Sometimes it's better to flatten by going with the grain. It eliminates the trouble of getting rid of the streaks while sanding. For the bottom slats/cross supports, it looks better with 45 degree cuts at the ends. It's a way of hiding them better.

great video mate, got the issue with strating the laptop. the funny thing is in the summertime while the temperature is higher i havnt got trouble starting the laptop. when autum / winter with lower temperature the laptop doesnt start, not even the light for the push botton lighting green. so i thought thats it with the bloody laptop and than i thought it happened because of temperature. so what i tried i hold the laptop over a toaster to heat up the whole thing and i was very surprised that after 2 min. i was able to start it again. so that happened quiet a few times i since than i decided to leave the laptop on during the colder temperatures. now i saw your video and wondering if its exatly that bloody batterie ive got to change? what do you mention? thanks for feedback

For my early 1990 Johnson 15. If your low speed needle is set at 1.5 turns out and does not work for idle or anywhere near it, it can be 3.5 turns out! With much searching, I could only find the answer from a comment. Low and behold it's idling! Make sure your throttle cable is set right and lines up with the timing mark behind the carbs Oh and it's all easy peasy work after removing starter. Good luck 🤞🏻

    • @markbuilds

It definitely had some racking, the 45 braces at the back helped a lot. I just used wood screws through the legs into the table top, I would definitely use inserts and bolts if I were to do it again, I think that would also help a lot. You can get a free desk topper for free off craigslist/facebook. Was the point of this to waste time and money and then stick "cheap" on it as a label? I'm not criticizing just genuinely confused at this much wasted effort/time.
