Hey math friend! I'm Brittany Hege and I'm here to help you better understand the math concepts you teach, create more "lightbulb moments" for your students, and find fulfillment in teaching math. I truly believe every child has the ability to learn math at high levels and every teacher can teach math with great effectiveness. We are ALL learners!
After time spent teaching, coaching, and doing intervention work with students, I began to expand my work outside the walls of my school which has been incredibly fulfilling. I've now helped thousands of upper elementary teachers grow as math educators and helped over 100,000 students "experience" math, rather than simply learn it through rigorous, hands-on resources.
Subscribe to the channel to get hands-on ideas for building students' conceptual understanding in 4th and 5th grade.
I'm so glad that you're here ð

Healing Students' Relationships with Math (Vanessa Vakharia)
In this conversation with Vanessa Vakharia, author of Math Therapy and host of the Math Therapy podcast, we had a great discussion about how math anxiety impacts students' relationships with math and how our own experiences in math play a role in our work with students. We talked about teaching practices we need to think more critically about and Vanessa shared some wonderful ideas for how we can help students become more aware of and navigate their feelings around learning math.
