Four Lessons On Political Persecution
Dressed like the Riddler? You might mean dressed like Two Face.. :)
I recall Peter said not to worry about people preaching the gospel, though the weren't "with them." They will either convert or stop preaching it. Perhaps this is like that (but i agree he's not a good choice to teach the gospels)
Preach it brother, preach it. Keep preaching and teaching your Father's truth. Keep on exposing the deeds of darkness. Remember, the Heavenly reward is the person of God ; The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. To forever be in his presence. Love and prayers for you and your family.
It's really very simple. Jordan Peterson is by his own admission unregenerate. He has not experienced the supernatural transaction that is initiated, empowered and accomplished by the Holy Spirit of God as taught by Jesus in John chapter 3 in his conversation with Nicodemus; wherein Jesus tells Nicodemus,"You must be born again". Therefore Jordan Peterson is wholly (or unholy) unqualified to exposit Biblical scripture. Jordan Peterson is just another of many end times false teachers, that Jesus prophesied would come. JP is a Trojan horse that unfortunately many self identifying, undiscerning Christians have welcomed as a gift. He is in fact under the direct influence of demonic entities. He superimposes psychoanalytic theory onto the text of Biblical scripture and therefore arrives at grossly errant conclusions. He has lead and continues to lead unregenerate people and unfortunately, tragically self professing Christians away from God. He should be regarded as an enemy of God and an antichrist type. He should never be referred to, or deferred to as a good man or a wise man from whom " born again " persons can, should receive truth. Acceptance of mixture and compromise is the most ancient Satanic ploy. Do NOT be a spoon feeder but instead read, study and commit to memory Biblical scripture FOR YOURSELF. Understand the times you are living in. The spirit of Antichrist is already in the world and infecting minds and hearts.
I think JP goal is to try to bridge the athiest mind to more of a understanding of religion.
I am excited that you and your Dangerous Friends are coming to Ohio! I'm from Ohio and, although there are some great Bible believing churches there, there is also a powerfully dark spiritual stronghold. Praying for the conference!!!
JP was saying people that use "bro" are narcs, but then he calls us "buddy".
I think the powers that be believe it is easier to change the body with pills and surgery than it is to change the minds. Personality disorders and mental illness treatment takes a very long time and often fails. Plus....people make a lot of MONEY from the hormone drug sales to the many surgeries involved, to the special clothing required (most women's clothing do NOT look like what they wear, and wouldn't fit a man's skeleton even if it did. So we have taken the lazy and lucrative route. What worries me is how far are we going to take it. Can I identify as a cat?
Another example of why you should always read the book yourself! I wish Peterson would have just read the gospels. He looks silly (for those of us who have read the gospels) and leads people astray.
When I first heard of JP I watched him for a few months. I like that he stands for some good things and pushes back against some bad things. But after a while I've heard his perspective on the world and ever since I never went back to watch his content. I prefer people where I can see that they learn new stuff and I love it when people try to bring clarity when they speak. By the way you can be nuanced and charitable in your take and still make clear statements. JP sounds like me when I first think of a vague idea and don't yet know how I can put it into words. Also it is great if you know psychology and it is great if you bring one discipline into a different field. That way you can offer new perspectives. But if you want to be fruitful when doing that then you should not go there as an expert and tell people what they ought to think. Instead you should learn how they do things and and how your skill set can work with theirs. JP seems to me as if he has no interest or respect for biblical scholars. Otherwise he would be willing to listen to them at least somewhat.
it's quite simple to debunk christianity. ready ? the bedrock of christianity is the redemption of our original sin, that being disobedience. okay so far ? the problem with obedience is it must exist for a reason, children need to be obedient because the world is a dangerous place and human society has rules for social cohesion and working productivity. still with me ? Eden was NOT a dangerous place, there was no death, no predatory animals, no roads to cross, and no workplace to be productive in. THERE WAS NOTHING TO BE OBEDIENT FOR ! we as humans grow up with obedience being a thing, that's why we assume it's a universal thing. but without reason, obedience is just an exercise in gods self serving ego, a literal sociopath.
Nice ❤️🇺🇸
JP is a psychologist. That pretty much sums it up. I don't understand the fascination with him. Is it because people think he's smart or profound? People are quick to claim someone is a Christian and rejoice. Time tells. Thank you for your discussion of his series.
