    In Asian culture, and by Asian I specifically mean those that are in the constraining grip of Confucianism and Taoism, it is very hard for men and women to break away from the stranglehold of their parents, who expect an enormous list of duties and responsibilities from their children from cradle to grave. I always have great respect for Chinese and Taiwanese monks. I know how hard it is to escape the family for the sake of Dhamma. For Asians who come from Theravada cultures, entering a monastery is more deeply understood.

    Watching this at midnight wondering if I should dedicate my life to the Dhamma… I want to but…part of me wants to also become a wife and a mother one day…but I also know deep down maybe that thought and desire is what society tells me that’s what I should do not what I want to do… Life in this world especially during this day and age is truly very confusing… I personally feel like the world is becoming more and more obsessed with the 5 hindrances and it’s making me personally more and more confused… It’s becoming easier to live in the 5 hindrances because technology is at our side always…. I feel exactly how she did. I don’t know if I’m running away from life or if I’m seeking refuge….all I know is that mentally and emotionally…I’m very drained living in a world that is all about the current self….😔 I feel like the good karma and love I give to the world and others really attracts people…but…I feel like at the same time a lot of people I meet because of it think I am a weak person that can be pushed around. It’s very hard trying to live in the Dhamma when others around don’t respect you for trying to follow your beliefs and teachings…

    In BBC and Google Arts where I first learned about the great Nalanda University, Nalanda was "left to ruins" in 13th century. As if Indians themselves did it suddenly getting bored. Only now learned that it was actually destroyed by foreign invaders, buddhists and brahmins murdered meecilessly, an entire library containing books more than 700 years old was burned down. The guide here is talking about Indians not keeping records but Xuan Zang was meticulous. I think this is wrong. In south India where the effect of the foreign invaders was lesser, they have preserved books dating back to 150-300 AD. So this is a misconception that Indians didn't keep records. They had a lot of records but were burned and destroyed.

    Tell me? Are you not? A 'Monk?' Because I always thought that calling a Woman a Nun is only because she's Female, whereas once you are ordained there's no difference between ' Man' and 'Woman ' so are you not a 'Monk?'

    Thank you for your kind presentation of you deepest thoughts and yearning for a dedicated life. Being a nun is such a beautiful life. Love, for a way, a tradition, a religion and something fitting with oneself... remembering me reading the Dharma and trying Zazen, reading about the Dalai Lama.... yes... God is the most beautiful thing in life.

    Rambo:Diehard Warrior, the religion I profess is called Christianity and Jesus taught it for us all to obey. You are going to Die-hard if you don't obey it.

      MICHAEL DAVIS : I know right from the beginning that there is only Christianity that teaches its followers to become jealous of other people's religion. Even God himself is so jealous. When one honours other people's religions, one honours one's own religion too. Find free time to read "Pandura Vadaya or Controversy At Panadura" and "THE GREAT DEBATE - BUDDHISM And Christianity FACE To FACE" or watch BBC documentary "Jesus Was A Buddhist Monk". That will help you to be awaken from your ignorance.

    • @rambodiehardwarrior2006
      @rambodiehardwarrior2006 ปีที่แล้ว

      @MICHAEL DAVIS: I knew from the beginning that it's only Christianity that teaches its followers to be so jealous of other people's religions. Even God himself is full of jealousy. Jesus used to be ordained as a Buddhist monk before. Find free time to watch BBC Documentary ; "Jesus Was A Buddhist Monk" or read "Great Debate At Panadura". It's all about a debate between Ven.Mohottiwatte Gunananda, a Buddhist monk Vs Christian priests held at Panadura; Sri Lanka. That will help you to be awaken from your ifnorance. When one learns to honour other people's religion, one helps promote one's own religion. You are adult, so don't behave like a child. You destroy the good name of Chistianity by showing your jealousy and narrow-mindedness. That's why now a great number of people leave Christianity every year. When one honours other people's religion, one helps promotes one's own religion too.
