ASMR DO THIS! How To Dye Leather Boots From Any Color To Black | DIY Easy No Mess
I use the *amzaccs* as a work accessories and have had no issues. It's a comfortable accessories, has lots of room, and doesn't lose its shape. That being said, I also take care of all my accessoriess and don't carry water bottles, pens, keys, or anything that could damage the interior.
Hi! I have a pair of these in black that have a little flap on the toe like the ones in this vid, but it is a clean tear & the chunk is still hanging on. I’m wondering what kind of glue you would use to flatten it back in place?
That's a great question! I've dealt with hundreds of those. All you need is Fiebing's leather cement. Open up the flap as wide as you can without it ripping off, thoroughly apply the fiebing's leather cement in the fibers of the underside of the flap, and then use a hard tool to gently fold down the flap so it's flush. You can expect some glue to squeeze out. Just wipe up the residue. (It's water soluble until it dries). It should be essentially invisible if the circumstances are right! You can find it using the affiliate link in the description. Also, I know Michael's usually sells it and they usually have great coupons. Let me know how it turns out!
I always melt mink oil paste into the leather with a hairdryer. Rub in thoroughly with a gloved hand while still warm. This produces very even distribution. Let dry overnight and then buff with a damp cloth.
Hey Steven! Thanks so much for your input. Honestly, I've been either using a hairdryer or mini heat gun, but another community member said that it's harsher on the leather than simply using sunlight. What are your thoughts and experience?
@@evumies I believe a heat gun is too hot to use on leather. There are many who strip wax polish with a heat gun. I use acetone followed by a saddle soap wash. A hairdryer is considerably cooler than a heat gun. I keep it moving and the leather never gets too hot, just hot enough to melt wax and heat oils for great absorbtion. Results with the hairdryer method are a game changer ! Without heat, products made of wax and oil will not penetrate the leather fully. You want the inner fibers to absorb the product, not just the surface.
@@stevenroche9874 Yeah, I agree. However, the mini heat gun I use in the videos is essentially a hair dryer as it doesn't get very hot at all. I always say that if it's too hot for your skin, it's probably too hot for the leather. I definitely found that to be the case as well to warm up the wax or oils. It absorbed deeply into the leather with barely any effort. I just don't want to trade quickness with quality.
@@evumies It's the guys using the high wattage heat guns that are damaging the leather. I saw a video of a cobbler who got the leather so hot that when he applied conditioner, it started to smoke ! You are using the mini heat gun with care and not damaging the leather.
@@stevenroche9874 Yeah, definitely. Honestly, it was funny to read on Sno-Seal's instructions to actually warm up your leather in a low temperature oven. Have you tried that or tried Sno-Seal?
i used wipes to clean a soy sauce droplet on my bright yellow suede shoes. now its dry and looks of a less yellow where i wiped it. any tips on hoe to get the color back?
Ah, that sucks! Sorry to hear that. What type of wipes did you use? If you successfully removed all of the soy sauce, it may just need to be brushed now. If you have a suede brush, definitely use that to bring back the nap that was pressed down after you wiped it. If you don't have a suede brush, you can use any CLEAN hard bristle brush, just don't press too hard. If that doesn't work, let me know!
The color is too red for me. I would have used a medium brown dye. Good idea to condition and dye in one step ! I have dyed first and then conditioned 24 hours later.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Medium brown sounds like a great choice. I didn't like this color at first, I wanted it to be darker, but It actually grew on me as I was working on it. Yeah, the condition / dye in one step was a game changing. Really helped the dye blend into the leather well. What bag did you restore?
@@evumies It was a pair of Wolverine 1000 Mile boots and Red Wing Blacksmith boots with Angelus Brown dye.
What’s in the foam dispenser? 😭
It's ShoeMGK cleaner & conditioner! Works great. Check it out here: amzn.to/3rKhneN [Amazon]
The proper way to clean your leather is to buy a £200 " sustainable retro handmade" brush, a £700 lotion made From the toilet of an artisan in Tokyo and then you have to travel to finland and take a £500 course in " leather care" only then can you truly know how to clean your shoes
Or... just use your roommate's toothbrush, a squirt of overpriced organic oat milk, and chant "leather be cleansed" under a full moon. Same vibes, half the budget. 😂
I wash insoles in the sink with hot water, diluted dish detergent, and a medium size horsehair dauber. Let air dry overnight. This method will really get them like new clean and fresh ! Also, I clean outsoles with hot water, diluted dish detergent, and a stiff nylon bristle brush.
