How to clone windows hdd to ssd the FREE and easy way! (Read description for 2023)
I've got an '06 Chevy, Z71, 4x4, extended cab, 280,000 + miles. Rough shape but it did drive good until the fuel tank almost fell out & the frame cracked. Repairing it I found the frame pinholed. As of now it's sitting & I'm thinking on how much I could spend on it. We're talking a used frame, used rear axle & some body work. I loved this truck before this happened & really hate letting go but think of how much all of that could cost?
Good Job on the build young man. keep up the fun videos. dale
I am surprised to be the first one to comment on your video sir. Looks like you put a lot of time and effort into this. I think it will be a fun boat for you. I had a 14 foot trackers for quite sometime and it looks very similar to yours. I had a 5 HP on it and it still runs like a champ. My buddy down the street from me has it now,. We want out in it the other say, last Thursday and I was able to teach him how to use his new boat. He has never owned a boat and he picked it up quickly. On your trolling Motor, I think you may be able to cut that shaft down to help you out with it being too long, Might check on it, but a lot of them can be cut down some. I did notice the alligator, How fun, your mom did that. Awesome she did a great Job. Thanks for sharing this build update and tell your mom she did a great job on the gator. Keep up the fun videos. Dale. PS subbed you as well.
Thank you for your kind words! Building and customizing things so that they are unique to me has always been one of my passions. I will most definitely look into the cutting down the trolling motor, that had never occurred to me before. These are awesome and fun boats no matter what you do with them, I’m glad your buddy was able to buy yours! Thank you for your support on the channel, I primarily do it as a way to help people with their own builds and projects! I’m glad you liked the alligator, it’s one of my favorite parts of the boat! Have a blessed day!
Back of the cab has damage due to the bed smashing into it when it was hit.
Nice truck..they last forever if we take care of them...2003 is still going well and looks pretty good.
@@williamcolson3765 absolutely! They’re built like tanks, easy to work on, parts are readily available, thousands of how to videos and tons of advice. That’s why I’m keeping mine and don’t mind dropping a couple of hundred bucks on it every so often. 2006 RCLB
Overload shocks aren’t the best idea . The shock mounts aren’t designed to carry weight. I would go air bags or like you said add a leaf or all new spring pack. Just my thoughts but otherwise nice work truck. 👍🏻
I see, I’ll have to look into that. I’ll see how it does stock and if it’s an issue I may look into bags or add-a-leaf
Love the setup bub!
after seeing this video and another guy in the comments saying he had one for only 2k i feel like i got ripped off for buying a 07 colorado (not silverado) for 2.5k it seemed like a decent deal with everything working and it had 108k miles but idk now 😅
No not at all. I’d say mine and the other guy you mentioned would classify as really, really, good deals (borderline steals). I had an ‘04 Colorado with 240k miles that I paid $4,250 for and sold for 5k. Paying 2.5k for own with 108k miles sounds like a heck of a deal to me.
Great truck !
Thank you!
About to slap mine on a 12 foot V hull I’ve been restoring. Does your cavitation plate match your transom bottom?
It sure did. As long as its s short shaft and your transom is for a short shaft you should be good.
@@NC_outdoorsman nah she measures 17” and my long shaft motor is 19”. Gonna make an extension off the top of the transom and bring them to match each other
@@74nova36 I’d say a jack plate wouldn’t hurt anything but you should be fine. I’d research it a little more but I wouldn’t think any major issues would occur.
Nice truck I always liked the cat eye trucks
Thank you!
Keep an an eye on your reared mine went bad after I was hit in my Silverado and it started to make a noise
I'll have to keep that in mind. Thanks!
Thanks bro
Thank you for that.
Just paid 13 OTD at a small dealer here in Cali. It’s a 4 door 4.8 with 130 miles. It was on par for what’s on market place. You got a steal for 2800 bucks
Good purchase, damage on a truck is ok, just gonna get used anyway, this way you dont have to worry about messing it up.
My thought exactly!
Greensboro, NC Acedemy Sports had three trailers on the sidewalk Sunday when I was there.
I’ll have to look into that!
Great Video, I would like to see how you going to repair the rear damage
Will be posting on that soon!
My trailer came new with my 2024 Lowe 1440M, so taking a look at the Acedemy Sports trailers which was on sale for $799.99 recent! I could tell my trailer was another level above those just the way the frame is made, I would still buy an Acedemy Sport trailer because it should be easy to get a title for it being brand new.