I love your videos Jamie. Thank you for this one. I started watching Jordan Peterson's Exodus series and gave up after about 10 videos. The intellectualising destroys the message in that series also. I didn't bother to see what they would do with the Gospel series.
Admittedly I haven’t watched Jordan Peterson’s video but how can the Protestants complain about his interpretation when the entirety of Protestantism is based upon a belief that one gets to reinterpret long standing doctrines to meet their own desires, thereby creating yet another denomination in the process. I mean what are we up to now, like 5,000+ different “Christian” churches? Christianity is true, but if your denomination was invented as a result of Martin Luther’s hissy fit, I’m not interested.
"Jordan Peterson doesn’t know how to interpret these scriptures. Luckily, I, Jamie Bambrick, do know exactly what the Bible means. So listen to ME!"
Jamie Bambrick actually listens to what the experts in the field of Biblical scholarship say. JP has a unique take that is solely inspired by Jung. Usually if people go to some place and everybody reaches a different or even opposite conclusion the that is a sign that the lone outlier is wrong.
@@benrex7775I'd trust Jung before what passes for biblical scholarship in Evangelical fundamentalism.
@@vngelicath1580 Even though I don't agree with you, I could see your point if it was only Evangelical fundamentalism. The problem is that it's every scholar from every related field from the most liberal atheist to the most fundamental evangelical.
He’s not a Christian, but I’ve enjoying watching him on his journey that seems to be going in that direction. I enjoy these series and generally admire his work - net positive. His discussion with Dawkins was pretty good.
Excellent analysis Jamie, and kudos to your viewers who have added some thoughtful and intelligent comments.
Overanalysing the Bible, using it as something purely symbolic and twisting it to fit your own understanding (of which Peterson is guilty) does not lead to having a personal relationship with God and to a lasting change in your heart and by extention in your life. You leave yourself open to changing trends in thought and in your own philosophies (which can be shifted as our wants change). Jesus knew this, he saw through people and thus said this: "Then he began to reproach the cities in which most of his powerful works had taken place, for they did not repent: “Woe to you, Cho·raʹzin! Woe to you, Beth·saʹi·da! because if the powerful works that took place in you had taken place in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes. But I say to you, it will be more endurable for Tyre and Sidon on Judgment Day than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you perhaps be exalted to heaven? Down to the Grave you will come; because if the powerful works that took place in you had taken place in Sodom, it would have remained until this very day. But I say to you, it will be more endurable for the land of Sodom on Judgment Day than for you.” At that time Jesus said in response: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to young children. Yes, O Father, because this is the way you approved. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one fully knows the Son except the Father; neither does anyone fully know the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son is willing to reveal him. Come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am mild-tempered and lowly in heart, and you will find refreshment for yourselves. For my yoke is kindly, and my load is light.” - Matt 11:20-29 Yes, having faith in and following Jesus as he brings us to God is not complicated, not unless we make it so. When you truly want to get close to God and you become humble like a child, he will reveal the truth to you and draw you close. Allelujah!
I liked JP. He is so absolutely full of it here - but I don’t know that he realizes it. He should not be speaking on the Bible at ALL.
A great example of someone who is extremely intelligent but lacks wisdom and discernment.
So her argument is God doesn't exist because He didn't do a good enough job. 😬
The Bible: Pharisees will struggle to understand this parable, but, just this one time, I will tell you its meaning directly. JP: You know, I found this parable particularly mysterious.
💯agree, Jamie I simply cannot listen to Peterson's blather as he tries to explain Scripture.
He's just making stuff up. Literally. As if he's the 1st one to understand the real meaning of the gospels. Why not just read them as they are? 🙄🙄🙄
The whole point of the gospels is that the gospel is NOT complicated and that anyone, even totally uneducated people, can understand it. I can't get over all the absolute nonsense he just makes up.
@@MVL12345There's infinite levels of analysis. Chrisitanity is as simple as you want it to be and as complex too (it feeds the faith of grandmas and yet can never be exhausted by the greatest of philosophers). Why does it have to be one or the other all the time?
Funny, I made videos on this too. Perhaps there are more people making videos too? This could be bad for him...
