Safariland 557 Concealment Holster Overview
Hi, whats the difference between qls 22 and qls 22L ? Because i couldnt find any video on it.
The QLS22L has an additional locking feature. This additional feature is two posts that protrude directly in the QLS19 fork tines pathway. The posts forces the tines to be lifted over the posts prior to being squeezed to release the QLS19 from the QLS22L.
Says it doesn’t fit a gen 5 G19?? This true ?
No, it doesn't fit gen 5 .40 cal such as G22 or G23. Your G19 gen 5 will fit perfectly.
@ thank you !!
@@zachflores1505 You're welcome.
Does Safariland make a OWB holster that fits the Sig P365 X Macro Comp?
Thank you for your comment. As the X-Macro has a 1913 pic rail, it oftentimes does not fit into the same holsters as the XL which is why limited holster options are available. Luckily, Safariland recently released the Sig Sauer fits for their Solis holsters, so here is a link to our webpage: copquest.com/safariland-solis-als-concealment-owb-holster-sig_23-4990.htm.
Those retention levels don’t have a lot of value if criminals can just watch a TH-cam video and learn how to disarm cops.
👍🏼👏🏼🤟🏼🙏🏼🤠
🤠
I have used the level 3 for years. With just a bit of practice it becomes as fluid as drawing from leather. The peace of mind it brings knowing it is secure on my hip is priceless. We run exercises with dummy guns trying to get them out of each other's holsters. Even knowing how they work it is dang near impossible to get a gun out of a team mates holster
Can you add a leg strap to the QUBL?
No, the VUBL and QUBL are not designed to work with a strap.
Stupid can i get a safariland holster that holds glock 17 and 19?
Holsters made for a G17 will accommodate a G19 as it is smaller.
How secure is it for a 48 without light attached?
The Solis uses Safariland's ALS (Automatic Locking System), meaning it locks onto the ejection port to secure the firearm. This is how it will work with or without a light attached.
Does it also look good on the non rds?
Yes it looks good on non rds holsters from Safariland and BlackHawk.
Open carry people are lame. By Open carry, what u trying to prove? Like a toddler 😂
very informative! I have the regular GLS holsters but did not know there was an IWB
GLS is an oftentimes overlooked system from Safariland. Its great because it allows for more firearm fits and is easy to use. Here is a link to another holster Safariland produces that uses GLS that may interest you; copquest.com/bianchi-allusion-pro-fit-assent-holster-model-126gls_14-1565.htm
Yikes the Rubik's cube of holsters! I do like the GLS Safariland. Thank you for the excellent explanation!
Thank you for your comment and viewership.
Thank you, I just got one of these and there were no instructions that I could see for how to install the shim, or where it even goes.
Glad we could help!
Both of these lights have a strobe function. You need to tap the switch nine times to program it to come on.
We appreciate your comment and are humble enough to admit when we made a mistake! So yes, these do have a strobe...acccording to Streamlight, "The TLR ships from the factory with the strobe mode disabled. To enable strobe, starting from the “Off” position, tap either switch very rapidly 9 times (within ¼ second per tap) and hold down on the 10th time. Hold the switch until the light turns off (about one second) which indicates reprogramming was successful. Repeat the procedure above to disable strobe mode"
All the reviews I watched and none of them were as informative as this, thank you! Used this to properly set up my 578
Appreciate the watch! I'm glad it was helpful.
I have added the attachment to make mine level 4
Good video. Stupid question… how do you attach the holster?
Good question! So this QLS Locking Fork (see link) will attach directly to the back of your holster and then you slide the Fork into the Reciever Plate. www.copquest.com/safariland-qls-19-duty-holster-locking-fork_23-6310.htm Here is a video talking about the QLS: th-cam.com/video/mOq6f8LKFsA/w-d-xo.html
The HL-X I have is 1000 lumens, short lens in front, and the buttons in rear are long-press for momentary, 1 quick press ON, press OFF. No double tap for ON.
Yes, it has a strobe function. It’s in instructions under programming.
Geez, what's the deal with no strobe function ??? You'd think that a nearly $180 bucks at least the HLX would have strobe capability !!! Very disappointing !
It does have a strobe function. You just need to program it to come on.
We are human and made a mistake. The strobe does need to be programed like the other comment says.
as a new cop, THANK YOU!
You're welcome, and thank you for your service. Be safe out there!
I use Nitecore rechargeable CR123's in all my lights.
Not a cop but I'd totally be tempted to have an airsoft gun in one of these and conceal carry the real thing. They would try so hard to get the stupid thing out for it to be a fake.
Does a x300 work for the p320 version?
No it does not.
We need moarrr levels!!!
Level V: Cross-draw of Level IV holster
I wonder if you take the lamp head from the hlx and stick it on the x and work the same but give you a thousand lumens from the 7x ?? You ought to try it out for me and see if it works because I already have the 7x.
It slightly improves, but not nearly the same as having the real HLX.
Couple of things: I know this video is a year old, but here goes. I had a 7k series a few years ago. The claim about not wearing the finish is total BS. I've never had a holster wear a finish off as fast as that one did. Second, the plug in the bottom of the 6k series is there for a reason. If you look down into the holster, you notice it has a little nub sticking out from it. That block is used to stop over insertion of the pistol and the little nub makes sure the pistol is lined up properly by going up into the barrel a little bit. It also provides structural support for the bottom of the holster. I WOULD NOT remove that piece. The light cover doesn't matter, I take them out on all mine
This is by far the best review that guided me clearly to buy. Thank you so much. What a great job!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have been looking for this. I just placed an order. Thank you.
