Is that a normal primer ??
Cornerses?????? 1st time hearing that one in English
Not professional at all 😂
Thank you for the video, it had everything I needed to be able to paint an old piece of furniture. I was about to forget the varnish step.
Don't ever tape the wall
Just don’t tape at all
I agree, however, I am interested to hear your reasoning for not using tape? Is it because, it will mark the wall?
This is the worst video ever. Do not follow lol
Thankyou
Then talk so slowly that nobody's listens to your video 💤 😴
Maybe the camera is not doing this justice. Does not look good to me.
well after painting it how do you clean it???? does it wipe/peel off when scrubbed? and how do you deal with molds and mildew after it is painted??? will molds and mildew stick more with the painted added in??? lookin for this option for my bath but am worried it'll be more tedious to clean if it got icky dirty.
yes wondering the same
Also there's a light uncovered while painting the ceiling
Awful video 😖
I thought we should avoid backing the roller when we have finished with a coat. This would create streak marks unless we use matte paint.
3:04 Get some nice clean cutting in with a brush like that. Looks like the dogs been chewing on it 😀
4:25 Nice Crocs
Clean, etch,dry, clean, paper, clean,tack cloth, primer,tack cloth, primer,tack cloth, primer,tack cloth,top coat,top coat,and,top coat. Enjoy 🛀
Güzel pratik bilgi tesekkurler
damn it will take a week and a half to do your ceiling with all these rules. Yall do know that with the price of painters tape it will cost ya $50 to tape a room.. Unbelivable.
“It’s like a lullaby”
The man "painting" at the end of the video isn't even painting. He dips his roller in the bucket and it comes out without paint. Then he's rolling the moulding with a dry roller. Looks like they just set things up for a video shoot or "How to pretend to paint" demo.
They're just random generic clips just to play in the background to the audio. You're supposed to listen.
Save your time and skip the video and follow this; Dont wipe tiles, then sand. This is the equivelant of wiping your arse and then having a shit. Sand with heavy grit and spray water often from a spray bottle: controls dust. Wear a good mask. Wet sanding is a must, dry sand will just not do the job. Sheen should be dull; now sand with higher grit to smooth it out; same way as before. Now use a primer; and coat it up until its a uniform finish. Then topcoat once. If you topcoat twice your back at square 1 and you may aswell be painting straight onto tile again. Pro tip; Everyone you know whom has painted their tiles doesnt realise what a terrible job they have done; its slowly dying. Karen the housewife and John the tech guy have paint sat on tiles and it hasnt adhered. Do yourself a favor and dont even paint your tiles; and tell them how bad a job they have done to theirs and essentially caused massive problems down the line.
Grout repair is most dissficult for me, if grout is damaged and lines are very thin, what do you suggest?
100% silicone caulk. Never grout the corners. Always waterproof silicone.
I'm watching this video as my "professional" painter only did one coat and the roller marks are hideous. When you need something doing best to do it yourself
This video should be called 'how to turn a 1 hour job into a 4 hour job'. Also, most of it is wrong. Find another video to learn from.
What size spray tip would be good for interior walls?
Terrible video. pictures only and stock pictures
Amazimg Content🙏❤️👏🇵🇭
first time hearing celing paint and wall paint? this must be a uk think in usa ceiling paint is same as wall paint! Ehy do you not use spray machines?
You're %100 wrong there has always been paint for ceilings in North America
Wtf!
My walls come out cracking the one washed down with 2 prime coats on -3 later top coat very smooth unlike my metallic paint that's streaking bad ,shall try with your tips awaiting my bucket filter now -is that necessary for even paint distribution?
prime twice is painting over dark colour.
I thoughts he said paint over mold, and where the mold?
That roller looks completely ridiculous! You have to do a minimum of four coats, even with good ceiling paint....lolz. I just did it, perhaps a $20 roller would do the trick on the first try. Haha
yeah that roller will fall apart after the first paint coat ..i can almost see it now, looking like the tread coming off an 18 wheelers tire on a hot desert hiway.
Did you see his brush?😂
Good explanation, but how quantity requires for 100 sqft area?,
I thought in Australia you have to get an electrician to undo wiring your comments are an accident waiting to happen DEATH BY ELECTRICUTION AND POOR PAINTING TECHNIQUES
I hired a professional painter. I now have primer rainbows all throughout my house. Ever door is rough to the tough. Feels like sand paper. New construction. He never wiped down walls or doors prior to painting. I would never hire another painter. I have repainted every door after sanding. Looks amazing and has saved me $250 per door. I personally wouldn’t hire a painter ever again. In fact we’re in the middle of a law suit. I won. He appealed. The mediator sided with me. His lawyer quit him. Still going on a living hell.
What he was charging $250 a door ...😳
Yeah mines not coming out perfect but when I walk around my house I feel better, painting my bathroom has taken ages because I’m scrape off all the paint they got on the object next to it,it’s coming up pretty good but not perfect,it’s better than it was but, painting sucks 🤣
Subscribe for sure, excellent job
Excellent informative and helpful video. Thanks!
There is not, never has been, or ever will be ANY way to paint bathtubs or tile. The ONLY finish that will stand up to regular cleaning is the SUPER HARD BAKED ON finish that ONLY the factory can deliver. Don't believe me? By all means try it for yourself.
What is super hard baked on?
Paint is baked on at the factory ~ can not be done any other way.
You may be right, but I am reading a lot of people say that they have had good results using Tile or marine paint.
Well for a refresh it's ok untill you decide to buy new down the line.
Good tips, thanks!
What paint did you use.
I never sanded my tiles before painting or any primer. They came out stunning .
Can I ask what brand Name paint did you use?
What brand name paint did you use
does it last? i mean how about the flooring?
I am beginning the job and having a lot of trouble using a sander. It keeps flying off my equipment and it doesn’t seem to be taking anything off the tile. So I was hoping to find an answer that made the sanding unnecessary. Thanks.
The technique shown is perhaps the worst I've ever seen.
After this, I lost the motivation to paint my ceiling.
I was thinking the same thing. After half of this “advice”, they would need to hire a professional to correct the mess!
What about floor tiles
What grit of sandpaper should you use? I've tried 40, 80, 120 and my tile still has sheen. It's a bit of a textured tile. I figures using a very low grit would take the sheen right off but even with an electric sander , the sheen has barely scratched.
EXACTLY! The same problem I am having. Going broke on buying packages of circular sandpaper.
@@pamgrimm8850 I ended up speaking to someone at the hardware store and they told me just clean it and use acetone to clean the tile well. Let it dry. Then paint. It's been a few months now since I painted and the tile has been perfect
@@fadingstarlight all done and it seems to be holding up just fine after a few showers. I ended up using a few coats of KILZ undercoat, all total six coats of paint, and I think it’s very well protected from moisture.
I know this is late but for anyone else wondering 120 grit or lower should work. It will look like you didnt even sand so keep track of the areas you did and do them well. And yes your tile will still have a sheen on it and look exactly like before you sanded. What you dont see are micro crevices that are left behind allowing the primer to stick better than on a non sanded surface. You have to ensure to wipe the tiny dust left behind that you cant see with a tack cloth and reclean and dry the tile. The key is a great bonding primer, I used STIX. Good luck
I read that you use toilet bowl cleaner to etch. I’m about to do that !
Very informative thank you
Glad you found the video helpful Robyn!