I really appreciate you sharing your tips! It's always great to hear different methods for keeping our leather looking brand new! Does that usually take care of any smells as well? I've usually will let baking soda sit to remove any stench.
@@evumies Sometimes I soak the insoles in disinfectant for ten minutes after cleaning. That eliminates any odors.
What about the mesh though?? That’s my issue… I have new balance ( much like the ones in the video) and it’s hard to clean the mesh without getting the suede wet
I totally get you. That's frustrating, isn't it? Honestly, if your mesh is REALLY dirty, you can try to use a towel inside of your shoe and then with a small brush try to clean the mesh without getting the suede wet. If you get a little suede wet, it's not the end of the world. Just try to dab it with a clean dry cloth. If that doesn't work to get the marks out, I would suggest getting a suede specific cleaner. This will get your suede wet, but not with water, it's specially formulated for suede. This way, you can clean your mesh and suede properly. I'd highly suggest the Leather Honey Suede & Nubuck kit in the description! Let me know how it turns out!
leather is not equal, some leather comes packed with wax and oil it will be fine for another 20-30 years, some other are drier and need conditioning from time to time, and some covered in waterproof plastic coating that can't be conditioned at all.
Hey Stefan. You're absolutely right. Although I believe all leather should be properly maintained, you can't expect the same results from suede that you can from top grain. Like you said, fat liquored leather that's packed with waxes and oils is definitely going to be more resilient than a veg tan leather. Although I don't prefer waterproof or plastic coated pigmented leather, it can be more durable and I know people like that. Your input is important. Thanks so much for sharing.
Saphir makes two highly regarded suede cleaning products, Omnidaim and MDO Omninettoyant. They also have Renovateur in a spray can for suede and nubuck leather. I treat my suede with Ecco Nubuck Conditioner, effective and priced right on Amazon.
Hey Steven! Thanks so much for sharing. I've not actually tried either of those, but I know Saphir is top quality. Thanks so much for sharing those products and I'll try to get my hands on some to try! What's your oldest pair of leather shoes / boots?
@evumies I started my collection three years ago when the government was giving away money for COVID. Only my work shoes get any significant wear and tear. The rest of the shoes and boots are all in excellent condition. Enjoying watching your videos. You really know what you are doing !
@@stevenroche9874 Hey Steven! That's awesome. That's also around when I began to take my leather care journey seriously. It's great to hear that you steward your leather so well. It inspires me and it's awesome that you're a part of our leather community. Keep commenting and let me know what you think!
@@evumies I sure will ! By the way, many Saphir products are available on Amazon.
Melting dubbin, oils, and other conditioners into the leather with a hairdryer is the best method.
Hey Steve! Thanks so much for your input. I love warming wax or oil into leather that way. It really absorbs well. 100% agree. What's your favorite conditioner?
@evumies I own many footwear care products, including wax and cream polishes. I also own about fifty pairs of boots and shoes ! All medium to high quality. This is my hobby. Lately, I have been getting excellent conditioning and waterproofing with Danner Boot Dressing in brown color. I have discovered that colored products ( not neutral ) work best. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Why would one want their dye less pigmented? Does this help with a more even application? Also wondering how long to wait after deglazing before going in with the dye? Thank you the very informative and well made video 🫡
Hey friend. Thank you so much for watching. This is just my opinion from experience, but because the dye is so thickly pigmented, I see it as a waste to use it at "full strength." So, I dilute mine because it takes care of the job just as well and I get more dye for other projects instead of "wasting" it. Does that make sense? You don't have to do it, but I don't see why one wouldn't. To answer your question, just wait for it to be fully dry. Delgazers usually dry very quickly, so it shouldn't be long depending on your temperature / weather. Thank you so much for watching! I hope I've earned your subscription!
Looking forward to bringing my 35 yr old 10 holes back to life. ❤ Thankyou
35 years? Wow, those boots have seen more adventures than I have! Let's bring them back from retirement! Thanks so much for watching!
Get some vintage K2R spot lifter
Hey friend! Thanks so much for watching. Never heard of it but supposed it has a "spotless record since 1963!" Though, I'll mention that it doesn't say it's safe for leather or suede. What's your experience with it?
what was the goop after the dye?
Hey Jacob. That's just the leather cream from the beginning of the video to just add another layer of hydration which was optional. Let me know if that works.
