Morning after laminectomy 12/15/2022. i had L3, L4, and L5 worked on. I had a herniated disk on L4. Dr opened up lamina to allow more room for sciatic nerve. He removed fragments of disk that were floating around vertebra including one bigger piece 1 cm long 1 cm wide and 1/4 cm thick impinging sciatic nerve against lamina and vertebrae. After 5 days I was off all narcotics. I continued Tylenol and/or ibuprofen. Also, take small dose, 50 mm, of Lyrica 2 times a day. Bottom line this surgery really helped me and recovery was quick. I have 6 weeks of no lifting, twisting or bending over. I have done as much walking as my body will allow. Good luck and prayer for those needing this surgery.
