**update** Just got x-rays done I have a pellet stuck in my leg that Trinity missed, but it’s in a spot that would cause more harm to remove it than keep it there…. I’m so upset at Trinity for not getting it before I developed an infection from it!!!!! The main reason Beaumont can’t remove it, is the infection is so bad that they are worried about it spreading if they cut me open….. Trinity didn’t have that risk, because the infection hadn’t taken hold yet. They definitely should have at least TOLD me, and kept me for observation even if they couldn’t remove it either….. No trans person should have to fear leaving their home. No trans person should have to fear being SHOT, even if it’s “only” with a pellet gun when they go out to get groceries. Unfortunately, that is what happened to me on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at around midnight. My foodstamps had just loaded on, and with my multiple sclerosis and limited bursts of energy, I decided to go to the store alone (in my power chair as I’m a full time wheelchair user when not in bed) while my husband stayed home, to go to the gas station. Less than 2 blocks from my home, someone in a small beige 4 door car opened fire on me with a pellet gun, filling my legs, arm, and side with small metal bullets. They drove away shouting “tr@nny f@ggot” at me while they laughed. I immediately called my husband, who called me an ambulance, and then he rushed to meet me. I drove my power chair back home as I bled from 5 wounds in my body. Once I was in the hospital, I was further victimized as they were lazy and apathetic, taking their time to remove the bullets in my legs, hours after making me lay on a metal table, on my back, to take x-rays, which they took their time taking. They refused my request to be admitted, even with my history of severe infections in my legs, which for some of those I had been admitted there. They also refused to send me home with wound care supplies or antibiotics, instead they only provided a script, even after I told them my pharmacy is closed on weekends.
