DIY Packing Cubes - 10 minute Box Bag Tutorial
I'm a bit obsessed with organization. My gym bag turned into a mess of sports equipment, and I decided to make some packing cubes to organize everything. These are simple unlined boxed out bags. You can make most sizes with just a fat quarter of fabric.
For the bag I make in this video I used:
* 2 pieces of 12"x10" rip stop nylon fabric
* 1 zipper at least 12" long
This bag ended up as 3"x6"x9"
These dimensions are found:
L = length + height of box + 1" for seam allowance
W = width + height of box + 1" for seam allowance

    For those complaining her video was too fast, slow your playback speed down. That’s what I did. This is one of the only videos that my newborn beanie actually looks like a beanie that will fit a newborn. The wavy thing is not a big deal it evens out at the end by slightly stretching the top when I’m finished.

    Very well done! So glad that I kept looking for a better way because I can manage making this for 3 people for our vacation! I like the tip on cutting it at the top- I bet it reduces lint in the machine because it is not being pulled in the reverse direction. I am now eager to start making them!

    I’m also crocheting hats for the babies born in Feb, but for some reason my hats seem to be coming out kinda big and I’m following the exact pattern. Not sure what I’m doing wrong 😩

    • @music42380
      @music42380 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      To make the hat smaller there's a few things you can try. You can use a smaller hook. You can also do fewer rows on the base circle. Since on this pattern the sides of the hat end up a bit larger around than the base circle is.

    Hi honey well done on your very first tutorial, but having watched dozens myself can i jyst point out a couple of things for you. Firstly please try and go slower when teaching or people wont watch you you really did go fast babe. Secondly focus the camera on what you are doing not just the top of the project and your hands if its a newbie watching they wont be able to follow along with you sweetheart. Also lastly make eye contact with your veiwers that really matters if you are posting yourself on here too just makes you appear more friendly. Please dont take this to heart honey its meant to help thats all. Keep up the great work 😁😁❤❤

  • @lisacarroll3601
    @lisacarroll3601 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great tutorial, but I'd also recommend to do a rolled hem or burn the edges (careful doing this!!!) to stop the edges fraying. Most outdoor companies use an 8-10 stitch per inch for stitching which helps for puckering. Very quick project and great gifts.

    • @music42380
      @music42380 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with finishing the edges, After using them for a while, the seams are unravelling and strings are getting tangles. So some options for finishing edges would be using a serger/zigzag stitch, using french seams ( meaning you'll have to add in seam allowance twice), rolling the hem, or using a lighter to singe the synthetic fabric.

    Hi your video was perfect this is the easiest baby beanie I ever made and you did a very good job and I loved it when you speed it up past the extra stitches I think it's funny the other people thought you were going to fast they're just not experienced crocheters....