Very instructive. I was afraid to ruin my suede jacket with solutions and liquids as seen on other tutorials. Guess I'm sticking with the eraser as my safe option.
I'm glad you found it helpful! Suede can be tricky, but the eraser method is definitely a safe bet to keep your jacket looking great. Though if you run into things like body oils, it can definitely be harder to remove. I'd highly suggest Leather Honey's suede & nubuck kit in my description. It has everything you'll need to feel safe.
Lol. That bag us made of leather that has a black coating on it that has completely sealed the leather. That coating is not going to let any of that product get absorbed into the leather unless it has been scratched or worn away... like on damaged edge piping of that bag. The treatments you used/applied only cleaned the outer coating and did no conditioning of the inner leathrr because it's sealed by that paint. You can tell a leather actually is being condituoned because the product will be absorbed into the leather instead of evaporating on the surface paint.
Hi there, thanks for your input and taking the time to watch. Just to clarify, the bag in the video is the Tory Burch Fleming Chain Tote, made from aniline nappa leather, which has open pores that fully absorbed the conditioner I used. It's not painted or sealed. You can actually view this information on Tory Burch's site currently if you're curious. Though I do know what type of painted pigmented leather you're talking about. It's just not this one. It’s interesting how confident you are about something without checking the facts. A little research goes a long way-just a thought. Wishing you a fantastic day!
Yeah I looked on their site. Didn't see that bag or any info on it. Saw some very similar... but the one in your video wasn't there. Anyways, have a great day, and good luck selling that leather honey.
I always tell people condition leather like you would your skin use lotion to avoid cracking on your skin and conditioner on leather
Totally agree! Treat your leather right, and it'll thank you by lasting for years. Thank you for being a voice of reason out there!
@ hey skin needs to be taken of care of just like leather I always tell people treat your leather like you would your skin
It feels a bit weird to type, but I love looking after well made objects - be they heirlooms, books, furniture or clothing. I'll happily admit to being fussy about both shoes and handbags, with almost everything being leather. Add dogs (collars and leads). Which means I have an abundance of creams, waxes and oils (and brushes and rags). I'll quite happily turn my hand to minor restoration work, which most recently entailed relining a friend's favourite bag, then feeding the leather before a final go over with shoe cream. All that to say - beautiful job, and wonderful to see someone enjoying bringing leather back to life.
I really appreciate your comment-it’s exactly the kind of sentiment that inspired this channel. I’ve always believed that well-crafted leather goods deserve careful attention, and it’s wonderful to hear that you share that philosophy. The work you’ve done, from relining a bag to nourishing leather with the right products, speaks to a genuine appreciation for the material and the process. I think we'd be very good friends in person! Tell me, what are your go to leather care products? I'm dying to hear! It’s a refreshing perspective, and I’m glad to know there are others who take the time to care for their leather with such thoughtfulness. I look forward to seeing more of your insights in future videos-thank you again for sharing! - Evan
Mmm - probably a slightly different range available here in Australia, and definitely showing my past with horses. For super-dry/neglected/ancient leather and the couches - Equinade Leather & Saddle Oil (keep applying until it's not being soaked up). For "healthy" leather that doesn't need colour - Joseph Lyddy's Jay-El Beeswax Dressing - dog kit, belts, watch straps, bags, shoes and boots (also for wax finished shoes/boots). I've tended towards shoe cream over shoe polish (grew up using Kiwi polish on school shoes!), but there's been very limited choices until quite recently - really only what could be purchased at a cobbler. So I'm checking out what's available and have yet to settle on anything in particular. Tend to use neutral shoe cream for the coloured bags and footwear, although I do use a coloured cream if I can find one that matches. There is another aspect to this - it's about keeping things in as good condition as possible for as long as possible. Which means an excellent cost per wear (economy) and a much lower cost to the planet (ecology).
