My 40 plus year old Juki LU-562 won't change stitch length - when pushing the button it will not hold in the groove. I feel when it passes it. Is it possible it worn out???
Hi, thanks for the video, very helpful! When I try to change the stitch length on my singer 300w, I can only turn the hand wheel about half an inch even with both buttons depressed. Any idea what’s up with that or why I can’t adjust the stitch length? Thanks
Buenos dias cual es la diferencia entre 562 y 563? Gracias
562 is a small bobbin and 563 is a large bobbin
@@bridgewatersewingcentre muchas gracias
you are welcome
Hi this was very useful! would you mind doing a video on all the parts of this series machine abd how to use it? i’m in need of desperate help! Thank you so much
Hi I want to put a direct drive servo on my Juki 1541s do I need a special direct drive servo or can I use a thousand watt one I bought on eBay?
The 1000 watt one that your bought would be suitable.
Thank you for taking the time to post your video...... I was able to fix a problem following your instructions.
Glad it helped
You did a good clear job of explaining timing adjustment. I always say hook point to neeldle clearance is no light between them without them touching each other. I think it would be good if next you would have explained adjusting the needle guard. With these tight tolerances, any side needle deflection and good bye hook point. Just for added thought, most of these machines are old. Cup screws get worn as well as other parts and normally they have been worked on by many people of different skill levels. If you've owned a machine a long time then you know its condition. If you've recently acquired it, best to go through it. These are tools for doing real work. Don't want any downtime.
Hello there guys! I have a direct drive motor on my Juki 8700H heavy duty model it’s 1000watt eBay direct drive I installed myself overpowered for that machine I’m sure. I would like to put that motor on my Juki 1541s but the Juki 1541 shaft is bigger and I would need the proper shaft collar for the 1541 not sure what size that shaft is or what that shaft collar is called or how to order one I could use some pro advice for that. Also they claim those motors are for light duty machines and maybe medium duty it is 1000watt though would you say that would work for the application I want to use it for? Main reason is I would like to get rid of belt altogether I have a regular 750 watt servo on it now. Thank you for any advice you could help me with and sorry if I rambled lol
Would have to see your machine as I dont know without looking at the shaft size to tell you what you want to know. 1000watts should work ok for the 1541.
Thank you so much for this video super informative
Glad it was helpful!
Question, at the end about the walking foot…I’m wanting to raise the rear foot a little when it’s in the down position. It dents the leather as I feed it through and I think if I can raise that rear foot it’ll resolve that issue. How do I raise that?
Lifting the foot would not help this issue. Basically all you can do is slack back on the pressure.
My new 0303 D machine stitch length was on 5. However, the dile - knob was very tight. I didn't use forse, instead, I unscrewed the knob mechanism which apeared fine. Problem is the stitch length is stuck on a long stitch about 7mm long no matter what number I set the dile-knob on. Can you help please?
This would have to be adjusted in shop.....
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate your detailed explanation and close up video! You’ve saved me loads of time and repair bills!
Glad it helped!
Hi there, thank you so much for the video, I just purchased a ikonix KS 335A which looks just like yours. I'm running Nylon 69 as this was recommended, but the thread keeps on unraveling and birdnesting on the bottom, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 😊
I recently purchased an iconic KS-335A and have had multiple issues with it...they did not provide a viable manual ~ the paper one appeared to by a mimeograph from the '70's....the one online was not much better....Their videos show an entirely different way to thread the machine than the manual as well as differently than the unit in this video....I had significant "bird nesting" and discovered the threading was the issue... I am very frustrated.
Your tensions may be to tight for that type of thread.

Hi thank you for your video, very useful. My stitch button isn’t entering the groove of the eccentric mechanism.. the mechanism seams to be off a little to the right. How can I fix that? Thank you in advance
The bottom gear is adjustable left to right.
Great video!!! Very helpful, thank you.
Outstanding! I wish this had been available ten years ago, when I bought my LU563. I haven't used it for a while, and it was not being very cooperative. Thanks to your video, I think she's purrin', again.
Thank you for this comment. We are happy to hear that this video helped you. This is why we create the videos. :)
Where can one find the coils of that machine, thank you
I am not sure what you are asking...
Do you have a parts list to convert a 562 to a 563?
all you would need is a parts list for a 563, you would need the hook saddle, the gears and the hook assembly.
Great video, it's been a big help. I didn't notice you mentioning anything about the oil level in the reservoir for the hook assembly at all though. And isn't there any way to oil the mainsheet bushing by the hand wheel?
The only way to get oil there would be to take the top cover off.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I just bought a used Juki LU562, and I hope to use these techniques to make my machine sew as it should.
You might be able to help. Ive tried to remove the bobbin carrier. I've removed the 3 screws but the bobbin won't lift out. I think there might be thread caught between it and it wont rotate.
Sometimes you have to take two screw drivers , using one as a hammer, and gently tap on the bobbin case base to get it moving around and it will eventually pop out, as long as you have the gib removed. Using a hammer could break it.
Absolutely amazing thank you
You are welcome.
