Got some great new music last week (finally) and was super motivated by these etudes. Gary Schocker is an American composer, and this etude is marked "chorinho", a 19th-century Brazilian popular genre reminiscent of the tango. In Claude Debussy’s “Syrinx” for Solo Flute, Pan (think: mythological half-goat with panpipes) chases after Syrinx, the alluring nymph.
