The Batman - Why We Need Heroes And More Films Like The Batman
The Batman has got to be one of the greatest comic book movies I have seen in a long time. The last really great comic book movie I saw where I said, "damn that was a masterpiece" was probably Logan. I think Matt Reeves really understands and cares about this character and his lore. I've been a Batman fan ever since I was really little and this to me, is the best live action adaptation of the Batman that we have ever gotten. It has the perfect cats, the perfect, Gotham, and now the best Batman. Robert Pattinson really blew me away and I think the themes and ideas in this film work so well and I am glad to see a balance between a more vengeful Batman and an inspiring Batman. I'm so excited to see where Matt takes the caped crusader next.

Spider Man: No Way Home Is -(Kinda)- Frustrating But Still Amazing
มุมมอง 5373 ปีที่แล้ว
Now before you comment down below, hear me out. I didn't think No Way Home was the best Spiderman movie, I felt the humor and pacing was really off in this movie and stuff like that could have been handled better. I also don't hate this movie, it was a damn good movie and a love letter to generations of Spider-Man fans. Tom Holland's Spider-Man finally grows, we get to see Tobey and Andrew inte...
Why People Don't Understand Superman And The Problem With Modern Comic Book Media
มุมมอง 104K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Hey, how doing. So I've been wanting to make this video for a while now, but unfortunately I rewrote it several times and felt as though it was incomplete. But I think I said what I needed to say. I know Zack Snyder's Superman has been talked about to death but I wanted to get my opinions out there and instead of critiquing just his Superman, I wanted to talk about Superman in all types of medi...
One Marvelous Scene - Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (Video Essay)
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Today we are taking a look back at Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2. The scene raindrops keeping on my head is the best scene in any comic book film ever made in my opinion. This scene perfectly showcases great filmmaking techniques but also how to fit a goofy scene like this in a superhero movie. Spider-Man 2 is now my favorite comic book movie of all time, it used to be my second favorite next to The...
Why Luke Skywalker Is The Best Movie Hero Of All Time
มุมมอง 41K3 ปีที่แล้ว
#StarWars #LukeSkywalker #GeorgeLucas This is a video essay about why I think Luke Skywalker is the greatest movie hero ever. Luke Skywalker was my hero growing up as a kid, and I want to express my love for his character and Star Wars as a whole. Great video. The issue with Man of Steel (despite me liking it) that didn't help was the desatured and colour scheme. Plus Snyder should've have reconstructed Superman back at the end of Man of Steel which would tied in culimnation of his no kill rule idelodgy unless in special circumstances. Not near end his Justice League movie.
Honestly I loved the initial New 52 Superman, and honestly it felt relatable, and it harkened back to the Golden Age Superman- champion of the oppressed, a social crusader, I disagree it wasn’t good (honestly Geoff Johns “Man of Tomorrow “ was one of the weaker Superman books overalll during that run). Grant Morrison was one of the better runs, mixing different elements of Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age Superman and doing something fresh with it. It was more editorial Superman, killing off New 52 Superman was a bigger mistake than it was a benefit tbh. I prefer the Superman stories written by Gene Leun Kang (Superman Smashes the Klan), Phillip Kennedy Johnson Superman, Mark Waid, Joshua Williamson, Superman Space Age, and stories like that. Even Absolute Superman was amazing. He is a man who is introspective, has doubts and flaws but is someone who inspires hope and tries to bring the best out of people. I think 2025 will be a great year for Superman. Also Kingdom Come also had Superman loses Lois/the Daily Planet to the Joker and never become a dictator or killer. It was a better deconstruction of who Superman is and what he represented in a darker, grim and gritty era.
Erm isn't that the hobo who drinks green milk and then dies over a zoom force call
In injustice superman doesn't become the tyrant at the get go.. He doesn't become a tyrant just because Lois died. Or some of his villain killed her. Superman was directly involved in his pregnant wife's death. He's blaming himself too.. He's in a shock. He's been pushed by his team JL team members and Batman being a hypocrite throughout. Some manupilating from WW. Through out the series Batman keeps on doing almost the same thing that he blames Superman of. In injustice 2 PA Kent clearly explains batman's behavior during Lois death. When Supes needed his friend Batman as usual was being a stubborn arrogant being. In Zack Snyder's version again he's been tricked by the anti life equation to be a tyrant
9:39 just saying post crisis and new 52 are the same universe just an altered timeline
Something I think that should be mentioned about Superman's moral values: his parents are the Great Depression but also the european fascism against the Jews (you know Siegel and Shuster were Jewish), and that goes absolutely against the Injustice arc (and that is a major lead about "doing the right choice", you know what I mean)
The thing most people miss about good deconstruction of a character is not to change the character at least not fundamentally different, a good deconstruction is to take apart the character and to higlight and galvanize what makes them already great put them on their lowest point and have them become the best version of themselves proving all the things that were good about them and the first place and improve and add it , simply put if you breaking down a character to make them into a different character then you have no real interest in writing that character to begin with
So, I have a random question. I want to start making TH-cam videos with a focus on comics and superheroes. What are some tips for success and how to avoid infringing on copyright? Any help would be appreciated!
Kingdom Come > Injustice Superman Red Son > Injustice What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way? > Injustice Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? > Injustice Dark Superman stories can be done without ruining the character
People don't know Flat characters and when don't know flat characters they think superman is boring
It is indeed rare to find a hero who "wins" through compassion and positive emotions rather than simply through violence (which both good and evil employ).
