two months in dominican republic.
some of the memories of my time in DR back when i decided to escape my reality months ago lol.
I learned and unlearned so much
i cried
i laughed
i changed
and stood my ground
i barely picked up the camera those days.. i was busy surviving emotionally lmao.
these are just some of my happier memories of my escape attempt.

#stayinglocal
i mainly stayed in Santiago, but i traveled to puerto plata often, santo domingo, and went to punta cana. This is not an all inclusive resort vlog lol (i did go to a few though) I stayed locally and basically lived there for two months.

even if it hurts, and it will, we have to feel what we feel. We call this stage the epiphany phase. You get conscious of your biological clock ticking, you finally realize your type doesn’t offer you stability so you have to settle for a safer “provider type”. Only issue is your attraction to him will fade out pretty fast coz you am had a type, so you break the relationship up after two kids, roughly at the 4 to 6 year mark, and the excuse? Coz y’all grew apart. And back to the cycle of your type, you don’t need no man, men ain’t ish and all that mess women talk about. This is how 25% of black women ever experience marriage, 80% + of black children are born out of wedlock, and to a minority of black men.

    • @okandwhut
      @okandwhut ปีที่แล้ว

      that's why we need to stand on our boundaries and only give access to those that meet our non negotiable standards.. the issue is way deeper than this though. We can't keep blaming women for mens’ short comings.

    • @MrBaskins2010
      @MrBaskins2010 ปีที่แล้ว

      black women are marginalized in every aspect of life from the workplace to healthcare. we need to admit that black men often exploit this vulnerability for their own personal gain. for too many years we blamed the "Ms Independent" type instead of blaming "Mr WeDontLoveTHeMhOeS:" men need to start holding other men accountable for their actions in all relationships, not just romantic ones. this racial infighting distracts the working class from the real battle we face from the financial powers above. keep your head up but learn to listen to women before speaking on them

    Did you have savings when you quit? I've definitely quit jobs before but I had several thousand in savings first because it could take a few months to find something else. I Agree you should quit a job when you dont like it but it is in your best interest to make sure the bills are covered for the next few months before you make emotion driven decisions. It is not an act of self care to impulsively quit a job because you don't like someone there without something else lined up. Quit, but make sure you're covered first. People watching this should watch with caution. DONT DO THIS if you don't have savings/another job lined up!

    • @okandwhut
      @okandwhut ปีที่แล้ว

      I never asked anyone to do what I did, simply sharing my experience <3 I disagree, I think we should absolutely make emotion driven decisions after much reflection ofc. Your emotions are here to communicate w you and ignoring what your body is telling you would be a disservice to self. I live alone in NYC lmao, so trust that it wasn’t exactly an impulse. Unfortunately we can’t control everything that happens in life
