Carburetor Rebuild for the “NASCAR” BOOM Tube F250. STRUGGLE to SUCCESS!
มุมมอง 1.2K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I rebuild the carburetor on the f250. After building the Boom Tube exhaust I figured it'd be a great time to check the tune on this thing and make changes if needed.

Is that FE 390
I would suggest to anyone attempting to work on a vehicle made after 1996 (OBD 2) to go buy a Bi directional Bluetooth Scanner and save all the drama, useless parts purchases, and time wasted. I bought an Autel 808, lists for $600, I got it on a Black Friday sale for $400. You will actually be able to set your ignition timing with the scanner. By the way, when I saw it backfire the first time you cranked it I knew it was worse or cap. Pay attention
I have a 1994 Chevy k2500 with a 350 small block and a 2003 Ford focus 2.0 4 cilinder engine with a stick
Man that sounds really good...just wait until the Pipes get broken in...all you gotta do now is stick a tuneup kit maybe a little bigger cam hell yeah
Wow! I like it
I thought bro copped this from that youtuber's exhaust brand... 👀 🙈
Someone show this to Peg @Ziptiesnbiasplias
Add a balance tube as close to manifolds as possible and it will sound better. (Like 2010s nascars). AlsoYif you are flux welding, I recommend the YESWELDER WIRE.
There’s an H pipe in there already. Planning out an X pipe and a dual boom tube setup next. I’ll look up that wire, thanks man.
Get solod motor mounts so dont break muffler mounts
Where is the 4.sludge
I sold it to a guy who is a 4.6 nut. Building a 351W at the moment
Dang, my ‘67 F-250 Highboy needs a boom tube! It’s slow as hell, but it will sound good.
Do it! What motor?
@@EvanNolen1989 352 FE. Very strong motor - all original with 38.6k miles, but has 4.56’s and a NP435 granny gear 4 speed with no OD, which makes it slow haha
Hell yeah dude. Sounds and looks awesome.
Thanks man, appreciate it.
FWIW....ALWAYS pay a little more and get cap and rotors with brass terminals. Most local parts stores won't keep them in stock. Amazon, Rock or any of the big speed shops will...... Thank me later
Definitely
Sounds great. My fun truck is 94 k1500 6.5 turbo diesel. I got a lot of mods. Sounds great with 4" straight pipe to 5" tip.
6.5!
Hey man, killer setup. I've been watching a few others putting boom tubes on their rigs and I'm totally going to do this. Great video. Love the edits. Funny, informative and wicked sound. Oh new sub here.
Thank you! I appreciate that man. Ya, I’m trying to put my spin on it. Got some ideas for the next version.
What sort of conduit pipe was that?
The boom tube was 2” EMT and sheet metal from an old electrical box. The Y pipe is 3” EMT which slips over the 2.5” exhaust collectors.
That truck sounds great. 🤩 You've got me wanting to build one for my F150, just to hear my revvy 3.7 screaming through it. What engine does that F250 have? 390?
Thanks man! I get a lot of comments from people wanting to hear a 4 or 6 cylinder through a boom tube exhaust; maybe I should make that happen. Yes, my truck has a 390. Used to be a 360 tho. Might be a 351 soon…
That booger weld is slick😂
well fuck...guess I gotta do this to the k1500
sounds pretty good.. ive been wanting to put booms on mt Lemans.. my truck is the cruiser so need to keep it quiet
I should do this on my 2k Blazer lmao
It looks great and sounds even better!! Great job!
The reason you gained more power was because the boom tube is a collector much like an x pipe basically the exhaust pulses are helping each other at a certain RPM
Yes! Exhaust scavenging is an amazing thing
Favor to ask Evan, what’s the song you’re using here? I liked it on the video and I see it’s on your short. Any help?
Yes! Song is called, “Voyager X” by Ben Elson.
84 Camaro 85 c20 suburban 89 S10 Toying with doing a boom tube on my S10 after seeing this. And you should do a wood flatbed instead of short box
Nice 80’s fleet you got there. A flatbed sounds way cheaper than what I had planned… lemme think on it. Hah!
You showed us the pure hackery of building the exhaust and then somehow it looks professional and sounds incredible. I love it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks like I’ll have to go back and see what you’ve done to this truck. Sounds great. By the way… 9:22 “I kinda smell something burning” are some of my famous last words 😉. New sub here dude!
Thanks! I appreciate it
Lmaooo that was funny your reaction! ON the broken piston!!! Nice video!!! Fixing to do the same.
Thanks! Hopefully getting this motor together soon
The Craig? Copiando?
Mucha gente hace vídeos de escapes de NASCAR y mucha gente tiene Ford antiguos. ¡Gracias por ver! Craig tiene una camioneta genial
The fly byes literally sound quite the faster you go 😂
Yup, my 45's are coming out and booms going in left and right
Excellent
Ingnition module 103.00 no go...fuel pump replacement 165.00...battery used 40.00...has spark...
Check if you have fuel pressure at motor, also check out the distributor cap, the contact points in there can get corroded easily.
@@EvanNolen1989 cap rotor and ECT.next on the list
Great video. Need the info on that flag headliner!
Thanks for watching! I actually just glued a flag to the headliner.
how are you?. Enjoyed, you shared insane vlog! see ya!Evan-
I just met you in real life, very cool. You and your family are good people.
Thank you!
Crazy I have the same issue with my 96 tahoe and I legit plan on swapping everything out you just swapped out 😂 i haven’t had any luck but I will be doing this week pretty soon 🤙🏼
Hah! Nice, good luck!
I had a guy ask me if I could take a motor that was beside his shop and I said yes turns out to be a 454 big block from the fan back to the tail shaft of a 400 automatic transmission and oil Pan up to the carburetor air cleaner All complete. Can you say money money money. At that time I was getting 375 dollars for a 454 and 50 dollars for the 400 transmission.
Nice! That’s a deal
Yes sir can't go wrong with free.
F@#$&^ Awsome dude, now my turn !
Do it!
I'm edging so hard to this
I have this problem with my 95 v6 sierra.. help now
Sounds like freedom!💪🏽
Excellent
Good videos man ! I smile every time i see new video up !! 👍 you also inspire me to keep driving my 25 yr old truck too !! ✅ keep the videos coming , i watching from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks man, I really appreciate the kind words!
I have a spot north of The Thirsty Lizard that i like to camp out at. Its just sooooo quiet and that clean air.
Can’t beat it
That looks beautiful. How far from Bisbee?
It’s actually in Bisbee, or just outside of the city limits
Well that's the most AMERICAN thing I have seen all day ! and it made my day...
Awesome! Thank you!
Have a similar dilemma 1990 k1500 5.7 swapped in drivetrain from 1989 suburban swapped tcase from k1500 It ran then I lost fuel and spark got it running again now it won’t do either can hear fuel pump prime tested injectors with a little d battery they spray great Tested coil and ignition control module did the wet find trick and nothing so I’m going to pick another icm up and try it again keep in mine I cycled out spare coils and Icms I had around the shop that worked also have a new ground cable from batter to engine with the pig tail to fender
What size pipe did you use to make the boom tube?
I used 2” EMT for the boom tube. The Y pipe that feeds the boom tube is 3” EMT. My H pipe is 2.5” exhaust tubing. The 3” EMT slips over the 2.5” tubing perfectly.