Its simple they should just give this character to marvel
I eish marvel had this character
Dc is shit
Everyone’s doing deconstructions of Superman to the point where it would actually be more subversive to have Superman be a genuinely kind person who actually wants to help people. Though the DCEU’s employment of Zack Snyder is one of the reasons why I wondered if DC ever had any intention of making their cinematic universe work or if this was some kind of elaborate The Producers-style scheme all along. Because first, they hire Zack Snyder, a raging Objectivist who has openly expressed contempt for idealistic heroes on numerous occasions, to direct a film about the most idealistic hero of them all. But okay, that movie has its defenders. I’m not one of them but still. Then he does Batman v. Superman and in doing so, manages to take an inherently cool concept and screw up so badly that it crosses the line into “HOW?! How did you screw up this badly?!” Credit where credit is due: this is proof that Zack Snyder has some talent as a director, because a screwup on this level takes more than mere incompetence to happen. But even after Snyder screwed up that badly, DC was still like, “Let’s bring him back to do our big team-up picture.”
💯 society now sees superman the way villans do. The way Lex sees him or how Bill sees him In KillBill vol2.
If you follow any big news recent years future seems pretty bleak, so we need hero like the real superman to give us some hope
I’m definitely not as knowledgeable as you on the topic of superman. But as a human I think injustice makes sense. We’ve seen fathers kill their family’s murders before. And we’ve seen how Batman dealt with having superman’s powers. So the twist to make superman a dictator worked. Even as a dictator he strived to do what’s right.
It's very easy to just say "he does the right thing every single time" but it is effectively meaningless because superman does not exist. In reality, he does whatever the fallible human writers want him to do every single time.
That could be said about every characters. They don’t exist and the writers decide what they do. This comment is kinda pointless
@abelito6031 not at all, because not all fictional characters are infallible gods. The limitations with writing such characters is that the people who write them are infallible mortals who have a hard time deciding what they should have for dinner.

My live action Superman Ranking 6. Dean Cain 5. Brandon Routh 4. Henry Cavill 3. Tom Welling 2. Tyler Hoechlin 1. Christopher Reeve
Superman hasn't really been portrayed correctly for the most part since Christopher Reeve or the 90s animated and live action series. The only two recent actors that have portrayed him correctly I feel have been Tyler Hoechlin and Tom Welling. Superman stands for truth, justice and the american way or better tomorrow. No other actor has brought that except Tyler Hoechlin and Tom Welling. So I hope David Corensweat will be the next one. Superman has been dark, yes. But he's a better character when he's more bright and joyful, which separates him from Batman. Superman was not all that different from Batman in the DCEU. So I hope that changes in the upcoming DCU.
All Star Superman is my favorite interpretation atm
I don’t much like the sequels, but u we’re a little unfair with the pilot points, anakin built his own pod racer and was a slave to a guy who solos ship parts, he was obviously smart for his age and would of had access to learn from the customers, Rey scavenged big ships, and it’s likely she would of learned in some capacity how to fix things, showing up Han Solo was going too far, I just don’t like seeing people be unreasonable about something cause it’s bad for other reasons, like Rey using the force with no training was complete bull
Exactly!!!!
Character Luke is great, Actor Luke sucks.
Even Batman is not so great when he's always too dark, for a while in the comics he became too much of an asshole to the point he was unlikable. Which is why Batman Animated Series was so great because he was a well balanced out character who could smile, laugh, make jokes, give thumbs up, compassionate, empathetic, caring, but still can be dark and brutal. DCAMU, 2004, Brave And The Bold, and Under The Red Hood are all good Batmans as well.
Fire edit 🔥
In the original pulp comics of the 40s Batman would kill
Hey honestly watch my adventures with Superman trust they gave the character justice
I don’t think Superman would become a dictator either but there was a line either in the game or the comic where Bruce confronts Superman over what he did saying he experienced his parents death but would never cross the line to which Superman told Bruce “you weren’t the gun” and I think that adds to his reasoning personally
31:59 false. No its not
Man. You dont understand the character. This video is so embarassing.
28:05 yes its original. 28:09 kingdom come? Wtf are you Saying?
28:00 false. You don't understand superman guy
This video is so false
27:23 27:28 false
15:18 snyderverse superman kills joker? This is false. Wtf are you talking about?. Snyder Superman becomes evil because of the anti Life equation...not for lois death.
This movie sucks
This movie sucks. We dont need movie like the batman. It's horrible.
I became a Superman fan because of the WB cartoon show. It was awesome.
So of course Rian Johnson had to come and ruin it, because we can't have nice things.
Note, they never tell him to "kill Vader" that what Luke assumes. They tell him to face/confront Vader. It's a subtle but important difference in the dialogue. Part of Luke's "failure" is assuming that "confront" means to kill.
It’s way harder to inspire someone than it is to make them feel like shit. I really admire those who aim to inspire
You said you are a Superman hardcore fan, why is Plot Armor man aka Batman your favorite ? I don't get it.
Man of steel and Batman v Superman and Zack Snyder’s Justice league made me understand Superman. I never understood him before those movies. They were great interpretations that made me understand him and I’m so happy for it
Me too. These movies are masterpieces. I love them.
That's not superman in those movies the real superman is not in DC movies
Action Comics with Aaron Kuder was some of the best Superman to release after the new 52. It was a throw back to the light hearted silver age one off adventures and Kuder’s art was beautiful.
in his mind the joker needed to die, which by the way isnt wrong, whats wrong is allowing the joker to continue to kill more people knowing he is going to escape for the 100th time "but but thats vigilantly justice" well, so is putting on a costume and fighting crime. now, going full dictator, that was wrong, dictatorships always end poorly. should have stopped at the joker.
