How to do a Haldex Service on a 2018 Vw Golf Alltrack using Liqui Moly Multi-Disc Clutch Oil
Hi Guys, in todays video we demonstrate how to perform a Haldex service on my customer Em’s 2018 Golf Alltrack. We won’t be touching the pump on this service just doing the simple drain and refill as described in the Vw repair manual. This Liqui Moly Haldex fluid was just released and is still hard to get! Em ordered it direct from Germany. (I still can’t even get it from my shop distributors, it’s that new!)
The part number is LM 22194
There are 4 drain and fill plugs on the Haldex rear differential and you need to be sure you’re draining and filling the right locations. Please pay close attention to which drain and fill plug is which!
If you are local to Southern California and want to schedule your next service, you need a large repair or you want to install performance upgrades to your Volkswagen or Audi, Please call the shop anytime to schedule or ask any questions.
We are open 6 days a week for service!

    • @matttorian
      @matttorian 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are many many different types of codings available on Volkswagens and Audi control modules. Especially on the MQB platform, the lighting options are almost endless and most all of it is in German so be very careful what you are changing. Control module coding for module replacement typically you will match the original coding and you are good to go. For coding options for your particular make and model you will want to find a forum listing out all the common and available mods for your particular platform. Window changes, exterior / interior lighting changes, alarm horn signal changes, door autolock changes etc. These coding adaptations or long coding changes can easily be changed with VagCom VCDS or OBD11. Just make sure you write down your original coding so you can revert back easily if needed. I've fixed more than a few customers cars coding that got a little too far down the rabbit hole with their OBD11 and major functions like headlights or brake lights stopped working because they had a software coding change that didn't match the hardware and they couldn't figure out how to revert back.

    Hi , thanks for you video, in fact the issue the MAP sensor, here the oil come from where? Do you recommend Cover valve replacement ?

    • @matttorian
      @matttorian หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Jose, some small amount of oil in the intake manifold is very normal and not cause for concern. It comes from the pcv valve which is built into the valve cover as a natural function of the engine. The PCV diaphragms do go bad around 80k-120k and tear and you would get a check engine light, low idle, air leak fuel trim too lean fault. I always recommend a whole new oem valve cover with the built in PCV. The aftermarket diaphragm seal kits are known to leak, repalcing the whole cover is nice as it fixes a potential oil leak from the valve cover gasket.

      These style drains are on 1998-2005 Mk4 Jetta, Golf and GTI. Newer cars have the drains behind the wheel liners. You can clean them from the top of the sunroof frame with compressed air. Open the sunroof and pour water into the edges of the frame and then blow out the two ports in the front top corners of the sunroof frame. Blow both out and then Pour water again and make sure they drain out. Good luck

    Thank you for the video. About two years ago my car started shifting hard. I took my car to a transmission shop and they told me the engine had some codes, and no transmission codes. I took my car to a mechanic and he said he needed to clean the throttle body and replace the MAP sensor. After the repairs, the car worked fine for about a year and a half. I got the same symptoms a few days ago and I decided to do the repair myself. I watched this video to see what needs to be removed. I cleaned the throttle body which by the way it was super dirty. I also replaced the MAP sensor which was covered with oil. I also replaced the PCV valve cover. So far, the car seems to be working fine again. I will try to report how it works in the long run. I still have a check engine light, but it should go away in a day or two. If the light does not go away, then I will go to Autozone or Advance to get a free scan.

    I changed a Diaphragm 2 times and replaced the map sensor also, but hard shifting still occurs. I don't know what to do. There's oil in the intake manifold and i think that's the reason but how can i prevent oil leaking into the intake manifold? Maybe it's dirty air filter? 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @matttorian
      @matttorian ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tazo, if you have no faults and have replaced the Map sensor as well, the hard shifting is going to be caused by a faulty valve body. These Jettas commonly have sticking pressure solenoids in the valve body that will cause excessive main line pressure when hot which will cause the hard shifting between gears, 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts and 3-2 and 2-1 hard downshifts coming to a stop. Replace the valve body in the trans with a good new valve body and it will fix your shifting problem. Good luck

  • @4sineweaver2
    @4sineweaver2 ปีที่แล้ว

    There isn't a diaphram in this device. It's a solenoid operated valve. When I was replacing the fuel injectors, I apparently broke some carbon deposits loose in the device or in the lines. These small bits prevented the valve from seating and caused the computer to report an evap leak (P0455). After cleaning the valve with some choke cleaner, and cycling the solenoid a few times with a 12v supply, the valve started working normaly. You can test if the valve is leaking just by blowing thru the tube on the end by the electrical connector. If it leaks you can blow through it. When it's working OK you can't.

      two things I would try, get a better scanner and if that doesn’t work then try capacitance discharge. follow the instructions carefully, remove negative battery cable, touch negative cable to positive cable with a jumper wire for 10 seconds. this is like resetting the car control modules and a lot of times fixes weird elec problems. also it could be stored as a “permanent code” if you drove it too long before fixing it (thanks California EPA!) which will take two months of driving for it to clear on its own.

    Hello and thanks for the great video. My 2012 VW Jetta SEL has a check engine light. Autozone scan came back with a P2188 code. They recommend that the MAF be replaced but if correct, I don't believe this model has a MAF so, I assumed it was the MAP. I cannot removed the throttle body but before I went any further and made matters worse, I figured I should ask for some advice on how to remove the throttle body or if cleaning/replacing the MAP would help at all given the code that Autozone provided? Thanks.

    • @matttorian
      @matttorian 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      2012 Jetta will not have a Maf sensor just the Map and the Map will not cause your lean code. Lean code is caused by a vacuum leak. You will need a new valve cover with built in pcv valve. You can pop off the engine cover and run the engine. If you hear and feel vacuum on the small pcv port on your finger tip the diagphram is torn and the valve cover needs replacement. It’s a very easy valve cover to replace.

I took it to the dealer and they have told me the raw smell of fuel that I have coming from the vehicle is from the fuel pump access cover and they are wanting to charge me $696 for the repair. My vw jetta 2.5 when the transmission go to 3rd gear the rpm go high end kicks a little but I don’t have any code. You guys think the problem cut be for the map sensor?

      Sounds like your transmission is slipping in third gear if the rpm goes very high. You might have a code in the transmission control module but no codes in engine. You might need a new transmission or full rebuild.

    Thank you Matt for thr video!! I no longer live out in orange county. My check engine light came on for this code for the map senor. Going to try to change it myself!
