Good overview. After playing it Inwould agree with a lot of your points. I wish the worker placement side of things was more streamlined and tighter. Less public spots making your castle upgrades more critical to win. I didnt love that you had to use a worker to activate an attack on the opponent's castle. Felt like that shouldve been automatic after the worker placement phase. Overall ot was ok. I hope the rumored expansion gives it more direction and streamlines it.

When you finished before lunch, the Tomekeeper only took 3 moves to reach location 3, he should have continued moving for his last move back towards the center space.

Curious if there was an editing pass missed for the video. There are some pauses that seem ripe for cuts.

If your playing with just 2 people, should you cut the deck down? My hubs and I played for the first time and we both ended up with hands that were almost impossible to play. So just wondering if there's like a have 10 of these and etc. Type of deck set up that would make it better to learn on?

At the beginning, if build card is at 3, you can only build up to a size 3 enclosure. Also, you do not start with an x token. I’m not sure if this is corrected later. All the ark nova videos I’ve seen have some mistakes, but everyone was still learning.

Too many mistakes. Only putting 1 beer on a brewery during rail era. You don't get to choose.

Very first play of the game is illegal move. Cannot put coal in the market when the coal mine was built because there was no connection to the market. Two coals should have been on the coal mine and no $1 received.

Can anyone answer this for me, I can’t seem to find it in the book. Does health reset after each scenario? Does misfortune and discontent reset after each scenario? And does danger reset after each one? Thanks for the help in advance!

When is the correct time to include the expansion? We have just purchased the 2 pieces (base game and expansion), but we haven't played anything yet. Is it a smart idea to play the first scenario without the expansion (just base game), or do you think its better if we learn and include the expansion from the beginning?

Small point of order - you cannot harvest the same field more than once in a year- multiple harvest actions allow you to harvest multiple fields or yoke to harvest in summer rather than winter. Good effort otherwise

I watched the whole video again (closely) and noticed a lot more issues in the game play, scoring, and the like: Since you are in a two player game, only the first player World Council spot is active. The other should be closed off, just like on the valley board. Nic used the other spot only once during the game, towards the end. Nic at 13:23, the genius doesn’t come back active/awake Krissy; 14:47, you didn’t get the bonuses from the genius hire. Nic: 17:58, you glitched a lab that wasn’t there. The roll was for the paradox track #2 or the water building (I can’t tell on the die because it’s a triangle) Krissy: 21:31 you needed a scientific breakthrough to put on the track to gain those two points (and to slide your fracture device down) Nic: 24:49 you got the anamoly but you didn’t remove one of your warp tiles (if you wanted to… you should have lol) (Krissy helped you at 39:09) Nic: your super project should either be on the grey (factory) slot or the lab slot - minus the glitch Also, you’re playing on side A playing board? You need 3 labs in order to evacuate and get points. I confirmed with Dorka at Mindclash: super projects don’t count as labs towards your end game evacuation goals. Thus, negative points from not evacuating. Nic: 44:56 you hired the scientist but didn’t get the water Nic: 48:39 again, you glitched a building. It should have been on the life support or factory building. Instead you put it on your power generator non building spot I also made the comment on the earlier post. I’m glad you guys had fun. Krissy, at round 6 at 1:42:11 you blinked from a construct tile to the other. The rules state you cannot blink to the same worker placement area. So you couldn’t not have built that water building

I have to say that this is Chip Theory Games' worst solo offering to date. I'm a fan of the original Hoplomachus and Too Many Bones, but Victorum took quite a downturn for me. I only played through 1 full campaign, and I rage-quit during the Scion battle. For me, I don't mind the length of the game. The big problem is that the difficulty level is just *way* off. It's clear that the designers have no clue what Chosen/easy is, what normal is, what hard is, etc. etc. I was playing on Chosen, and it was FAR from easy. Seriously! They truly didn't playtest this game enough, and the trouble begins as soon as you hit Act IV. I had no problems getting through Acts I to III, but there's a very unfair and unnecessary difficulty ramp-up when you approach IV. Simply terrible. I literally had to surrender and/or avoid all events during that act, no joke, which of courses added banes to the bag. Then I had no shot on the "recommended" Scion battle with Taotie. By the way, I played with their recommended setups for Krakenlance LOL. And you're supposed to have a somewhat "easier" time with him? Total BS. I'm very happy to be selling this one off to someone who likes more sadistic gameplay. And that's another thing. I don't mind losing...as long as I have a lot of fun in the process. This is why I like Arkham Horror and Eldritch Horror. They're very tough games to win, but they're both a ton of fun, and I don't mind losing a lot when playing those games. With Victorum, however, the process of losing is unbelievably BAD and quite anger-inducing. Like I said above, once Act IV hits, things start taking a drastic turn for the worse. Maybe if they did some heavy re-thinking on the difficulty tweaks, or even shortened the game to 3 acts only, they'd have a hit on their hands. As it stands now, this game is substantially flawed. Absolutely can't wait to sell this off.

I have been playing this ALOT since I got it. Still havnt beaten it - I think it is REALLY hard - but an extremely fun game in a tiny box that really unfolds! :D