Your mention of Equinade Leather & Saddle Oil is interesting-I haven’t come across that one before, but it sounds like a perfect solution for neglected leather that needs a real boost. It’s great to hear about your experience with Joseph Lyddy’s Jay-El Beeswax Dressing too; it sounds like it does a fantastic job maintaining leather without compromising its natural texture. I totally agree with you on the neutral shoe cream for versatility-it's often the best way to go, especially with mixed-color leather items like bags and belts. And yes, eco-efficiency is a huge aspect of it. The longer we care for and extend the life of our leather goods, the less waste we generate, and the more we get out of our purchases-not just financially, but environmentally as well. It’s great to connect with someone who sees the value in taking that extra time to invest in high-quality care for their leather pieces. I really appreciate your thoughtful take on "price per use." You're one of the only other people I've heard speak about it! It’s one of those concepts that’s so simple yet so powerful, especially when applied to leather care. As you mentioned, buying cheap, low-quality items-whether they’re faux leather shoes or poorly maintained high-quality ones-just drives up the overall cost. I think we’ve all seen what happens when leather isn’t properly cared for: it deteriorates fast and becomes a much more expensive “investment” in the long run. For anyone who is reading but doesn't know the concept of "price per use," it's that the true cost of an item is determined by how often you use it. So, if you buy a cheap pair of faux leather shoes that wear out quickly, the cost per wear is high. But if you invest in something of higher quality, like a well-made leather pair of shoes, and take care of them, the cost per wear goes down because they'll last you for years. It’s about getting more value over time, rather than just the initial price tag. Though, I know not everyone can afford higher cost items. I’ll be curious to hear what products you end up settling on after checking out new options! Do you guys have Leather Honey out there? There’s always something to learn when it comes to leather care. Thanks for sharing your insights!
Equinade and Joseph Lyddy are both Australian brands and work really well in our tough climate :) Leather Honey is available via Amazon (I just looked) - it sounds like a liquid cross between my two favourites! That said, I'm very happy with the Jay-El (also used on my old leather suitcases) and Equinade and they're made locally, so that's a no-brainer. "The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. ... A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. ... But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while a poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet. This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socio-economic unfairness." (the late great Terry Pratchett in his Men at Arms) Always get the best you can afford (not dog beds. Guaranteed to be shredded and exploded all over the floor by the next day). Having shopped mostly 2nd hand/vintage for so long (from necessity for most of my 20s and into my 40s), it's encouraging seeing it go mainstream - often you can buy better quality 2nd hand for less than the new equivalent. Looking after what you have is very much respect for the object, respect for the maker (even if it's some poor sod in a sweatshop), respect for the materials. And also respect for yourself. Applies to everything - cars, clothing, food, household objects, gardens... Life is about learning. You've certainly got some tricks I haven't seen and will be using in the future!
Thank you for this restoration video snakeskin boots are my favorite
You're very welcome. Honestly, snakeskin boots are underrated and I've found them to be very unique and, shall I say...exotic! I hope I've earned your subscription! Thanks so much.
@@evumies just did!
was hoping to clean my shoes with house hold things but apparently i need suede specific products T_T
I totally understand! Suede can be a bit tricky, but using the right products really helps maintain that beautiful texture. It's not that you can't use at home products, but they definitely don't work as well if you want the best results. Here's a list of at home products for suede that I don't recommend but if you don't have anything else or can't afford it, these are some options that people have used in the past: Suede Eraser: Pencil Eraser Gum or Rubber Suede Cleaner: White Vinegar or Rubbing Alcohol 1 drop of Dish Soap + 1 cup of Water (small amount) Suede Brush: Soft Toothbrush Nail Brush (soft bristles)
Awesome job on those boots! They probably cost several hundred dollars new, of course our tax dollars would have been paying.
I really appreciate your kind words! It’s always nice to see the value in restoring quality pieces instead of buying new. Thanks for watching.
In my experience, you gotta use the filler first, and then you sand it. If the groves and scratches are deeper, the better the filler "fills." Then sand with a 3000 grit. It'll look more natural and smoother.
Hey, thanks for the tip! I'm always learning. I have found a better filler and I used the method you just noted. I'm glad you're out there helping people! Thank you.
@evumies keep up the good work! 👍🏻
Obenauf's Leather protectant and oil are the absolute BEST LP product's. And that's who the Pacific Forester and Fire Services use them
Thanks for the recommendation! Obenauf's sounds like a solid choice for leather care. It's always great to hear about trusted products in the community! I'll reach out to them to see if they want to partner for a video! Thanks so much for watching!
The best satisfying video on internet ❤
What a huge compliment! Thank you so much for watching. If you want to see more videos like this in your feed, I'd be honored if you subscribed!
"not sponsored" xDDD Nice video though, I think there's a good market for boot restoration videos - might wanna look around flea markets for used up boots. But this kind of restoration, not sole replacement by a cobbler. Getting rid of scratches, small dings and dents - these videos are fun and something we can learn from.
