farmland Plainview Texas! I finally was able to make the move in November of 2022! Took me a lifetime to get here it seems! I’ll be 63 in September 2024. I’m finally home! 🙌🏻👍🏼🎈🎉😁✝️
That’s crazy and shows what a small world it really is. My mom moved from Ruidoso to Dimmitt and lived there forever! My stepdad ran the Case Tractor there. We often regretted moving, but life…it throws curve balls! 😂 My door closed and yours opened! I would love to be there. You’re Blessed! 😊
A month later... I do pray your property was spared by the latest catastrophe. 🙏💔
Thank you so much!!! It’s beautifully done ✅ fantastic job!!!
Thank you Candy. I’d rather you go in person, but I hoped this would fill the gap for those that couldn’t. I had never considered Yellowstone but my mom offered me a free trip to go with her & my stepdad when I was struggling as a young man of about 33. I couldn’t hardly afford an apartment but I couldn’t ask for more as I knew it could be a whole lot worse. I just had faith and worked hard and now things are good. Still no Mercedes or mansion, but not bad for a redneck in Oklahoma! 🤣 Well let me tell you, Yellowstone was amazing and really touched me. Funny story, I skipped the canyon and falls on that trip, because I really didn’t know about Yellowstone. Never even peeked inside of a book or seen any pictures. I had already seen countless waterfalls and canyons in the Tetons and Yellowstone, so I figured I didn’t need to see another one! I had no clue it was actually so massive, and the literal namesake for Yellowstone National Park. I honored my mom in the credits, I owed it to her. It crushed me that she was so far gone from dementia, she saw a few minutes of the movie, but I’m not sure she understood that I was the one that made it, nor if she even knew who I was. I can barely talk about it now. So I will stop! It was a labor of love for both Yellowstone, as well as for the memory of a mother, who Blessed me with a trip to Yellowstone, and being the best mom I could have ever asked for. Happy belated Mother’s Day to everyone, as well as you, even if your only child, is that beautiful, white fur baby in your icon! 🥰 Moose Anderson
I have watched both of your Yellowstone & the Tetons movies over the last two days. Absolutely amazing quality, narration and information. Can’t wait for my turn to visit in September. Thank you Moose.
Thanks Christie and thank you for no crying about the music! 🤣 So since you watched the second one, you have gathered that my wife loves to prowl around and shop. In September, they start to run out of stock on tourist stuff like tshirts and such. The first trip I ever made, was without her. I went in September and although the weather starts to get unpredictable, like all the rain this August could be remotely predictable, September is a great month! We have already discussed why our next trip will be in September. She is willing to forgo a few tshirts, and see the Aspens turn, the risk of smoke decrease, and clear blue skies. It becomes easier to see Moose, Bears & Elk, as they are more active in the cool fall weather. I love September, and so will you! 🫎
could stand it better w/out crappy "music"!
Me too!
The music is so loud, it has ruined the video for me. Best viewed muted! The secenery can't compete with the overwhelming music. Having to switch back and forth to hear the narrator is annoying.
Most people don’t have this issue, but I have heard from 1 other person that did. It comes through great on my sound system?
@@MooseAndersonProductions I also have my Sonos bar set to emphasize voice.
@@destravlr that is not a crappy sound system and I honestly am sorry it plays so crappy but!!! I honestly listen to the smallest voice. 😊 I plan on dropping the music level down further on the next video. I also plan on using a different “royalty free music source.” I will also reduce wind noise and have purchased a tripod to stabilize things a bit. Better is coming, and my apologies for any disappointments. Sincerely! 🫎 Anderson
I actually like the music and can’t wait to visit next Sunday for 4 days! Nice video, thank you
@@tomconley2458 Thanks Tom! I honestly have not heard the too loud issue but a couple of times. Sound systems do vary. Even between TVs with no sound systems. I will try to drop it down just a touch and see if it helps. My first release of this got 425,000 views, but it was not royalty free music so no $$$ for the Moose! I re-released it with this new royalty free music but I have to tell you…finding 3 hours of palatable music is a heck of a challenge! 🤣😂🤣😂
Thank you.I grew up with a cabin here and I am a huge Billy the kid fan.Great,fishing,skiing.
We used to haul them out of the river by hand! Just kids having fun. When we did use a hook, we easily caught our limit! 😁
everything was beatiful except back phone music
Thanks Comp! I promise to work on the music. That’s probably the toughest part on TH-cam. ☹
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Arno and if you haven’t seen it in person, I hope one day you can. It is an amazing place.
Thanks for the video. Never considered that area.
