What's going on everyone? Sorry that it's been so long since I've uploaded anything. Hope you are all doing well out there. Today, we're taking my newly acquired Fuji X-T3 & Pentax 67 out to Mount Mitchell State Park. I was shooting in JPEG on the Fuji the entire time and am extremely pleased with the results. Check out www.fujixweekly.com for more info on film recipes for your Fuji X Series cameras.

Shooting Film at an Old Textile Mill in Lyman, SC
มุมมอง 5833 ปีที่แล้ว
I came across the remnants of the old Pacific Mill in Lyman, SC while driving around looking for scenes to shoot for my current project, Where Buzzards Roost. Unfortunately, I was on my last roll of film for the day and only had a few shots remaining. I snapped away and knew that I was gonna have to revisit the spot. So, I decided to load up my gear the next day despite the weather situation. I...

Curious to know if this is still working?
Awesome camera, it looks beautiful, has everything you need, and handles beautifully. Got one in 1984, used it like mad.i had to sell it to finance my degree. Then got lost real life. On the way I had canon t90! Canon 100, canon 1000fn, canon EOS 1n, leica d-lux 7, canon 5D mark ii, FED 3, but my heart has always been with canon a1. Do not buy a cheap one, they are old and have problems. Search for one that has been cleaned and serviced. I got one for £130 fully serviced body only. I already have 4 lenses from the canon t90.
very nice series of photos ! I bought a C330f body and a couple of lenses (55mm 135mm) off of eBay (Japan) during the shut-down phase of Covid (earlyl 2020). I have added a 105mm f3.5 I got at a camera club swap meet. Shamefully, I have yet to put a roll of film through it ! But you video is inspirational !
I was looking at your videos and photos and I was saying to myself " I've been there before. And it hit me that it was in sparkle city, South Carolina
How are you getting the camera to release the shutter? Are you cranking main winding mechanism?
Nice v
When I use prism eye finder, the focus seems not clear than seeing it through waist level. Is this normal?
Love the photographs !
For excellent-mint condition the prices are higher from 3yrs ago even without the lens. I've seen them in the mid-$200-$300 range from time to time. Most times in bargain to good condition at lower prices.
Ever had battery issues? My battery dies super quick in this camera
I have cannon A1 camera and want to sell it
Hey there! Did you edit the color profile of these photos? I’m just trying to confirm whether you intended on making all of them look as warm as they do, or if that is just the result of this film stock 📸
Lovely photos and great choice of background music!
Thank you for your expertise. I bought an A-1 from an estate sale recently. You made me feel better of my purchase.
They have issues with battery discharge, just to let you know. An issue I am currently attempting to rectify.
Great video! Do you recall if you were shooting w/ the flash on or off?
I had mine since 1980, feels so good to hold
Love you
I like your enthusiasm for the Canon A-1. You are not 18 and just blabbing about a camera that was built before you were born, you know and love this camera.
I've had my A1 since 1981 and I still use it. It's like a part of the family. I've got four great lenses. 50 mm 1.4 ssc, 28 mm 2.0 ssc, 85 mm 1.8 ssc, and the 135 mm 2.5 sc. With the motor drive along with the 199 A Speedlite. What more could you ask for? Thank you for not making me feel old. LOL.
I just got it a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it, it's my first camera and I really think it's the best one I could've gotten as a first one, sure Nikon FA would perhaps be better but it's more expensive and the lenses are sooo expensive for them, I think New F-1 isn't much more expensive surprisingly but let's be real as a beginner it would be too much, even the A-1 outclasses my capabilities quite a bit for now
Interesting not all of the gs645w have that metal brush guard in front of the lens. So some not need it ?
When Fuji designed the three GS645 variations, it was experimenting with use of polycarbon materials to replace brass panels and parts to reduce weight. The external body panelsof all three cameras use this material, making them quite light for their size and purpose. The GS645 (the folder) uses a focusing system completely different that the other two versions. For some unknown (?) reason, Fuji used polycarbon parts in the focusing helicoil on the GS645S, and possibly also in the linkage between shutter release on the body and leaf shutter in the lens. Even before the GS645S launched sales, Fuji determined that these plastic mechanical parts were vulnerable to breakage if the lens was hit from the front or side, so instead of replacing them with parts made of traditional materials, Fuji added the crash bar to protect the lens. The problem is that the bar only protects the lens if it is focused to infinity and has nothing except a lens cap mount on its front. A lot of folks were used to putting the camera face down on a table to reload film, without focusing the lens back to infinity, causing a lot of breakage. Probably recognizing a serious design error, when Fuji launched the GS645W a year or so later, they used normal lens mount materials, so that version does not have those vulnerabilities and does not need a crash bar.
@@randallstewart1224thanks
I want one..
Got my dad's A-1 recently. The thing is a beast. Solid. Dependable. Enjoying results with XP2.
Great advice. how do you get the slide developed film on the cardboard holder? Are they sold elsewhere?
I’ve shot this film in 35mm and developed it in Rodinal 1:50 for 9.5 minutes and was extremely happy with the results. Good tonal range and contrast. I enjoyed your images and how well they turned out also.
Hey ! What’s the name of the reciprocity app ? Thx for the good work
Had to laugh when you commented on turning around and seeing other people shooting. I went out shooting with a neighbor and every time I finished a shot and turned around I wound up ruining hid shot of me shooting.
🤣you had me at " get away from people".
Not surprised you broke the winder - you were being kinda rough with it! I've had mine 25 years and never had a problem. Groundhog tip: stand with the sun on your shoulder and you won't photograph your own shadow!
