When she started counting that cash I felt so relieved, like I had drunk a big cup of water after being thirsty for days. This series paints the life of someone who lives day by day and I wish everyone saw this. It's education, but powerfully moving and inspirational.
I've just started watching this show, and I'm shocked. How is it possible that the richest country in the world doesn't protect their citizens with honest labor law regulations? 12$ per hours and the employee is not reimbursed for gas and has to buy their own supplies and cleaning products? It's really depressing that companies can officially offer such conditions
I watched this series. It was absolutely wonderful. Heartbreaking and then heartwarming. I have never rooted so much for a character to be safe and succeed. One of the best shows I have seen in a very long time.
What the absolute F…. K are these stupid comments, can people not just inform the rest of us if this is good, great or crap. Is it worth watching that is all anyone wants to know when reading comment sections
I understand the point of this scene and I realize some homes are in much worse shape (esp when it comes to food/ animal issues/ mould etc. I know there wouldn’t have been time to look through/organize everything while packing but it might have made sense to get it all to the shelter, organize there, use whatever possible, try to sell and raise money for the shelter. I admire the strength of all these characters.
It's atestament to the skill of the writers and the actors that the most uplifing moment in the series was when she is cleaning out all the stuff form the hoarder woman's house.
Broken things and old newspapers and such aside they should have sold the rest lawn sale/Facebook marketplace and such, then donated the rest of the stuff they didn't need but isn't garbage. It also helps the hoarder long term into separating garbage and feeling less shame about having kept things in excess if a share of their hoard is validated as not junk but also not needed to be kept by themselves either.
That takes serious time and organisational skills; suffice it to say that it was a nice dry day, that stuff could be picked through (maybe not in suburbia, but in a more densely populated area. Great series though.
@@wendyhuntingtonparkerfages8844 Yeah, but it's about this semi-hoarders mental state. Hoarders don't immediately go dumpster diving for junk to replace or reclaim their junk if they've processed it as a trade, getting money or food in return. It also helps them recognize trash as trash when put into perspective that it's stuff that you're not able to even give away, let alone sell. Helping them devalue garbage is very important to making sure their hoarding doesn't get worse.
She couldn't get rid of all her children's memories, but allowed that cleaning lady to just throw everything out? No way did she do that in a few hours
Midwest magic cleaning channel does mainly hoarder houses for free. He explains a lot behind the whys it’s not always able to sell or donate etc. and how hard it is for hoarders to get rid of stuff. It’s not laziness. 🌸
So how is that all going to get cleaned up? The weekly trash pickup sure isn't going to do it, and if they do that lady is going to receive a very large bill. Loading a truck or van and going to the dump is also going to easily cost that $90 and more... I get the scene and all but the mess was just moved from in the house to outside the house to the yard.
The part where she sinks into the couch....I cried my eyes out. I was there for years, disappearing, being so alone I felt the feeling would never leave, that it became a part of my very bones. 😢 what an amazing series!!!!
@@SlashAndInkOfCrimson Yes… All I’ve seen is this clip (as I’ve stated), which depicts a very unrealistic scene. A hoarder sees value in keeping the items they’ve hoarded. Therefor they have issues letting go of them (even when seeing it causes issues/harm) causing the items to pile up. No hoarder lets go this easily of their collected items, just like you won’t just hand over the keys to your car (or whatever) because someone else says it’s garbage and you won’t need it. I may comment about a clip I’ve watched, right? Or do I need to see the entire show before I may place a comment here, your grace?
It's a movie. They don't "show everything". In real life, there would probably be some sorting of things that could be sold and other things to be given to charity. But more importantly a hard core hoarder would have psychological problems parting with their stuff. There's a wide range of afflictions. They're not getting into the nitty gritty in the movie.
This scene is lovely but realistically won't work. The pregnant lady is psychologically attached to the items, she wouldn't be able to stop herself from freaking out and not supervise the clean up.
But many hoarders do keep it sort of organized. Categorized and in boxes etc (makes it double as hard getting rid of since they kept those items in good shape!). I thought it was super realistic. Maybe missing some of the dust that would accumulate in reality but the random items all neatly stored yet cluttered up everywhere is so real. Kind of like a neverending overflowing garage or "randoms" closet
You can’t leave all that trash outside like that. She should have her own trash removal vehicles. Also why did she throw out all of that? I seen some electronics. Why throw away toys?
Margaret Qualley said in the W magazine interview that this song was her favorite from the Matilda soundtrack growing up. Now it's in one of her own pieces of work. 💘🤩 Love that for her.
This song will always take me right back to my childhood rewinding my Matilda VHS tape and watching it over and over again. I also looked similar to Matilda when I was a kid and just loved that movie and especially the scene with this song. ❤
As a child of a hoarder... this is impressive skill.. though it is normal for people afflicted with hoarding to need someone outside the family to help push them over the threshold to clean up. they have a lot of negativity toward family members trying to help. It was always my dream to help my afflicted family member.