Hey friend! Just to clarify, I didn't get paid to make this video, but the products used in the video were gifted by Red Moose. I cringe at my old videos, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I think there is a good niche market as my channel is hitting almost 800,000 total views since I started the channel. What you mentioned is one of my main goals to help people solve! Thanks so much for watching and I hope you subscribe to find more intuitive ways of caring for your leather!
So these cleaners and conditioners are ok for matte leather???? I was told too use saphir cleaner and conditioner for suede on these
Hey friend, thanks so much for watching. The boots I cleaned in this video was smooth leather, note suede. However, if you want to clean your suede, I'd highly suggest using Cobbler's choice suede cleaning kit! Also, check out my most recent Thursday boot video for even better instructions and most recent best product suggestions: th-cam.com/video/5UzUZWgwFo0/w-d-xo.html
Save yourself some money and buy another product! If you run out of protectant, its not sold separately by the company, and you have to buy a whole new kit!! What a company!! A small kit to begin with and a waste of money!
Hey Joe! That's a really good point you raise. I'm going to talk to the CEO of Leather Honey about that. I know the Suede & Nubuck cleaner is sold separately, but yeah, we need the protectant as well. When it comes to the size of the kit, there's a fine balance between providing the average user the proper amount while keeping costs low, I'm sure you can understand. Not everyone is going to need it for many projects but still want an affordable price. Thanks for your input and taking the time to write about it! Your opinion matters.
The protectant says its good for suede nubuck faux leather, leather, vinyl, rubber, vegan leather, etc. I can't believe that such a versatile product is not sold separately for winter shoe protection. Think of all the thousands in profits this company lost by not offering this as a standalone product. Other shoe and leather product companies offer such a product. Simply amazes me you can't buy existing products separately!😮
Will this work on high heels
Hey Stephanie! Yeah, this process is for any leather, so it should work for heels as well as long as they're leather! :) Thanks so much for watching.
after a year of watching only political topics, i need this type of stuff. im gonna watch it when i get home and relax while polishing my shoes, or even my leather bag.
Hey friend! Thanks for being a loyal subscriber. I know how draining that can be! Restoring leather is really calming and soothing for me, so I'm happy I can share that with you as well. Let me know how it goes or if you run into anything you need help with!
who cares if you use moisturizer after anyway?
Using the right pH cleaner is crucial because leather's structure relies on a delicate balance. A wrong pH can break down fibers, weakening the leather over time. Conditioner only restores suppleness; it can’t reverse damage caused by harsh cleaners. Think of it like your skin-using the wrong cleanser harms it, and moisturizer won’t fix the root issue. Start with the right cleaner to protect and preserve the leather’s integrity.
You mentioned MGK products but linked leather honey?
Hey friend, totally understand. Since this video, I've found that Leather Honey is a better more safe cleaner, so I wanted to recommend that one instead, though I did add the ShoeMGK links in the description. Thanks so much for watching!
@ great, thanks for clarifying!! I figured that was the case just wanted to be sure!!
amazing results but that's alot of work
Easy come, easy go. It's hard work that creates amazing results that can save you a lot of money, but that's the trade off you take to restore! Thanks so much for watching.
Same process on the other colors that are the resilient leather? I have the Arizona hero boots.
Hey friend! Thanks so much for watching. Yeah, essentially gonna be the same process. The Hero Boots are epic! Hope they last you long and you take care of them well. Good on you.
No, not all the rugged and resilient leathers from them are the same. If you use the cobblers conditioner from this video it will darken the color of your Arizona adobe boots so I'd recommend bicks 4 conditioner instead. Some of the r&r leathers are almost more suede like material so if you have any of those then you should use cleaners and conditioners made specifically for suede/nubuck so you don't ruin your boots
I just wish they would stop making suede shoes. I hate that the HXH reeboks are suede it sucks
Super!
Thanks for watching! I hope I've earned your subscription!
Hey I found your video because I found a pair of Frye boots similar to these but in pretty rough condition. The straps are broken, they’re scuffed and torn. I ended up buying them to save them and wondered if you wanted to take on the challenge, make a video on them or maybe I can feature you on my pages or I can pay you! I believe I can save em but we will see 😂
Thanks for reaching out! I’m unfortunately very busy with other projects at the moment, and I usually only take items that are freely given for me to keep so there are no issues with expectations. I wouldn't be able to promise a quick turnaround. That said, I’m confident you can fix them yourself-just keep learning, keep trying, and never give up! When I started this journey, I knew nothing, but after thousands of hours restoring boots, I consider myself a growing student of leather care. You’ve got this! 💪
I have a pair in storage because they didn't get broken in. I'll be using this.
