@@brianpatrusevich2144 I've done some with rubber but the added traction chews up the gear boxes... And besides we live in Buffalo NY and it teaches the kids a little bit of counter steer they will need some day with our snowy winters. 😂

@@user-nq1kp4ec8o I've done that on some but it' puts a lot more stress on the gear boxes... Plus this way they learn how to countersteer/drift 😂

Oh yeah... You'll burn them up for sure running more voltage than they are rated for

@mikewebster919 how did you not burn yours up? I ran this dual battery on a 24 volt razor quad for 2 years no problem though. Seems power wheels can't handle it though

What do you mean "just the last come on" ? If you put the stock battery back in does it work ? Was it 6 volt or 12 volt originally?

Usually either mltoys.com or a local hobby store for the motors. They are the same motors that are in rc cars. But ml toys is a great resource for all parts for modifications.

Like 15 minutes. They don't run longer they just run faster.

The 60 volt batteries would be fine... But your motors will never take that kind of voltage. If you hook them up they will probably run like a raped ape for about 15 seconds... And then they'll smoke. Once you get the smoke out you can't get it back in... Lol

@@tonymorales3127 Yes 24 volts should be okay... I have fed as much as 36 volts to new motors.... Like the Traxxas 775's or something like that. Chances are still pretty good that if you feed anymore then 18 volts to the stock motors you're going to destroy them. But destroying them just means that you get to upgrade them. 😀😀

Hmm... I had no problems like that. I do have batteries just crap out after a while though. Maybe they just both quit at the same time? Or... Where they too hot ?

Not sure what you asking here? Anything over 12 volts is an upgrade and will go faster. Or if you wanted to use a marine battery you will get longer run time.

The 6 volts prob won't take 18v too well. The 12 volts do ok at 18 but 6 is pushing it. Only one way to know...😀.

@@mikewebster919 yup, burned out my circuit board, i had to order a new one for $19. I wished i read ur comment before, lol live and learn. as soon as i hooked up battery and placed the seat it started to smoke.

@@mikewebster919 yup, the good thing is I was able to order the board from the company that makes it, ended up paying $30 for parts and shipping. I first went two repair shops to fix the board but they could not get the fuses that were sauderd on, but im glad i was able to order it online and not trash the whole car. :) I was affraid to burn the motor but instead fried the circuit board.

@@akbarbukhari yeah def. Boards are far more critical then motors. And when you burn motors that just means you upgrade when buying new. 👍

Not yet. I've used 36 but your def going to smoke typical motors and gearboxes if not upgraded.

There already is a fuse inline on mine. You can't see it in the video because it's after the hood. And yes real tires will be better but watch out for stripping gears. Your putting alot more torque on them because the tires don't spin like plastic ones. Happy moding!

Yea I can definitely see that happening, I just ordered 2 new 24v motors with metal gears just for that reason, lol I never thought about using drill batteries, I have tons of Milwaukee batteries so I think I might give it a try.

@@ttali211 yeah def. I have a video on the metal gear install too...but it's pretty self explanatory. The Milwaukee batteries should work. Have fun.

Cool. Glad to help. But watch out in adding traction....your def gonna start to smoke gears. The more traction you have, the more stress/torque your going to put on the gears. You can always replace the first drive with a metal one from mltoys.com. Good luck and happy moding. 😀

At the very least get the controller that removes the auto stop after the pedal is released. It let's it freewheel rather than instant stop. It is less stress on the gears but you will need to make sure that you kid knows that it won't stop as quick. 😀

@@mikewebster919 ahh good point.. I didn't think about that.. Traction causing more strain on the gear.. This is all new to me, first kid, first power wheel purchase.. Never knew what ppl do to these things til I went down the youtube hole of power wheels for about 3 hours lol.. Thanks for the advice!!

I wonder what's different about kidtrax motor setup bc they come with rubber strip on tire but what you said makes a lot of sense about traction adding stress to motors.

Been running my kids powerwheels on 18v lithium Milwaukee batteries with Traxx motors for two years now on grass and hills with traction upgrades and haven't had any problems with gearboxes at all.

Not totally sure. They are typically all the same from what I've seen. It's just called the first drive .

yeah buddy King. With the 18 volts it's only one ah rating...and you'll get about 10 minutes on each one. But I've since used my 20 volt batteries and have used from 2ah to 5ah and I will get 15-20 minutes on the 5.0s. Although alot depends on terrain like grass vs road. Have fun.

hifivelowfive you should be ok with 12 or maybe 18 volts. But not 36. All of the components on this Jeep is meant to run on 12 volts and it was fine. You can give them quite a bit more voltage than what it initially has. And even if you do fry it... That just means you have to replace the motors with better/faster ones...😀😀😀

+Mike Webster I've replaced the motors. And it now runs off 3s turnigy 5000 batteries. It carries me fast and I'm 15 stone. I'll upload the video in a min haha

brayden Zambrana you only need the first one. The reason being is that the metal pinion drive from the motor will trash the plastic first gear. The metal first one will take the load and the rest will be fine. Happy moding.😀

So they saying if I change the pinion I have T10 pinion if I go higher what that means speed goes faster I won't get stuck in gear or we came or gears how that works do that going to affect the rest of the gears it don't matter the rest of the gears he just opinion that will do the traction of the speed

vaughan waight yup... That'll work too. I also used 2 deep cell marine batteries and hooked them in series for 24 volts. Was nice because they ran all day.

Donovan Bryant Nothing. The only advantage to the steel first gear is that it being stronger takes the load of the new torque that is created because of increased voltage. The subsequent gears have far less load to them because of the gear reduction. The metal pinion gear from the motor will strip the plastic ones and obviously won't strip the metal ones. Make sense?

Don't use rubber tires on these. You will blow the motor. They are intended for these tires to break loose. I was reading up on that as well. I did however see ml toys selling a regulated pedal. Almost like the trigger to most electric drill motors. The more you push the faster it goes. Also have the opposite on lifting the pedal. I might go this route.
