That’s awesome! You can definitely daily drive a fmvb truck, however there are a few minor negatives. The shifter gets really hot/cold depending on the temp outside lol, it can be loud and clanky while shifting, fuel mileage won’t be as good, and it’s a learning curve to drive it in traffic. Since your truck is a daily, I’d highly consider just building the 68! They’ve come a long way and I wouldn’t hesitate to invest in one for a daily driver. Unless you’re a g56, then absolutely keep the g56 for a daily! I’d suggest a 48 swap if it was a high hp play toy that you beat on often. Hope this helps!

I had it pressure tested and decked at my local machine shop. I was not expecting this head to be reusable!!

I’d say you’re probably right. I didn’t want to invest much into this motor since the goal is to put a 6.7 in it one day. That’s why i didn’t do the top hat seals, because it requires machine work. Hopefully these seals will hold on long enough!

Also rebuild the vacuum pump while you’re there, they love to leak. I always replace the o rings every time I have one out

I had the machine shop pressure test the head and deck it! It is not o ringed, and I decided not to o ring it. I’ll also be sticking with arp2000s again since it’s just a single turbo. Thanks for all the tips though man!! I’m definitely rebuilding the vacuum pump, it’s long overdue.

They temporarily went down to the transmission area to atmosphere. They will be going to a catch can whenever i get the engine back in!

It only made 374hp, however my wideband sensor wasn’t reading accurately. I have a new sensor now so i need to get a revision. Hoping for 400! I’m a big fan of 4th gen’s in general, but i really like the uniqueness of the ws6! I like your z06, i hope i can own one someday!!

They are 22x12 hostile Vulcans with 305/40 toyo proxes. The truck is lowered so they rub pretty bad, if you turn that far 🤣

@ -44 offset? I want to run 305/50r20s but don’t know what offset to get I only plan on lowering the back

I wouldn’t recommend it! Cummins need a certain amount of heat in them to run properly. I would aim for dead on 190° unloaded. My truck had a 190° thermostat in it at the start of summer, but it started to creep up in temp when I would come to a stop. I noticed that it started leaking from the head gasket externally. So i threw a 180° thermostat in it to finish off the summer (at least i thought I did) but i think they sold me a 160°. I didn’t run it very long like that.

Yeah I don’t see many in this color! Only my bed and rockers have been repainted, the rest is factory. I had new bed sides put on it, but i did a lot of the labor myself. I think it was roughly 3500ish for everything, with them replacing the rockers and doing the paint work. I’d look into getting a few different quotes and find a shop that does quality work!