There is a lot of historical sites all around, not to mention the beautiful mountains, trees and wildlife. Thanks for watching Severe! 😊
You sound like Peter Coyote
Thanks Jeff. I really appreciate that. I really hate how I sound, and I have many viewers asking me to narrate more. I am guessing because both 1, they are interested in learning about things, and 2, they hate listening to the royalty free music. 😂 Hearing things like I sound like a well known narrator, encourages me as I do listen to you guys. I will narrate more, I bought a tripod thanks to my friend Don, I’m looking for a better music source and to use less, I take all the viewers comments to heart, and try to improve these videos as I set myself up to transition into my retirement career as I am 63. Noe I just gotta figure out how to live to 100! Thanks for watching Jeff, and know there will be a little bit of you, in the movies that follow!
Beautiful
It’s not a bad place to be! 😉
I just spent the last year planning our summer vacation and these two gems are on the list. Of course our trip is much longer
Very smart planning. I just don’t see how you can wing it and get as much out of it. Drive safe, and I’ll be eating my heart out…literally!
this is crazy. we live in collinsville and our family vacation this year is pikes peak,4 days in yellowstone then mt rushmore . enjoyed and got ideas for our trip. thanks.
It’s a smaller world than one can imagine. Let me know if you have any questions and I’d be more than glad to help neighbor. Boomer! 🤣 And for those outsiders reading this, I just fired a shot across the bough. James and crew handed our asses to us for a final goodbye and good riddance! I know, cause my son is a Poke!
I live close to Yellowstone. Though I've been there several times, I have yet to see everything and never will. Thanks for letting me have the experience through your eyes and lense.
Hi Sonja and it would be soooo nice to live close to a place this fantastic. Obviously my movies are rather lengthy! 🤣 So far I have 2 Yellowstone/Teton movies on my channel, and there is still stuff I have not shown, so I completely agree with you. I have a few other places I have to squeeze in, but there will be a return trip to this area, with new adventures and experiences. No trip to here is ever the same. 😉
I spent four summers working in Yellowstone! 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986. Old Faithful Lodge, Lake Hotel and Canyon Village. Fabulous experiences. I encourage everyone to spend an entire summer in the park. You'll meet great friends from allover our country as well as the world. JUST DO IT!! (Patty)
I am seriously thinking about it for a little retirement gig. Then run from the blizzard at the end of season! 🤣 It is honestly, a place like no other. Thanks for watching Patty! 🫎 Anderson
I made the same trip 20 years ago. You've brought these great memories back. Thank you for sharing such a great video. You made my day. All the best from Poland 🇵🇱
Come back!!! 😊 There are many beautiful places in your neck of the woods too. 😁 Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching. 🫎
Super avventura!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🔝🔝💯❗🙋❗
Thanks for watching Vittor! Glad you enjoyed and I hope you get to go if you have never done so? 🫎
In what general area did you find your moose?? We are about to make our fourth trip to Yellowstone/Tetons and have yet to see a moose!! Thanks!!
Hi Lynne! Gros Ventre road along the Gros Ventre River. In the past, I tried the stake out method, park at one spot and wait for hours. That covers one single spot, in a huge area, so sitting at a place like Blacktail Pond Overlook is akin to winning the lottery. Really the best method is driving, since the actual spot one shows up is so random. Moose love to eat vegetation along rivers and ponds. It’s still going to be random, with a lot of luck, but Gros Ventre seems to be the best bet. Better than Moose Wilson Road, where parking after you see one, can be near impossible. Gros Ventre Road is the road north of Jackson, that goes east from the traffic circle, and takes you out towards Mormon Row, Gros Ventre Campground, Kelley, Slide Lake, and the Shane Cabin. You may get lucky and see a group of cars parked with people pointing and photographing. You may be the only person on that section of road. Just keep your eyes peeled and remember it is luck, random, and you are in a high probability area. Gros Ventre is the best place, followed closely by Native Jewelry in Jackson! 🤣 🫎 Anderson
Look for thick willows. Moose love willows and water. If you want to see a lot of moose guaranteed, go to the Big Horn mountains on Highway 14. Always moose up there. One day last summer, I saw 18 moose from Highway 14.
@@wyomingadventures Great advice and thanks for helping fellow moose lovers. It looks like I’ll be coming through your backyard in 2026 on our way to Banff & Jasper. I’ll keep my eyes peeled through the Big Horn area and Highway 14! Thanks so much for the tips!
@@wyomingadventures cowboystatedaily.com/2024/09/03/absolute-tank-of-a-moose-turning-heads-in-wyomings-bighorn-mountains/ Thought of you! 😁
Did you have a drone following your truck? How did you get this video, it's really great!
Not sure how you can call the Great Plains ugly though...
