    Wait till you attend a remote relative's wedding or funeral in China. You will be shocked that there's even a distinct term for your maternal grandma's nephew-in-law. (Most Chinese don't know the terms either to be fair, i only saw a huge chart once with least 40 different relative terms, and i was shocked)

      Actually, every Chinese person knows these titles. It’s commonly used when introducing people! But I understand it’s can be overwhelming for beginners.

    Hii there ... Could u please guide if I wanna learn Chinese then from where should I start learning ? I have seen ur videos they were amazing but I think u stopped making videos .... Plz guide what should I learn first

    • @ChinesewithCottoncaley
      @ChinesewithCottoncaley 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’d recommend starting with pinyin. In China, children begin with pinyin in school because it helps with pronunciation, which is really important and forms the foundation for learning Chinese. The pronunciation videos I’ve shared should be enough to help you get the basics down. Once you’re comfortable with pinyin, you can start learning some basic conversations, like greetings. Then, you can move on to learning some basic vocabulary. You can search online for the 100 most commonly used Chinese words and start with those. At the same time, it’s a good idea to learn about stroke order and how to write characters correctly, step by step. I recently posted a longer video where I go through the 500 most commonly used nouns, writing them out. You can follow along, practicing five words a day, and repeating them. This way, you’ll get used to their stroke order and meaning. After that, you can start learning some basic grammar. Chinese grammar is pretty simple, but the key is practicing a little every day. I know you’re eager to start having conversations in Chinese, but remember that learning a language takes time. With daily practice, you’ll definitely see progress. It’s also helpful to get a textbook to guide you step by step and build a solid foundation. In a couple of months, I’ll be starting my online lessons, and you’re more than welcome to join! Keep going and stay positive! You’re doing great, just keep at it and you’ll keep making progress!

    Please why don’t you write the meaning of words in English when you combine For us to know what it stands for

    • @ChinesewithCottoncaley
      @ChinesewithCottoncaley 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Because there are so many words with the same pronunciation. Like 明 名 鸣 铭 冥 are all pronounced as míng. So there will be so many words. It’s good to know how it sounds like. When you study the words, it will be so easy for you to pronounce and memorize.