Almost the same right now, so what? Why can’t I be famous because of this? 😅

After everything she did not sell her soul to the devil. True character lady...
Devil?
stu's cool

idk about over there but in my UK city you can call and organise in advance when you have a large load and they will help you set something up

Lol. I haven’t seen the series, nor do I know the entire context, but a hoarder doesn’t let go so easily of their “valuable” hoarded items.
So you don't know anything about the show, and are making comments on how it's playing out?

@@hviring7441 I was just asking a question. 🤷♀️
By nightfall the pregnant mom will have moved all that clutter back into her house
Looks like a clean hoard so her not taking that stuff to a charity is giving me hives 😵💫😵💫🤢

no shame or anger, just mamas helping mamas
I wish for this every episode of Horders
We need new season asap
…when I saw the title, I legitimately thought this was about Medical Aid In Dying
Hi fellow Canadian!
@@jessicanolan7408 What does this mean? I mean, I’m flattered, but I’m actually an American.
Ok this is not the point I know but I was hoping that it would be more than throwing out trash bags
When you hear the matilda song come on you know it’s gonna be some fun and cleaning 🧹
This was a perfect 1 and done series. A complete story arch. Of course I wanted more but i think it ended just as it should have.
This scene is lovely but realistically won't work. The pregnant lady is psychologically attached to the items, she wouldn't be able to stop herself from freaking out and not supervise the clean up.
But she was the one asking for help, so she was ready to let go..
Yeah I was gunna say… a cleaning service doesn’t cure hoarding disorder
Yeah I agree but let me enjoy this
This is the cleanest mess I’ve seen…

@braria9855 yea there are stages. It's a cumulative disorder though, the end is when it get bad.
haha yeah they could only do the clutter not the actual mess with hoarding
cause its a netflix show
I struggle with this. This made me feel a bit better about my situation. ❤
Sending strength 💪✨

Can I recommend you? The reason she is asking is because none have money.
Movie name is Maid the episode is episode 9
This scene is amazing on several levels.

I cant belive she went back to her abusive ex abd got pregnant by him from the 2nd time
If you had watched the show maybe you would have understood the reasons women get trapped in these bad situations
I never wanted this show to end ive never rooted for a character so much in my LIFE I NEEDED to see her win

Damn every time I hear this song I get so emotional that was my childhood song from Matilda and Ice Age and now Maid too. Rusted Root is a legend :)
I cried so hard during the last episode.. 😢🥲
..anyone else catch the knob hill farms basket at just after 20 seconds?? :D
I'm sorry but WTF a lot of the stuff chucked could of been recycled/gifted to charity shops what a waste of good stuff
Takes a lot more time though 🤷🏼♀️ Time she did not have.
Most of what she threw out was old, used junk and anyone driving by is welcome to help themselves
Ice Age, Matilda and now Maid, hell yeah!! Rusted Root is classic!!!!🙌😌😌😌🔥
Don’t forget Big mouth.