@@allisonberner5042 🤣 Believe me, this is not the first hit I’ve taken over the Great Plains comment! Technically I live in them. I just prefer mountains & trees. I’m Moose Anderson. 😂 I did have my drone follow me for the opening scene. I’m going to try to use it more as I’m still a rookie, but not bad for 63! I’m still evolving and trying to improve. Thanks for the compliments on my movie. As for those Great Plains, I’ll take our BBQ over any others. Not a fan of Memphis or Carolina style. Now for the punches I’m going to get from Tennessee & Carolina. I’m partial to Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas BBQ. We all have our pluses & minuses, but I’ll trade my BBQ for the Tetons. 😁 🫎 Anderson
Sorry to hear you never made it up to the widow’s walk at OFI. You really missed out on that one! ☹
Thanks Super and yes, I was massively bummed out. Covid really put a damper on the whole thing. In my second movie from our last trip, I accomplished it but barely. I thought it was an unknown thing so I wanted to book it till a month before we went. They only had 1 slot, on 1 day left. And that day hailed & rained like you wouldn’t believe! I filmed it and because of my love of it, it’s rather lengthy, and my dad likes to give me crap saying I got lost up in the rafters for a half hour! 😂 Check it out on my channel. It’s got some stuff in it we didn’t get to do on the previous trip, like the rafters! Got the Beartooth Highway in it as well.
@@MooseAndersonProductions I will check it out - thanks! I am in Gardiner (north entrance to Yellowstone) by the way. 😉
@@Super_Chief 😂🤣😂🤣 You lucky dog! Just rub salt into my wounds!
@@MooseAndersonProductions Hey Moose, don’t get too jealous. Our winters here can be brutal! I just watched the other video. Glad you finally made it to the top! I used to work at OFI, so I could go up there almost anytime - just had to get permission from the bell desk. Sometime, I would like to see you use a tripod in the future to eliminate the sway/shake that you notice in some of your zoom shots. You would be surprised how compact they are making tripods these days. They are not much bigger than that gimbal you are using now. I used a tripod the entire time I lived in Alaska and loved it! 🎥 I usually watch these Yellowstone videos and wind up correcting the person who uploaded them about the misinformation they contain. I noticed your video contained 100% current and correct information. So, it was very refreshing to see an honest/open video out there that is giving people correct information!😁
@@Super_Chief 😂 I kid you not! I just hit the order button on a couple of light weight ones…collapsible. I have a big one, but it’s not convenient to jump out of the truck with, or lug around. Figured I will start stepping up my game and do better. I hate the sway as well and even see it in the wide angle shots as well. I’m a rookie, but the Moose is on the lose! 🫎 😊 Thank you soooo much on the advice. I’m working on a way to reduce wind noise, so I can play less music to cover it up. The royalty free stuff, that I even pay for, is not a big hit with many. Some have asked me to talk more, so more talk, and less music, and no swaying to the music!!!🤣 You are so lucky Super. I hope these compact tripods are stable enough. I think they will be. Otherwise I’ll just unfurl the bigger one, and hope people don’t trip over it. These collapsible ones have a much smaller footprint. I’m not opposed to suggestions. I may even break out my manfroto and see if it would be compact enough. Let me know of any recommendations you think would be a better solution, but with stabilization built into the camera, I’m really hoping they work. I just need a little extra…story of life!
We are heading out to Yellowstone and Tetons in 2 months and this was absolutely amazing to watch!!! What month was it when you were filming this? The park and many trails seem surprisingly void of crowds…
Hi Liene! It was late August. Last year, we went the same month. It is known as the driest month so we don’t have to worry about getting rained out a day. RIGHT! It probably rained for half the day on 5 of our days. ☹ Good old Yellowstone weather…never know what you will get. The park is so big, that once you are in, crowds tend to spread out. Sometimes, you have to be a parking lot vulture, and just circle around a bit. You might lose 20 minutes trying to find parking, but it’s worth it. It’s just luck of the draw. That same parking lot might take the next car 5 minutes. 😂 Don’t fret the crowds too much. June is perfect for babies & flowers. July starts to dry out and days are longer. Every month has its pluses & minuses. You are going to LOVE it! 🥰 🫎 Anderson
@@MooseAndersonProductions Thank you! We'll have some serious vultur-ing issues with parking because we're going in an RV (and no car). 😂 Good luck to us! The weather - that's a whole other issue that's out of anyone's control. We went to Alaska for 2 weeks in June, 2 years ago, and it didn't rain a single day and we had 80 degrees!!! Come next month - it didn't stop raining for the whole month so I heard! It's just luck. Hopefully Yellowstone will be kind to us. Thank you for your amazing video and all the work you put into it!
@@lienepowell8308 🤣😂🤣😂 More like a condor! Lots of fantastic places for camping in an RV. Safe travels, and enjoy. 😊
What a wonderful video, You did a great job filming, It was a pleasure to watch it and it brought back a lot of memories.😊❤ 2:53:14
Thank you Aztec. I’m glad you liked it, and even more happy to stir those memories. In the end, it’s all that really matters. The ones we make, the ones we keep, and the ones we give. 😊
@@MooseAndersonProductions Is quite true,, quite true indeed.🙂
Thank ya, Moose! I enjoyed it.
