How do you get the passenger side cover back on? I had a terrible time getting it out and now I can’t get the bottom tabs in to close it up.

Dear Saul, is it possible to get your email or other contact details? I have exactly the same SEC560 and I’m going to lower it. Your way seems the most reasonable because there’s no too much interference in car originality. Would like to know more details about springs and front and rear height and finally what size of wheel you wear on it. Will be thankful for your help. Kindest regards Conrad.

I'm jealous, you have the cars I want. However I think the SEC should not be lowered or any W126. They look more menacing at the proper height. Lowered they look like they need to be fixed.

What happened to the additional mods??

I've got a '94 S500 (W140) with the same rear suspension setup. I had to laugh when I heard you say "dead guy in the trunk!" I had the same problem until I replaced the accumulators. Luckily for e, my car was a one owner out of Vegas and there's not a speck of rust anywhere on it. Much easier to do the rear work that way. Nice car, man!!

Why lower an 560 SEC?

I am in Toronto area. I have owned this car for around 5/6 years. You do not see this car around very much. It's difficult to understand why they are so under appreciated as they are really nice. I am very interested to see what you do with this car re mods as you would think you could really get horsepower and performance increased as you have a pretty nice engine to start with. I also have a 560 sl ( which are all over the place) and a 73 280sel 4.5... which you never see up here..

upgrade the engine, you have a detuned version. in europe it had 300 hp.

I picked up a gorgeous 1985 500 SEC, euro import so the higher horsepower. 106k miles. I am on 16 inch BBS RA wheels, which are as smooth as butter. No SLS rear suspension. That makes things easier for maintenance but it doesn't drive quite as nice as the 560 SEC I once owned. Currently stock height with new front and rear shocks. Quite frankly I think I'll keep it this way for a while. I would love to see more videos on your SEC. It's a gorgeous example.

I "discovered" these a few years back at a car show. A guy had a beautiful 91 560sec in black and was asking 11k for it. I looked all over it and couldnt see any obvious problems. 11k for a car that was close to 100k when brand new ? What gives ? It had under 150k if I remember right. Im sure it could be expensive to fix a broken one, but id like to learn more about them.
