How to build a chain drive spool/rear diff for crosskart. This drive spool was designed for my R1 crosskart (KJ Raycing style chassis) This is my 5th design. Made a few prototypes after working the bugs out. i came up with this design. Made for buggies with bike engines that have 100 hp. Has held up to the 180 hp R1. Uses R1 sprocket pattern so you dont have to get custom sprockets. Next video ...

Thank you 🎉 keep up the great work
nasty looking crosskart god dang i dont have the patience to make something look this good haha
just curious, why do you put grease in there when those look like sealed bearings?
To keep it cool and something to fill the space so it doesn't get full of water or something.
Where can I find that rack and pinion I'm making 1 similar but 2 seats
@@fainttomcat652 14" Rack & Pinion Unit a.co/d/co0LBD6
Perfect
Ackerman's corner? negative. Why?
I need to add a stop so it doesnt turnpast pivot point. Right now the steering rack has more travel than the spindles so the tires turn farther than they are supposed too.
Correct to neutral or positive? Will you? Will the brake disc interfere? Can't move the steering back? This is Google translation, I hope it's clear.
Nice work 👌
Saw the steering rack flex when turning the wheels
Good eye. Yea it's just tacked in its not full welded and the bolts are just finger tight. I do need to beef up that mount.
Great build how stiff are those Polaris 800 shocks?
Not bad. If they are too stiff you can just move your mounting point
@Xkarts200 th-cam.com/users/shorts7p7DTFjzdr4?si=bqnV_URGZc00ughQ
@Xkarts200 I made a custom buggy with a artic cat at 2000 300 4x4 but my rear schoks are to stiff..
@JoseManuel-lj4dk so you could either get softer shox or move the shox mounting point on the a arms closer to the frame.
@@Xkarts200 true thank you
Great video, frame is surprisingly light keep it up!
Thnx man. :)
Could you explain why you went for rear trailing arms and why the mounting points of the main arms are in that weird point along the side? I'm trying to figure out mines and there might be things I haven't considered.(weight distribution?)
@bonovoxel7527 i did rear trailing because it's the strongest style of rear suspension and the mount on the side is that far forward because it makes a larger radius for the trailing arms.
First? :)
Gratitude 🙏 my friend definitely a good guide for my next build
Is it practical to drill the grease fitting and weld hole prior to installing the bearings? seems like those metal pieces will destroy the bearings.. Possibly...
@VAN-Geaux yes that sounds like a good idea.
Those trail g arms need a complete mount up front looks to me like. But man it looks great !
Ya I've got alot of comments abt that. I might do something to it in the future. Thnx for the feedback and for stopping by. Much appreciated!
What year/range carrier did you use off the 800 Ranger?
I don't even know what year they are but the part number is 5134741
@@Xkarts200 Thanks for the response! For anyone else looking 41 is the LEFT carrier and 31 is the RIGHT carrier.
thanks for this awesome video! hands down the best, most in depth information available. I appreciate the links to get all the needed parts.
The front ride height is way too high. You're gonna have a lot of lateral jacking which could lead to a rollover.
@Drunken_Hamster yeah I noticed it was a little high after so moved the shock tabs up a little. Thnx for stopping by ;)
@@Xkarts200 Good work, thanks for the reply!
nice build! please get some welding gloves man
Love your videos i am thinking of building something like this when the winter is over too
@Dachshund_plays Thnx man. I am working on kits to build these if your interested. I'll probably have them available after i get this one going.
I appreciate the mention brother! Some of the feedback I was getting on my channel was saying they liked a variety of music the doesn’t overpower the shop noise.
You also most likely going to need to upgrade the front suspension at some point
Thnx for the feedback. Yea on my next buggy I'm going to fab up some spindles and a arms. Got too many ideas brewing. Now i just need time to do it.
Currently doing a very similar build. Nice work man. Eager to see how my build goes
Sounds great and good luck. Thnx for stopping by ;)
Looking awesome :) I subbed a couple days ago... Looking forward to seeing the build :)
Thnx man!!
What engine will you put in it?
Right now, I'm planning on a Raptor 660
👍👍good job
I have subscribed in hopes to learn something watching you, Please try mentioning the size of items you use like heim joints n others, Thank you
I'm using 1/2 heims on front of trailing arms and 3/8 on the radius arms on the back. I try to include sizes in the future. Thnx for the sub :)
The jig i used is KJ racing idea. Thnx man helped alot.
Very nice work, Keep it up.
Thanks, will do!
That thing going to rippp 👀
Hi, do you perhaps sell the plans for the mini crosskart?

Dude im thinking of using a Subaru differential with cv axles as my rear drive, ill get a custome mount so the sproket can bolt to the differentials input and ya hopefully call it a day
I just looked into a subaru differential. That sounds like a really good idea. I didn't know they were that small. What kind of buggy r u building??