Hey man, thanks so much for watching. I'm so happy I was able to help get your boots in storage back on the ground. I literally had no idea this tool even existed. My brother had 2 pairs that he loved but were killing his feet, this completely fixed it for him! All the best, let me know how it turns out!
my visvim bag uses suede on the bottom, it's all dry and hard now, pls save my ass!
can't find aerosol conditioner spray in my region, that's the toughest
Sorry to hear that! I'm here to help. I'd highly suggest watching my latest suede video and following the same instructions for your suede bottom, let me know if you have any further questions: th-cam.com/video/hZVsf8y1tNs/w-d-xo.html
@@bridgeschromaCN No worries, just clean it for now and protect it. I'd suggest starting off with a suede eraser first, that should clean it well and loosen up any fibers that have come hard. If it's food or other things, you'll need a suede cleaner.
@ thanks! I'm gonna do it when I get home, while watching your latest instructions!
@@bridgeschromaCN Keep me updated and let me know how it turns out! All the best.
Hi Evumies, can and should an eraser be used on brown suedes?
Hey friend! A suede eraser can be used on any color suede, however, note that there may be some dye transfer from the suede color rubbing off onto the eraser shavings. This is completely normal. Just note not to press too hard or rub too much in one area as this can potentially damage the suede. I hope that helps!
@@evumies thank you! however I searched for this eraser haven't seen it, think I should go for a spray, the suede is not dirty, just old or rusty
@@sba_14 Hey there! I'd highly suggest using Leather Honey's Suede & Nubuck Kit. You can find it in the description. Let me know if you find it! Also check out my whole list at kit.co/evumies
Thank you so much
What a ridiculous video. You wiped mud know a pair of brand new boots and then cleaned them.
Hey friend! Thanks so much for watching. These boots were used and are vintage, they were not new. I will note that I did take them through the mud to simulate how to clean them as this is how dirty boots can get. Nonetheless, the process to clean and condition remains the same and I hope the tutorial helped!
😂 these boots are so close to new. Not even broken in yet. I do thank you for the video. I will be following the steps. After 17 initial attacks in 2024. They need a refresh.
@@RooftopViewAssembly Yes, they were taken care of very well, it seems! I appreciate you watching. Hopefully I've earned your subscription! All the best.
What's the most painful footwear experience you've ever had, and how did you overcome it? I wish I had these boot stretchers back in the day! 🤣
How should I do this if my feet are different sizes?
Oh, goodness. That's honestly a great question. The answer would depend on your specific needs. For example, if both boots are too tight but one is tighter than the other, then I would suggest expanding the boot stretcher more on the tighter boot until it begins to feel comfortable or until desired results. I hope that helps!
Cleaning before you condition is probably the worst step you can skip
I'm intrigued. Everything I've learned from experts says otherwise. Explain further!
@evumies from what I can surmise from experts, conditioning without cleaning is like lotioning your skin with washing. Cleaning removes dirt and makes leather more receptive to moisturizing. I think the process of boot care is important and both go hand in hand. I clean my boots before I condition them, and I condition them after I clean them.
Why call it asmr if you just speed it pass the asmr
Totally get you. I was trying to shorten the video otherwise it would be 30 min, but moving forward I have put the full length on my ASMR videos, check them out!
Nonsense. Water rinses off harsh soaps. Always wash soap off with water. Water does not damage leather. Soap does
Hey Remy. This video was about "never soaking your leather," not never getting your leather wet or properly removing harsh soaps. I agree with you that water inherently doesn't damage water, but soaking your leather and leaving it to mold up and decompose does. I hope I've made it clear. All the best in your leather care journey!
Shame youve darkened and lost the 875 oro colour. Red wing conditioning cream doesnt darken where as most others do despite being labelled neutral
Unfortunately that shoes were beyond repair to keep that color from the prior owner who painted them. Though, I do agree with you that the 875 oro color is great. I do love the new color, though!
@evumies still look 🔥
@@B_L_Smith Yeah, unfortunately they tried to paint the leather the same color. Didn't work. Check out the full video here; th-cam.com/video/O-28z1avNdw/w-d-xo.html
@@B_L_Smith It is! I'm sure their intentions were good, but definitely wrong execution. That's why I made my channel to help people better care for their leather. I hope I've earned your subscription!