I doubt it is bad for him. Things that tarnish someone's reputation are usually when hidden things come to light which the fanbase is opposed to. Or when something can be used to cancel them from all platforms. His takes on the Bible are completely open and fully aligned with the expectation people have of him.
Wow so glad I dont watch TV anymore .. I missed that Witch representing Ireland. Great insights thanks.
I've just read Thomas Cahill's 'How the Irish Saved Civilization' for the 4th time over a number of years. Something draws me to this history and YT brought me to your clip. Style was great but I don't know your normal style. Subbed .. and I'll be back. Looking for Thomas now :)
Ersatz Jung - what he THINKS Jung would have said. Jungianism is here a style, a flourish, a menu of meanings, where one taps imaginarily into 'the Collective Unconscious' vat and its limitless stock of Archetypal variations as ultimate explanatory devices and principles of demythologization.
Jordan Peterson should have stuck to motivational speaking. He really did some good in that area. Teaching the Gospels without truly believing in the savior is not furthering the kingdom. In fact it could lead many nonbelievers and new believers down the wrong paths.
The nice thing about God's word is that it still has power when it is abused by people like JP. JP can make some people open to listen to the Bible. And once they are open they start to read it for themselves.
JBP has a different toolbox to analyse the Bible. Take what you learn from this and leave the rest. It was realy helpfull to me a scientific atheist to understand to value the Bible and Christianity, something that I thought was impossible. Now it's not exactly the right words and perspective, like hitting screws with a hammer. I know prefer Pageau and his symbolic approch. One sentence get way more milage. Still I dislike the first degree reading, it's also innapropriate. This describe things that are always happening, not only ponctuals event in time.
The dude is awful
I used to listen. I even went to a show of his. But after listening to the first episode I was done. It's just academics over analyzing. And the biggest issue is that Peterson never can move beyond that. He's stuck. Emmanuel Kant notes that you have to move beyond this to faith. Peterson never does this. And his debate with Dawkins showed this. He can't answer simple questions because he doesn't want to move beyond academic arguments into true faith. He may just have to much to lose.
@@miltonhayek2494 more often than not PhD stands for phenomenally dumb and piled higher and deeper 🙏
First of all, Burger King-or any fast-food chain for that matter-is not the kind of place anyone should be eating if they care about their health. I struggle to understand how Christians, who follow God and are called to honor their bodies as temples, can willingly consume such harmful food. It raises a deeper question: what other choices might you be making that desecrate the temple God entrusted to you? My advice: stop eating that. Secondly, you wear your faith like a badge of honor, which immediately makes me question your approach. You claim to believe every word of the Bible as absolute truth-and I won't argue against the desire to have such unwavering faith. I aspire to that level of belief myself. However, when it comes to extraordinary stories like Jonah being swallowed by a whale, I admit I need faith to reconcile my doubts. I find it hard to believe that anyone has zero doubts about everything in Scripture. That said, there’s nothing wrong with seeking connections between God’s plans and the multifaceted nature of storytelling, as Jordan Peterson does here. While he may not have faith as strong as yours, you are not the ultimate authority on the Bible. I respect your deep belief and would absolutely seek your insight on matters of faith, but this panel isn’t meant to serve that purpose. The Bible allows for interpretation-just look at the sheer number of denominations that exist. Is yours the only correct one? How convenient if so. Ultimately, none of us can extract absolute truth for others; we can only guide them toward it. Ironically, Jordan Peterson is doing just that-perhaps even more effectively than many preachers today. He has sparked curiosity in countless people and directed them toward the wisdom of Scripture, inspiring them to seek truth in the wellspring of God’s Word. That is no small accomplishment.
