The problem with lights take on criminals is that he is judging people who are allready judged, thats why they are in prison. He is very ego-centric and even if his idea of "justice" causes less crime, then we have to ask what is the cost of freedom? I mean if i lived in a world where kira exists, i would still worry if i werent a criminal. We have seen light kill investigators and lesser criminals for less and the power corrupts him. Crime have dropped in the world, but we forget to incorperate what light did, as a crime, and not just A crime, but the BIGGEST crime of all. I would argue that the net amount of crime has increased due to that fact. We just moved the net amount of crime the world would commit to one person instead.

While i disliked when L died, i couldnt have asked for a better ending than this. Seeing light like this, loosing it and now running away knowing nothing awaits him. Such an impressive scene.

I wish L somehow faked his death and was giving n instructions. Near doesnt deserve this win, the whole show he did nothing but gain information from outside parties. Hell if it wasnt for mello they all would have died here. At least mello should have been the successor not near. Even light said he was inferior

Light's descent into complete and utter insanity is still one of the greatest showcases of character development done right I have ever seen.

In the end Ryuk came through with his promise that he'll kill Light when the time comes. At least Light didn't get jail time for his crimes excluding when he voluntarily locked himself up when L was still alive to prove he wasn't Kira.

I knew about Death Note 20 or 25 years ago. I haven't been a fan of it, even though a lot of people talk about it. I decided to watch it recently and regret watching it. I didn't even watch all the episodes. I skipped from L's death to the last episode. The last episode is disappointing. Like, where did Light's composure go? I can't even compare to Ajin and Parasyte. Psycho Pass is even a lot better than Death note. I really think it's overrated. Though, I have to mention, Rem is the most interesting character in the series.

Death Note Season 1: God damn, Yagami has an insane thought process no one could stop him. Death Note Season 2: Writers decided that this can't be a story that bad guy wins so they made him beat by a kid whom plays with toys. Same Yagami that was always extremely careful in every step suddenly became sloppy.