Appreciate your time and business! Thanks for the comment!
@@copquest Received and installed it today. Great product.
Suggestion for Canik Rival RDS w/ tlr1 hl?
Can you cant the QLS on the QUBL like you can on the VUBL? They look different to me so I need confirmation.
Is the QUBL cantable for different ride heights?
They need to bring the dust cover back. We’ve tested these. In a rainy environment, water piles up on your optic
So they still have the dust cover on their other RDS holsters (such as the 6390RDS). www.copquest.com/safariland-6390rds-als-level-i-mid-ride-duty-holster_23-4600.htm The RDSO is just a different option.
@ the RMR HD doesn’t fit the regular RDS holsters. They are missing the boat
@@chadrogers507 The RMR HD is newer and we're hopeful holster companies are updating fits to include it.
Where’s the link for this product?
Great question! All the product links are in the video description. Here's one of the links if that helps: www.copquest.com/custom-holster-accessory-mount-for-duty-holsters_56-0010.htm
Can you attach a qls on the 565BL?
Can I use any of the holsters as a pocket carry
Do you mind clarifying what you mean?
@ can I use any of those holsters as a pocket holster?
These are garbage. You can literally peel it right off the belt with minimal force. If you get into a struggle and have to grapple, this is one of the most insecure attachments.
We've tried taking it off the belt like that and have found it to be very secure. Agencies go through rigourous testing on equipment and wouldn't allow it otherwise.
@copquest not sure what angle you pulled, but if you pull outwards on the grip of the pistol it pops right off with very little effort. If you grab the bottom with two hands and squeeze/lift, it also pops right off. I work in the training Bureau for a large department. I've made them aware and they let people use it anyways. You're giving departments way too much credit in the safety realm. In short, this quick attachment is a suicide holster. It's like taking a level 3 holster and attaching it with a level zero attachment. If you value your life. DO NOT USE IT.
Outstanding video
Thank you for watching!
$214 is not a good deal. Other retailers have this for $125. What up with that?
Are you sure they are selling the HL-X? and not the previous model like the HL?
$214 is a good deal as far as the HL-X is concerned. It's $249 most places I've seen. The HL-X itself is poor value, as the Surefire X300 Turbo is $290 and completely outclasses the Streamlight. It should be replacing the old HL at the same price to be competitive.
@@elitegrunthuntr The X300 Turbo has about half the output (650 lumens) compared to TLR-1 HL-X (1,500 lumens with rechargeable & 1000 lumens with non-rechargeable); so which one out classes the other?
@copquest Lunens only tell half the story, as they measure the raw power out the front of the light. Candela is a measure of a light's effective distance, as well as it's ability to overcome other light sources and punch through barriers like car windows. The HL-X has only 20,000 candela while the X300 Turbo has 66,000 candela. The Streamlight definitely has a wider throw and will light up a room better. The Surefire will have a tighter, more powerful beam, which I would argue is more useful in professional applications.
Appreciate your comment! It could be we just have different preferences and that is why different companies/products exist.
That's way too much. Level 3 is already pushing it. You'll get shot before you get that thing drawn 😂😂😂
With proper training all levels are really smooth, quick, and safe. Most agencies require officers to have a level 3. We do a speed test/demo here: th-cam.com/video/AeRGtaHiIwo/w-d-xo.html
Safari land is right hand draw only. Lefties take your business elsewhere
For certain holsters they are currently, but we sell a lot left-handed Safariland.
The EXACT video I was looking for. Thanks a lot !
Appreciate the watch!
Glock 30S?
Safari Vault looks terrible. I mean the actual looks. It lacks of detail.
Great Video, but Safariland does not consider passive holster retention as a level. It does consider the SLS actions as two separate levels. (I am just a messenger). Interestingly, the levels are correctly described in your "Levels of retention 101" video.
You are 100% correct. This video was earlier in our TH-cam channel history and is one reason why we love our Levels of Retention 101 video. We tried linking it to this video, but we may need to make the update more clear. For those reading this comment here is the link: th-cam.com/video/bJ-WcYdN4Y0/w-d-xo.html
No left hand draw holsters from them.i will take my money elsewhere..fuck companies that don’t accomoadate lefties
We understand your frustration. Sometimes finding left-handed holsters for customers takes a little bit of time, but we do want to clarify that Safariland has a lot of options for lefties....this just isn't one of the models currently :/
Very nice video I currently have a holster offer in ebay for Glock 17 with x300. It the picture says: 6395-832 Glock 17/22 It M3 light 15 19 Do you know what “15 19” numbers are for?
Great information! Thanks!
Thank you for showing this!
Anything past a level 2 is going to get you killed. At level 4, after you're done doing the hokey pokey and turn yourself around, the bad guy will have blown 5 rounds in your body and be on his way to Tahiti before you can even get your damn gun out. I wouldn't even give a department that required a level 4 holster the time of day. They're already basically telling you that they preferred if you just died rather than actually use your weapon.
We do a demo in this video that might help clear up the actual speed of the different levels: th-cam.com/video/AeRGtaHiIwo/w-d-xo.html