I find it entertaining that you complain about Jamie having confidence in his views. I'm not sure if you give an accurate representation of his views, as this is the first video I've watched from him. But let's assume you are correct. Your way of writing this comment is just as confident as what you portrayed him to be. Your way of writing this comment is just as dismissive of other approaches as you portrayed him to be. It is near universal consensus among any expert in any related field, that the old testament expects a Messiah which comes to save Israel and the nations and that Jesus claims to be that Messiah and that that Jesus claims that his sacrifice alone is the only way to God. So when JP comes and says that the birth of Jesus is a symbol how everybody of us can reach salvation through hard effort then that shows that JP has never listened to anyone who is even remotely knowledgeable in the field. He ignores one of the most obvious and most well known things and gives it a psychological interpretation that completely goes the opposite way. With that being said, I appreciate that JP is talking about scripture. JP is doing a good job as a motivational speaker and when he teaches psychology. Thanks to that and thanks to him standing up for certain things, he got an audience. I also appreciate that he speaks positively about the Bible unlike many other modern people who dismiss it or who paint it as some evil thing. That's why he allows his audience to also think positively of the Bible and thanks to that they start to listen to what the Bible is actually saying. Sure there is some variance of interpretation and not everything is perfectly obvious and clear. But JPs take is such a far outlier that I find it wholly acceptable to say his take is obvious eisegesis at best or wrong at worst. And I say that as someone who thinks symbolic and archetypal interpretations of the Bible are valid. But they should have their source in the Bible or the respective historical culture, not in 20th century psychology.
I don’t understand why JP didn’t invite actual bible scholars
Bishop Barron is no slouch when it comes to the Bible. In the clips I have seen he doesn't say much.
I can't really stand to listen to this whole thing lol Jordan Peterson is very annoying, especially so when he's trying to teach the Bible. He has no idea what he's talking about.
Thanks for this. I can’t watch Jordan’s Bible commentary
Peterson's problem is he's not saved and he doesn't' have the Holy Spirit.
it's quite simple to debunk christianity. ready ? the bedrock of christianity is the redemption of our original sin, that being disobedience. okay so far ? the problem with obedience is it must exist for a reason, children need to be obedient because the world is a dangerous place and human society has rules for social cohesion and working productivity. still with me ? The video seems to paint a contradiction between the symbolic interpretation and the literal interpretation. Peterson's approach is more rooted in archetypes and psychology. If you want a interpretation that is more in line with the church fathers and more traditional interpretation then Pageau is the guy. I don't mind Peterson's interpretation, it's a good symbolic interpretation that can enlighten how the story is related to other stories in the bible and in our own lives. But we dont forget the more literal interpretation as well.
Mr Peterson is still in the flesh. He needs to be born again. May the Lord have mercy on him if He wills to.
I love your takes on controversial issues. JP has a great mind but watching him a lot in the past year I get the impression that he wants to be a cerebral child of God. He thinks everything can be debated until truth is exposed but hasn't done the actions of humility, or giving over all that he is by admitting he is a sinner in need of the Savior. He can debate, comment and keep a stiff neck but I pray he will find the unerring truth in Jesus Christ that saves.
It all sounds like the god of Muhammad ,Joseph Smith, and my Massonic friends. Emmanuel, for me,that's all i long for.
Tell me you know little to nothing about the Gospel in as many words as possible. And the winner is: Jordan Peterson.
The people who say Christ is only what the plain text says and not also an archetypal figure fail to understand the profundity of how even the mere imitation of Christ in one’s life can be redemptive. And the people who think Christ was only an archetypal trope and not what the Bible says he is fail to understand that no other archetypal figure has the depth of meaning, the patterns of prophecy or the completeness of fulfillment that actually support His claim to be God’s anointed. Both are wrong. Christ was who He said he was AND he is the perfect Archetype of Archetypes in the Jungian sense.
Shepperds were Levits, Jesus was born exacly in one place, pharisies and scribes would understand... on the pastures where they breeded spotless animals for the greatest, main sacrificces.❤
Jordan Peterson's whole deal is sounding smart while saying completely incorrect and things and making stuff up. Haha. His approach to texts has always been terrible. Im not sure why anyone would expect any different. That said, there is still value in appraoching ancient texts from a sexular or non-confessional viewpoint because it helps in challenging our preconceptions. Clearly, Peterson is attempting to have a noncofessional bible study so its not fair to hold him to the standard of landing within Christia. Orthodoxy.
I subbed to DW for this but quit watching after 3 episodes. Even as a Christian who came to faith in part because of JPs work, the over philosophizing and symbolizing of the simple plain reading of the text is almost unbearable. Dennis Prager was the only one on the panel that seemed to be annoyed with it as well. A protestant theologian or pastor would have added some much needed balance to the discussions. A shame that JP actually joked about being the protestant on the panel. Not even close...
You nailed it! I listened to half an episode and was thoroughly annoyed by the lack of an actual Christian. A protestant that is steeped in the Bible. Him droning on endlessly and reading mythos into everything just upset me.
