@@DrOcelot667 you got it, and yours is a perfectly realistic comment. For 1500 Eur, it has to be flawless. But… it is FAR from that. A Mexican Fender is way better than an expensive Epiphone.

@@Twirlyhead I disagree, respectfully. Based on my personal experience, normally price and origin are a good guide, and I never said that a Gibson Les Paul Standard is guaranteed to be flawless. In my experience however every Gibson USA I owned/own was/is absolutely fine with no quality issues.

@@marziograva Many people have had issues with Gibson's quality control, plenty of examples on YT but I only use Gibson as an example. It is understandable with your experience of total perfection in expensive guitars that you may blame any flaw in a cheaper guitar on them being cheaper. Also, the dry fingerboard issue, it is laurel, maybe part of the issue; a shame it isn't rosewood.

@@Twirlyhead absolutely, I understand Gibson’s quality control is not always precise. Now, believe me: for a big part of my life I could not afford anything expensive. Had cheap guitars for a long time. My problem with this V is simple: they are selling it for almost 1500 euros something that is not worth that much. For that price, these guitars should come properly clean and decently set. Epiphone made in China that costs more than Fender USA (the most basic models) but are nowhere near in terms of quality.

Thanks for watching it, and for your kind words. Using my Neural DSP QuadCortex (the preset is called ‘Plexi LoneStar Dual’). This is a preset made by Neural I believe. Top stuff. Used to love my analog gear but ultimately realised the differences are either none or inaudible, between analog and top captures.

I think for this price tag, they should not require any fret erasing whatsoever, but that's absolutely personal. If you think that for 2k you get some PRS USA that play, look and sound like a dream... the Epis here feel like armed robbery. I hope you get my point. But of course, they are good instruments, and the sound is unquestionably excellent.

and of course.. THANKS for watching and for your comment. My guitar did not require any tape on its bridge - that for example is unacceptable, if I were you I would have returned it.

@@marziograva , What i mean by taping when the strings were off i felt the bridge studs wobbled too much within the recessed fitting to which it sits . . just a personal thing , lol

Hola otra vez :) Sorry, I've just realised I haven't responded to your question about the Mark Holcomb model. It is a great guitar, and in general if you go for affordable instruments, the SE by PRS are the way to go if you want good quality for lower budgets. I always recommend the PRS SE Silver Sky for example when someone asks me about affordable great guitars. I have guitars that are worth 10 or 20.000 euros, but if I have to go with a cheaper guitar, my go to guitar would always be a PRS SE Silver Sky. For humbuckers then it would be a PRS SE Custom 22, probably, or a DGT, or Paul´s guitar.

We are too used to Gibson’s headstock, so this one feels weird but it works just fine and you get used to it.

@@marziograva it should be about the sound and playability, right? 😉 Maybe it even improves the tuning stability.

@@alanst.4417 maybe it improves, but it’s hard to tell. It’s a bit of a lottery with those headstocks (Heritage and Gibson). It depends more on the bridge and the nut than anything else.

Thanks a lot!!! The Lazarus comes with the electronics and pickups read to rock, with perfect sounds ready to go! But I prefer the playability of the Epi Slash. If I were you, I would get one and put Gibson or Seymour Duncan pickups in it, and done.

Hi there :) I would say it is less than what a 60's strat or 60's inspired strat would generate. I can tell from my own experience with both PRS USA/SE Silver Sky models and with my 62 strat.

This Fender strap is at least 20 years old. I got it on Ebay ages ago. Thanks for watching the video. :)