I looked at those but sadly I couldn’t get ahold of one. They were either out of stock or on back order.
What ah battery are you using?
So you just have it wired directly to a battery to splices or anything else? I have a 12ft Jon boat & need a trolling motor I just wanna know if I can hook it up directly to a battery without having to add all these extra things to it
Yeah as long as your cables reach the battery then your good. I just extended my wires because I wanted the battery in the back for the time being.
How long does the battery last you while fishing?
@@moisesramirez7898 I don’t troll a whole lot but the battery has never gone dead on me and I’m consistently out for half a day or more.
Do yourself a favor and change all the fluids I have an 03 11600 miles
Will do, I appreciate it 💯
Great post Thank you ..
Great Post, TY... so straight pipes? no Cat Converter ? don't need one in NC please explain, I have 2005 WT that I'm currently working on. and what did the lift cost you?
At the time this video was made I had it straight piped, it did not have the second cat converter but still had the one just off of the manifold. In my county in Nc it isn't required that you have a cat, but it might be closer to the city's. The lift is 70-100 dollars on ebay, its just shackles and a tortion crank. Later on I did do a DIY body lift using hockey bucks that was about $65 and gave me a little over an inch more lift.
I just got a 2005 Silverado 1500 (floor shift) 4x4, 2 door long bed, with 157k on it and it’s a work truck model as well. Had to replace the back 2 frame cross members and weld in new ones (got from eBay), and primed & painted the back half of the frame, and just put in Bose door speakers from a Suburban from the junkyard. By far, one of the best daily/work trucks I’ve ever had!! The best part, only paid $2000 for it 6 months ago. Plus, I have a 2005 LLY Duramax that I have as well that sits at home to tow our camper on the weekends or for long, far away camping trips.
they are awesome trucks, and the amount of aftermarket/swapable parts is even better!
I just paid 6 for an 04 2500 hd 6.0 with 185k on it,I’d say you got a pretty good deal.
I sure did but it sounds like you did as well!
@@NC_outdoorsman I thought it was pretty average priced until I got on marketplace and saw what everyone was wanting for older chevys. Very happy with the truck and price
@@lordserpentine8246 it seems that they get more expensive every day.
I'm about to have 33's on cadillac escalade stocks, with 2 inch spacers and badland industries lift and ball joint spacers 😊
Thats gonna look sick! Ive heard great things about the ball joint spacers.
Very nice, only recommendation I would say if to replace the front deck with aluminum. Lighter and stronger for you and your boat.
The wooden casting deck was meant to be temporary but ended up doing very well. I’ll definitely look into aluminum in the future, especially since it is lightweight.
Should be fine for my single cab 91 Nissan pickup. The 7w per channel tape deck at max volume even with new speakers was too quiet at highway speed especially on concrete. Listen to podcasts and books 90% of time any way so bass is moot point
It should do fine especially if you don’t have tires or an exhaust that’s too loud.
Hey man I have one of those trucks and I have a mint condition folding center console. I had just replaced the lid on it but I found a steal on a full center console. I can give it to you super cheap if it would help you out. It’ll just sit in a corner otherwise.
Also I’m about to order another set of fog lights to match some new headlights they’re not perfect but you can have those for free probably can wire them up to an aftermarket switch
Heck yeah that would be awesome!
@@NC_outdoorsman bro I haven’t forgot about you. The dude I was buying the console on flaked and everyone else wants crazy numbers. Soon as I find one I got you still lol
@@Guero_c7 all good man!
I have the same unit I’m installing for a client so how do you remove the trim ring around the stereo? Not the bracket cage, but the trim ring
For the trim you put the parking brake on and the shift it into 1st gear. Then the dash trim just pops off with clips.
@@NC_outdoorsman not the bezel. I’m referring to the trim ring piece around the stereo unit. Not the truck part
@@ernie0699 oh I see. The best I recall is that there are tabs that hold it on. You can bend those tabs and pop it right off.
@@NC_outdoorsmanwe ended up getting 2 different dash kits for the truck to see which one would the radio fit correctly on and we got it installed. Thanks for your helpful responses
@@ernie0699 of course! Glad it worked out!
Good on you. Frame OK underneath?