Hello neil. Could you please do a video on how to set the stitch width and do a trouble shooting video. The amount of movement for my widest stitch and narrowest stitch is only 1/16” wheel movement. And it doesn’t seem right. There’s way too much room that’s not being used at all. It’s a singer 221u566a also. If I hold the button down and turn the wheel, it doesn’t have very much adjustment that’s usable. And my stitch should be able to go much wider. Thank you in advance.
Next time I have a chance I will do a video on this.
Do you know where i can find a tutorial to change out the presser foot bar on the juki Lu-562
The next time I have a chance I will do a video on this.
Sir , I have a Paff 335, very recently I had a problem of tagging . When I pull down the tagging bar feeddog is not moving reverse. Please help me to solve that problem. Thank you in advance.
I would have to be looking at the machine in order to help.
You just taught me things I didn't know I needed to know :) Very informative video, thank you sir!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the helpful video! I bought a "non working" 111W155 to do my own upholstery on a car restoration project. About 6 hours ago I did not have a clue how these worked. I will keep the story short by getting to the punch line, which is there are two sliding cover plates on each side of the needle/foot area, which at first glance look identical, but turns out they are not. I am sure you are chuckling right now because you know what the important difference is. The upside is I needed to get familiar with the machine anyway and made all the little adjustments in your video, and after 6 hours of frustration it made me laugh too, when I realized that all I needed to do was switch those two plates around because one of them has a recess in the bottom of it so the thread can pass over the top of the bobbin case.
Thank you for the comment. And for visiting the page.
You mention at the end, lining the plunger up top with the button on the bottom up. Mine appear to be off now, what do you do to line them up? I was trying to increase my stick length for the first time and I think I goofed it.
The bottom button does line up with the D line, but the top appears to have slipped to L
I would push the top button down first until it falls into the groove then line it up to the specified spot you want and make sure the button falls completely out. Once done the top do the same with the bottom.
Hey Chet did you figure this out? Might have done the same by accident, now I can’t spin the hand wheel to adjust the stitch length
@@ImSkybii yes I did, I don't recall what I did but it might have been the reply above me
Just what I needed. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Why does my machine cut thread when it goes through takeup spring?
Your take up spring would have to be replaced.
Could you please make a separate video on just the bobbin release finger? how to time and adjust the finger itself would be amazing.
Will do this next time I get a chance...
You are The Man Neil. Thanks
Hey Good Morning! I hope you will be fine, Kindly make a descriptive video on Juki DNU-241. It should all setting of machine included. Thanks
Thank you sir. Great video .
You are welcome
Fantastic video. Can I ask how I slow the machine down. Minimal petal press and it takes off full speed. I have slacked the belt and taken the take up on the clutch lever and pitman arm to the petal like you showed in the video. The machine runs too fast
A servo motor will fix this problem.
Hi! I have the same sewing machine just different brand but exactly the same set up. I am having problem with the thread coming out of the take up spring all the time (that spring after the tension before looping to the lever) when I try to stitch on fabric. Have you experience something like that and if so, how do you fix it? I Would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
Sorry for the long delay. Try increasing more up and down action.
hi how i can delay the needle bar in my 211u165 because is arriving before the presser foot?please thanks
this is explained in my video. Please go have a look
Ty for onother tutorial, i see alot of parts in in difrent machine is the same, where do you find good quality parts if you have to replace something. Do you buy chinise parts or you buy original when you fix it.
Most all parts these day come from China.
Ty for video, where do you buy your parts?
Great informative video! Thanks for taking the time to make it! I have a Juki LU-562 and it vibrates at higher speeds. Is this normal? The counter balance looks like it is in the correct orientation with respect to the needle. Cheers!
This would be normal.
Thank you, Neil. This is very helpful. I also have a mercury m 111 h sewing machine with the foot on the plate and I cannot figure out how to raise it. As you can see it is an older machine that my wife REALLY likes. Your wisdom and guidance would be greatly appreciated. I realize it is an old machine and you are pretty young so either way Thank you.
Sorry I do not see any pictures.
Pfaff kl-1471-751/11
I pushed the stitch length button to release my clutch from a jam, now the reverse lever moves when I try to sew. What is going on? Can you help me?
stitch length may now be too long
i have a singer 491 and just got it adjusted however I noticed the reverse works up to 6-8spi but literally nothing after 10 or more. Makes locking stitches a pain because it cause a ball of thread in the material unless it does it automatically 🤷♂️
the stitch length between forward and reverse would have to be adjusted.
What is the big spring screwed on the base of the sewing machine ?
this spring just holds down the plate
My screws under the plate keep getting all dusty with metal from the plate pushing on them so hard. Do I just loosen the screw so the plate isn’t pushing so hard?
Thank you so much for this instructional Video. I just purchased a machine similar to this and I am looking for a cording attachment that would be compatible with this machine. any help would be greatly appreciated
you should be able to locate in your area, would be the same as a pfaff
I have a juki lu 562 and i can not regulate the upper thread tension. It is so tight the thread frays at the needle. Any suggestions?
make sure the bobbin tension is not really tight. more on the bobbin then you have to increase the top