Thanks Ben for the encouragement. I’m hoping to get better with each film. Still trying to find a way to not get flamed by people for the music! It happens with every film, but I’m pretty sure people would like the silence between narration worse. 🙂 Your compliment is appreciated. I absolutely love 30a, and look forward to returning. The beaches are amazing, but the houses & parks are amazing in their own rights.
UGH!! Please can the distracting music. It adds nothing and is a distraction from the natural beauty.
🤣 I appreciate your candor. 😉
Very good, VERY GOOD!!👍👍 However, the repetitive music is very annoying and completely detracts from your amazing video.
I wish I didn’t have any to be truthful. It was too windy to use audio. I’m not sure what to do with long gaps of silence. Free to use music is horrible. I have been getting requests to narrate more, so I am going to try that on the next film. Unless you have an idea? Any tips will definitely be taken into consideration. Thanks for complimenting my movie, even if the music made you want to puke! 🤣😂🤣😂
This was spectacular❤. I have been there in 1988 and to travel there again through your eyes was stunning!!! Thank you😊😊😊. I agree it is a unique breathtaking place!
Wow! 88! You were lucky not to get caught up in all the fire. So terrible. The place still has not recovered. 😢 Thanks for watching, and a pat on the back…I take it on the chin occasionally. 😂 I prefer the pats. 😁
Yes we were able to see it before the fires hit so may have been 86 or 87. Brain is getting fuzzy😆anyhow yes, there is no place like it!!! Filming was fabulous!!!
@@susanjenkins6628 yeah I’m not enjoying fuzzy. It’s a weird stage in my life. It’s good you saw it then. It is crazy how long it takes a forest to recover from a fire. The Grizzlies like the burn areas, so as with life, when one door closes, another opens. I just can’t remember if I closed the door, or left it open! 😂
My husband, who,s father worked for the parks road department in the summer, lived in Yellowstone as a boy during those months. The whole family lived in a camp trailer. Late 50,s. Boy can he tell you some stories about tourists and wildlife. Crazy!!!! I told him after we visited the park that I wanted to put up a cabin and live near the Madison river. He promptly laughed and said " you won,t like it in the winter when it is 60 below and there is 20 feet of snow." Burst my bubble I tell you😆
@@susanjenkins6628 honestly, I didn’t show any of the Madison River in my video, but we love it and go every time. Not because of West Yellowstone, but because it is such a beautiful river & valley. I think we could deal with the 8 month winter! 😂
🎉
Ohhh I have partied here many times. Young & dumb…but what a ride! 🤣
This will be my 4th summer working in Yellowstone. This summer I will be working the front desk at Lake Lodge. I will have lots of free time to do photography around the park. I'm packing at we speak.
🤣 SURE rub it in!!! I promise you this, if I ever, God Forbid, become a single old man…I’m right there at the gift shop working retail! I would almost do it for room & board alone! 😍
@@MooseAndersonProductions Haha, no need to be single, I have worked with plenty of couples over the years. I have also worked retail in the Mammoth and Lake Lodge gift shops. The pay is about $14 per hour and they take out some for room and board. Yes, I am retired, I am still learning photography, hope to get better this summer. I enjoy your videos. Cheers
@@billbeverly2864 ohhhh believe me! I have been looking at the online job postings. I have hi hopes! Park Junkie has worked at Lake Hotel. I have really enjoyed his videos. I’m kind of “ate up” with Yellowstone. 😁 You are very lucky buddy! Enjoy!!! Next time I come through, I’ll look you up. Promise.
Would love you to show the menu at these locations.. Thank you for sharing
Hi Debra! They have the menus online on their websites. I have tried filming them, like some TH-camrs, but I felt the quality was just not as good as viewing them online. I also don’t like feeling rushed reading them, where as online, it is a more leisurely process. I’ve tried filming the food too, but half the time, I’m half a plate in before I think about it! 😂 I also have to learn how to make a movie under 3 hours! That would allow for more menus & food. I just feel like I’m playing the TH-cam algorithm and that feels like playing the money game. ☹ To be honest though, I’m not sure you could go wrong at any place to eat on the gulf. Even a hole in the wall can be a seafood haven!
Great Video,Great Job, thank you ❤ Greetings from Germany 🤠
Very kind words Hubert. Thank you. If I ever fall into money, I would LOVE to visit your neck of the woods! Yellowstone is on the edge of my comfort zone as it is quite far from where I live, and a having a captive audience, it’s a challenge keeping costs down. It might just be cheaper to vacation Eur way! 🤣 See what I did there? Very witty for an old redneck from Oklahoma! Thanks for taking the time to pat me on the back sir. I honestly appreciate it. 🫎 Anderson