It has some light service rusted here and there but otherwise it’s totally fine.
What lift did u have on this?
A shackle/tortion crank, but later on I added a 1” body lift as well.
Looks real nice, and dang what a price. 👊
Thank you!
LA FOUNDA
And how bad are the CV angles and Ball Joint angles?
The cv angles really aren’t that harsh. I’ll have to double check on the ball joints.
@@NC_outdoorsman awesome thanks man I really appreciate that! I know they make pucks that can lower the diff a bit. Let me know what you find on ball joints
@@TrailStyle of course! I’ll look at the ball joints and will get back to you on that.
What Lift kit did you use?
I got the pucks and tortion keys separately on EBay.
Buddy, I sure do miss my '03 Silverado 5.3L. It had almost 300k miles on whenever I got rid of it. The only thing that was wrong with it is that it had a rear main seal leak. The fella I sold it to loves it. Still runs great to this day. You've got yourself a nice truck there.
Thank you! They are awesome trucks! They go for forever!
My 4.3L Silverado was a bear. Front end, rear diff, transmission all weak and replaced 1-2x but it got 17-20mpg and 4wd never was serviced even with hard use
@@workingcountry1776 these trucks are amazing, they last forever
How is that totaled? It just needs a bedside and a rear bumper, and possibly a new receiver hitch if it's even bent at all. I just backed into a dang telephone pole with my truck this past summer and had worse damage than that, and my insurance company did not total the truck, but it was about 5k to repair it.
Insurance is so funny about stuff, with these older vehicles I see trucks with minor bumper damage get totaled all the time.
I know it's crazy. I honestly expected them to total mine, but when I got the estimate, the fella at the body shop told me that to them it wasn't a real big job it was just an expensive one. He said that as long as the frame wasn't bent, they usually they won't total a vehicle. Great channel, BTW
@@ultimateicon2010 thank you! Glad that they didn’t total it!
I feel your going far ima follow and see
I sure hope so!
if you still have the 2 hp. outboard you could do a video on how fast it will push that little boat.
I sure do still have it! With 2 people and all my gear it would push the boat at just under 6mph. That isn’t very fast but the boat did have a lot of weight in it between 2 people and all the gear.
nice boat, I picked up an older 12 foot jon boat. a while back, hope to get it on the water soon, it came with a 2 hp. outboard. the boat is a mid 60's model, I need to replace the transom. it would work for a while with just the small motor on it but I want to mount some stuff to it so I plan to replace it soon,
Thank you! It’s been awesome to own! I’m sure you will enjoy yours!
Hell yeah
🤟🤟
Beautiful truck man
Thanks man!
I have the same exact truck
Heck yeah man that’s awesome 😎
Is the rod strong enough to handle jigs or spinner baits
It does fairly well with jigs, however I don’t fish a lot of spinner baits so I can’t tell you much on them.
@@NC_outdoorsman thanks !!
Did you put spacers in want to lift mine and put it on 35s
It has the coil spacers in the rear, as far as wheel spacers no. Stock wheel position. This lift with 35’s would be questionable.
Thank you so much for this video was trying to figure out how to run mine as a front mount
Looking for one for my 12ft boat how is it for casting or staying pretty steady along bank?
Can you run the trolling motor without a short circuit connection.?.?.
What do you mean by short circuit connection? My apologies but I’m not familiar with that term.
It’s a small connection on the positive terminal that runs from the motor to the battery, Minn kota doesn’t provide them in the box like Newport vessel does, I have the same set up but on a kayak and trying to stay fairly budget as well
@@killswitch7775 I see, my setup is as budget as I could go with it still being usable and efficient. It’s the trolling motor wires, then trolling motor extension wires I got on Amazon for 20$ and those are connected straight to the battery terminals. It doesn’t have a fuse or anything in between.
Looking to purchase an 05 z71 crew cab 4x4 but I’m concerned of a brake issue my master tech told me. He said at high mileage the brake parts break easily on these models and you end up having to replace the entire thing every brake replacement, I love this truck especially with what you’ve done to it, mine will be all too similar at purchase and I do not want to be discouraged, I was wondering if you heard anything similar or it’s a possibility it was the one vehicle he could’ve worked on?
Mine didn’t have any break issues, I would research the “355nation” forums or “Coloradofans.com” forums for more information on the specific issues. Thanks!
