Hi Stefan, I am also an airline pilot (B777 Captain) and Harley rider. Your videos are very informative, with excellent detail. Many thanks for that. My '17 Street Glide (her name is Rebel) is currently set up with Legend front and rear. While it performs well in corners (I live in a mountainous region of the US) the overall ride is harsh. I'm upgrading (again) with Wilbers rear for sure. But the front has me in a bit of a quandary. I ride 50/50 solo/two up, so the Wilbers Nivomat is perfect. But no such auto adjust system exists for the front. The Wilbers solution for the front is a simple progressive spring on a simple Showa damping rod. While I'm sure its a definite improvement over stock, I can't help but think the hydraulics of the Showa system are still unchanged, only the addition of the progressive spring. So this has me considering the Ohlins FKS231 cartridge system for the front (offering external adjustability and internal shim stacks for progressive damping) mated with the Wilbers Nivomat System in the rear. My wife is tired of me spending money on this bikeSo I hope you will help me think through this "final" suspension solution! Again, many many thanks, and safe travels, Maddawg

Stefan, i have the Wilbers 640TS rear shocks on my Road King. Can you explain how the damping knob adjustment works please?

Poly or stiff bushings in the neck/trees and bars on touring/baggers makes a big difference too.. I changed swingarm,bushings front and rear motor mount bushings, rack and pull for adjustments, and new legends +2 in front & 14" piggy backs in rear.. After the winter motor work, I found how bad my old 2010 bike with 36k miles on it had got.. When you buy one new and ride it stock for 1yr then, full stg 2 w/ S&S 583, V&H pro pipe, & big sucker intake.. Rode it like that for over 30k miles thru 14yrs as I bought it new.. In spring of 2022, she started ticking on the top end, and needed a new clutch, stator & compensator anyways, so I went all out and restored the whole bike.. Took it down to bare frame, all new bushings and bearings, new suspension as I stated, new radio, painted inner fairing, 19in front wheel, 14+ bags & lids, new LePera Step up seat, chain drive, down one tooth on front inside primary, full S&S 107cu inch cylinders & custom ported S&S heads with bigger valves & 10.8:1 compression, S&S cam plate, HP oil pump ect,.. The whole bike has transformed into an amazing riding bike.. I love how easy it is for the M8 to make power, but I love my old analog bike, with no screens, no abs, no t/c, no nothing to impede.. Its so easy to transform a boring old bike into something amazing for $10-15k bucks..

Another great install video Stefan. I am on my return trip from Sturgis and am sure wishing I had enough time before I left to put the Wibers on my 2024 Roadglide. Will get the Wilbers installed as soon as I get back, well... at least give me a few days to recoperated ;)

Servus, Stefan - danke für das ausgesprochen interessante und gleichsam informative Video und die damit einhergehende Arbeit, es zusammenzustellen. - Daß CVOs, trotz "upside-down"-Gabel noch immer vom Einbau des hervorragenden WILBERS Dämpfungssystem profitieren, ist angesichts der exorbitanten Preise, welche dafür aufgerufen werden, schlicht nicht hinnehmbar, muß ich sagen - 50k Tacken, und dann noch immer ein Fahrwerk, an das man Hand anlegen sollte, wenn man angemessen sicher und komfortabel fahren möchte? Kann ja wohl nicht angehen, oder?

Saubere und ordentliche Arbeit, aber evtl. ohne Uhr arbeiten um ggf. Kratzer am Bike zu vermeiden 😜

I saw an American video and they said that all Harley's that they've seen have this problem, but cure it with a front engine mount that is adjustable to give you perfect alignment, not 0.5mm out. Is this correct as I'm led to believe that the swingarm bolt goes through the transmission case ?

For those who don’t want to dive into removing the swing arm and installing the bushings alloy art also has the M8 touring stabilizer I have one on my 2018 street glide and it helped tame the death wobble. The only weird thing is it doesn’t have left and right hand threads on the heim joints so turning the turn buckle to adjust isn’t possible.

Stefan; I have a 2002 CVO Road king, 95 cu.in. would this be the same procedure on mine? I have always replaced my own tires, both front and rear. my lift has a drop out to lower the rear wheel. thank you nice video.

Hey Stefan, mine is 2017 ultralimited and does the wobble at 140km. Will this bushing solve the problem

ok is it necessary to remove the swing arm to install the bushings , why cant you just take out the bolt put the bushings in and reinstall the bolt ?

That is no longer the American Flag due to having that blue stripe. So it really doesn't matter which way it faces. Got in augment with a cop . Who told me the American Flag is red, white, and blue. Because the one they put their blue stripe on is black and white. It's no longer the American Flag. . I STILL feel it's disgraceful to mark a Country's flag in any way . Many gave their life for their Country and that flag represents it.

Danke für das Video 😊 Sehr interessant. Ich hatte an meiner 1994 er Sporty. Müller Rasten angebaut.. Die waren auch prima. Und preiswert Noch gekauft beim AME Geschäft in Kreuzberg 1994 wollte Harley 700 DM für sein Rastensystem haben. Das war mir damals zu happig. Heute sind sie ja recht preiswert geworden.

I have been following your videos for some time Because of you I have installed Wibers on my 2021 CVO 131 Roadglide (what an amazing differance in ride) and will install them on my 2024 Road Glide (same Onyx pearl white color). And if you are ever find your self in the New England area of the USA and want to see the scenery (and maybe do a Wiber suspension install) I invite you, and you may use one of my Harleys. You must attend a Laconia Bike Week Rally some time ( my wife is German as well)

I just installed the cush rear swing arm bushings. I'm experiencing a lot more vibration up front I'm going to change the front motor mounts next

The Wilbers did not appear to be the same length as the stock shocks. I do not doubt a better ride, but are you giving up height (changing geometry) / lean angle?

Belt tension should be adjusted every time rear wheel is removed. Don’t rely on marking axle. What if it was a little off when you started ?

it indeed appears not tolerable any longer to discuss twitchy front-ends, wobbling back-ends, insufficient brakes, oil-transfers, sumping, etc.

... reading some of the comments hereunder, HDs are sadly getting worse from one year to the following (again...), despite enormous selling prices, and marketing promises made.... my advise: Stay away from anything post 2019 !