Personally I’m not a fan of the orientation sequence, unless you shoot a ton of portraits. And that front metal bumper thingy is also weird and plan ugly. Now those are definitely just minor issues for me that might steer me clear but other than that it looks like a great addition to your camera collection.
FYI the 645 format originated in the 1930s. The great majority of 6455 cameras over the years shot the format in portrait orientation. That is because they move the film roll horizontally. To get a normal, horizontal 645 format, the film has to move vertically, which is only found on the 645 SLR cameras like Mamiya 645 or Bronica Etrs models. In terns of total numbers made over the years, those SLR models are relatively recent inventions, and the distinct minority. As for the crash bar surrounding the lens, on the GS645S it is a necessary evil. Without it, there wouldn't be a single camera working today.
Fast forward 2 years. Price nearly doubled. I got mine for free under the impression it was a paper weight, but one battery search later, it works, LED screen and all. But torn between selling it cause I have a Nikon FE with two lenses so yeah lol.
At home developing anxiety is real!
Alright I've gotta ask cause I've finally found someone who wears glasses and shoots an rb67 with the prism finder! Did you have to get a different diopter to work with your prescription lenses? I had the worst trouble with my bronica etrs because of it and eventually sold it. I really want to get a prism finder for my rb67 but hesitant to do it if I'm going on a wild goose chase for a correct diopter :/
Zach, I just ordered your book. Thanks for doing what you do for the community. I want to start buying photo books from people like you, Matt Day, Framelines, etc. The videos you guys do inspire me to shoot more. I also love learning about the cameras you are all using to see what might work best for me. Digital finally reached a point for me where the soul was gone. I decided to go back to film (I'm 66 so have a lot of rolls under my belt, but it's been years). I decided if I"m going to shoot film I should shoot MF. Currently I"m using a Pentax 645 Nii and Fujifilm GS645. I love them both. Can you tell me about other photogs doing what you're doing and are selling books? I want to see what is out there and do my small part to support this amazing community.
Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words, Rich. Can’t say just how much that means. I packed your book up today, so it will be headed your way this afternoon. There is so much talent out there. TH-cam, Twitter, Instagram, etc are all full of incredible artists. I highly recommend you checking out Bryan Birk’s TH-cam channel if you haven’t already. He is very talented large format photographer who makes some very insightful work and videos.
hey Zach! so good to hear u ALSO have an RB like me. im tossing up between the GS645 or the GS645S. i prefer an 'normal' lens and not so much wide angle. BUT the 645S is cheaper, and i prefer without bellows. how does the 60mm lens go with portraits? I plan on using it in the streets for fast shooting, but if i did street portraits.... i would usually want something not so wide. let me know! cheers!!
I got one in 1979. I took tons of great pictures with it. Retired it after digital cameras came into being. I had it on display on a shelf at home (along with my AE-1 Program) and recently decided to mess around with it. The thing is built like a friggin tank. It still works (So does the AE-1P). All I needed to do was buy a battery. Amazing engineering by Canon at the time. Quality lasts!
Show your snow today 1-16-22
Great video mate! I didn't have much luck with some expired provia 100 recently! You got some great shots and have great compositions!
Thank you. Happy to hear you enjoyed it.
@@ZachParksPhoto yes very much enjoyed it mate! I've done a video of my review!
Nice! I’ll have to check that out later. Not sure if/when I’ll get back to making videos on here, but I’m always looking for ones to watch 😂
@@ZachParksPhoto well look no further haha. I'm aiming to get 1 out a week, usually less then 10 mins long so you can watch on the dunny
I've done some close-ups with my Intrepid and Instax wide film. Very fun stuff :)
I love the A1 my first film camera!
Bought my A-1 in 1978. Shot hundreds of rolls of slide and b/w film through it. Concerts, travel, sports, it never quit. I still have the camera and the MA-1 motor drive. Think the motor drive shot a blazing 5 FPS.
you should come to Myrtle Beach sometime. I could show you some good places to shoot that are off the beaten path. \
Oh man. I love Myrtle Beach. Did a lil’ zine full of dirty Myrtle photos a couple years ago. It’s been a while since I’ve been down that way though.
@@ZachParksPhoto there’s a few places like loris and whiteville and chadbourn that are great for street and environment shots of towns that time was not nice to
Great review and awesome shots! Just got mine. While the price has gone up a bit, I love it. What strap do you have there?
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it. Pretty sure the strap was just a $10 strap from Amazon. Haha
It's cheaper if you just bulk load a 100 ft Kodak XX
Damit Zach. Now I want a Fuji!
They’re great cameras, for sure. I’ll eventually go all in on one of their medium format setups.
Curious as to if you still have this bad boy and how its held up after a year+ if you do. Thanks!
Unfortunately, I do not. I managed to break it shortly after getting it. Really great camera, but they are quite fragile
wow some absolute Gems. My favorite has to be the shot of the Sign where all the red light on the asphalt.
Thank you. This was definitely a fun night. Need to revisit this spot but half the sign has been burnt out for quite a while.
@@ZachParksPhoto Thats a bummer. I would like to try this on a couple bridges over the highway here in Chicago. Im sure I would get some epic shots. Also if you have a chance checkout my channel I have my first two videos up now! :)
Love how you have Brae Hunziker’s channel pulled up in the background. Haha Love the video and your photos. ✌🏾
Thank you! I’m glad someone noticed. Haha
I bought an X-T4 two weeks ago and I love it. It made me start shooting a lot more again, which my EOS-R and 6D MKII haven't been able to do for quite some time now. I've travelled to Ireland this last week and shot jpegs only, to try out a ton of recipes from fuji x weekly and they blew my mind. Also, glad to see you back buddy!
That’s rad to hear dude. I’m definitely digging on the X-T3. It’s been a lot of fun to play with.
