Cliburn's is top level. Nuances, musicality, not just speed, perfect.
Upset not to see Sokolov here
Gregory Sokolov
Alexander Malofeev, obviously. Not this performance in the video, but another one in 2022, with hr-sinfonieorchester.
I don't select a "best". However, I do note how much louder Van Cliburn's octaves were than the orchestra, meaning that he must have had an expansive dynamic range.
Olga Kern is the best th-cam.com/video/AapjpeqmviM/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=JasEndor
Horowitz, clearly. The rest of them sound lethargic, and lack dynamic inflection. Vlad had the hand-size and musculature, and the reflexes to do it right, with accents on the first of each of the groups of triplets, and to do it at the proper speed for generating maximum excitement.
Horowitz in 1930 was INSANE th-cam.com/video/aNhAWnhpErk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wkzPlAQXleeBNrUW
This is kind of an unbalanced question as Horowitz was 30-40 years older than the other pianists highlighted in this comparison.
Они все хороши! Но.Выдающихся- много.Великих,достигших Мировой славы- единицы.Сыграйте лучше Горовица,в его возрасте.Или,хотя бы,доживите до его лет! Всех благ!
Yuja Wang
Horowitz was the first in the video. A great standard to see how very very far the others are from him. The players on the video knows for themselves that Horowitz is on a whole other level.
There is no contest here; Horowitz swallows this entire concerto without breaking a sweat. The Cadenza is simply the delicious icing on the cake.
Ydivitelno vu vsex odno tempo
Horowitz in 1930 was double speed
That list has to be a joke. Yefim Bronfman isn't on it but Lang Lang is. Seriously??
Lang for the intensity, Horowitz for the clean precision. The soul put in the execution by Lang takes it, for me. Several others are just trying to keep up to tempo - hardly what the piece needed. In any case, they all execute what Rach's mindc conceived - and he, he alone, here, deserves the final praise.
Martha
Matsuev and Malofeev ❤
Malofeev is trash the Second Rated with colorless piano sound! Matsuev is so awful! The Best Rach concerto no 3 are Really=Horowitz Grigory Sokolov Van Cliburn Evgeny Mogilevsky Andrei Gavrilov Victor Eresko Vladimir Ashkenazy Efim Bronfman Natalia Trull Argerich and so on!!
Horowitz
Daniil Trifonov. THE BEST ❤
Where is Khatia Buniatishvili?
Matsuev, on ne sait jamais vraiment s'il découpe des côtes d'agneau ou s'il envahit l'Ukraine.
I liked Argerich, I havent heard her Rach 3 yet 😅 I'll have to check it out 🤑
Lang has the funniest facial expression. Definitely the most entertaining.
Where's Sokolov??? One of the best performances
Will always be van cliburn - sorry
Yunchan Lim gets my vote!!
Nun ja, warum vergleichen???
Es ist doch allemal eine absolute Meisterleistung dieses schwere Werk überhaupt spielen zu können! Warum muss man da vergleichen???
All except Lang Lang
Horowitz, malofeev selon moi, pour l'élégance, la clarté remarquable du jeu
Danii is just prepping for his COD match after the concert.
All were magnificent, but one stuck out: Vladimir Horowitz. There's a reason he was first on the list.
How about over all best, I think Bronfman is one of the those.
vOLODOS WITH lEVINE (not mentioned) I was in the audience at the Karajani more than a decade ago. 🥰🥰 Dr Ingram Anderson Johannesburg
Martha! Just so calm, cool and collected.
What gets me about this concerto is the innocent beginning. Just a simple little d minor melody in octaves. Easy as can be, right?
Argerich and Lang Lang were the fastest - at that point probably the faster the better.
Horowitz here is like Mike Tyson against Jake Paul.
G Sokolov. Cliburn. E. Kissin. Martha. Seong Jin Cho a not here he should be. ❤Senior Piano Instructor Gayathri
Horowitz, Bronfman, Plentniev Gayathri
And esp Rach himself! ❤
I grew up listening to van Cliburn.....Like so many others, he never rushed his pieces. He played them at the proper tempo, and flawless technique....My mom's favorite. And,she was a great pianist.
I think the variability of the recordings makes it impossible to pick the true greatest. I feel that because men have more strength, the deck is probably tilted to their advantage, but I LOVE Yuja Wang. My pick for the best is between Yunchan Lim and Van Cliburn.
Martha argerich
Lazar Berman gave a great performance with Eugene Ormandy however everyone here played the end almost identically. That seems to be the most accepted interpretation.
Клиберн
Try this one with J. Pérez Floristán ; overall a superb version th-cam.com/video/CZmvTT3Abz4/w-d-xo.html
Para colmo bonitos
Lang Lang is looking like he is taking on the evil dragon. And finally beating him up and win at the very last chords. What a win, what victory for Lang Lang! Congrats!
Marta N 1!
