@knotyoumedia4014 if you’re having problems with the macro install, look at your original email that was sent to you. There is an email address that you can send me a message and I can help you through it. If I don’t hear from you, I can’t help you.
i learn sonething new already haha, you got a new subscriber! question have you ever been deployed, and do you still only take 30mins per inspection during CAT Assessment?
Great job. I'm trying to get down there. What's a good company to start with. I'm independent
@derrickdenson There are lots of good firms to work for. My recommendation is to be careful about the carrier that you work for. It can make your job hard and stressful if you work for a bad carrier. I’m not here to slam them, but as you work for them, you will find out they are not all alike.
I really appreciate your time helping us with this. Thanks so much
@LARIMUS12121 you’re welcome. Glad to help. Hoping to get back to doing lives again.
It amazed me how one roof gets pounded and the next door neighbor gets nothing. Just got to the Tampa area!!
@vanlifeadjustments I would agree with you on that. Especially when you see a house that has hail damage on it and next-door has none. It was pretty freaky when I saw that. Glad you’re finding work in Tampa.
What’s the steepest roof you’ve climbed and are comfortable with?
I’m good to 10/12 before I need paws
@pietro9194 I’m very comfortable on 10/12, and I can partially stand on a 12/12 for a shorter period of time, but it’s not comfortable for a long time. The cougar paws are definitely necessary, and working on your flexibility of your calf muscles is very important. Lots of stretches will help build your flexibility so that your foot will stay flat on the roof while you’re climbing.
@Novabella101 amazing! I don’t take chances like that, and always use my cougar paws
Can you make a video with a close up of the nail pulls?
@shauna1306 I wish I could remember, but it’s basically a hole in the shingle where the nail head once was
Thank you for the video. Do you have a video that shows how to write an estimate for wind damage? I found one you complete for flood damage only.
Yes, eventually, I will have my Xactimate certification course training up, and this will go into great detail on how to write an estimate for wind damage on a roof. Unfortunately, since I’ve been deployed, this has been delayed.
Have been selling roofs and construction work for over 10 years and I think it would be better to be as independent adjuster
@davidglenn7044 I’ve heard a lot of roofers tell me this. it’s a good transition. I think you’ll like it.
Hi! Is it going to be a course for beginners also? The old videos you have about xactimate X1 help beginners? Thanks 🙏🏼
@conectatj7876 Yes, this will be a very thorough and comprehensive course from beginner through advance
Thanks great advice
@abcspecial1 Glad it was helpful!
Hey Daniel. I worked for Allstate. While there I went through Xactimate level 1 certification. Since Im no longer with Allstate I obviously can no longer login to Xactware using my Allstate credentials. Do I have to obtain my certifications over again? Or do my certifications from Allstate follow me..such as Xactimate level 1?
@dannytackett8158 as long as you have the certification certificate for passing level one certification, it doesn’t matter who you got it from. You can just create a new xactimate ID.
Hello, how do I purchase your macro cheat sheet?
@jurneemabrey795 Get the Macros here. www.fatfreecartpro.com/ecom/gb.php?&c=single&cl=382931&i=1726309
You're showing your face instead of the estimate
@AngelaWatson-t5x Ha ha… I guess I’m really good looking. Ha ha ha.
Hello Daniel im very interested in becoming an IA. Currently, i am working as a ladder assistant. I just passed my residential roof course. Now I'm want to get my adjuster license but I do have an 15 yr old felony of position of forged bank notes. Long story short I won the money gambling playing basketball. I want to know if this is a no go.
@BlaQ_OwL Honestly I don’t know. The best way to find out is to apply and see what happens. A lot of times they allow people to add explanations to what happened in the past, documentation or otherwise, and they will make an individual case by case decision.
Wow! Thank you so much! That was highly educational...
@carltonpertile3546 I am so glad you liked it
Thanks for sharing Daniel, can you explain what do you mean by pulled nails?
@jonathangarza1095 Sure, no problem. When wind lifts a shingle, the shingle can pull right through the nail, leaving the head still in place, but a large hole in the shingle. It’s wind damage because the shingle pulled through the nail.
@@danieltheadjuster got it, thanks!
I have 7yo shingles with exposed fiberglass. Took pictures. Did not know about chalk marking. So going back up to mark and take pictures. I see H is used for Hail. W is for wind. What is used for exposed fiberglass ? F or D for defect?
OreaGray I would probably use a “D” for defective. As long as you notate it in your description on your photo. You can use whatever you want. Our goal is to make things as easy as possible for the Desk Adjusters to understand.
Thank you!
How do you recommend I save them to my PC in order to import them to Xact? Basic question, but I have been a Mac user all my life. Thank you!
@bethanyrichter1163 no worries about your question. They come in as a zipped file. You extract them to a folder on your desktop. Just right click on your desktop create a folder called macros. Once they have extracted to that folder, you go into exact on the main page, click tools, then the button import, then click on the small folder on the right. Locate your macro folder on your desktop, click on it, then hit OK. Click on the select data button. And you will see the whole list of macros. Click on the first one, scroll all the way down hold the shift key and click on the last one, so that all of them are highlighted, then hit import. It will take a few minutes and they will be in.
all the shingles look the same
@elijahsinclair23 ok
God bless you for this video. I just needed a refresher. Thank you!!
@Phoeb02. Very good, thank you.
So I got my insurance adjuster license a few months ago but because I was unemployed I got my public adjusters license in Illinois. Did I mess up with doing insurance claims
@tamikawilliams930 Being a PA is just fine. You just have to pick which side you want to go on. You can do well.
Negative! 😂
@JustArrjay 🤣 I hear ya
Do you have any flood macros?
@perksoflivingvlogs6219 Not specifically for flood, but they basically are my macros backwards. Flood writes estimates from the ground up, whereas I do it the opposite from the roof down.
I purchased the macros how do you get them in Xactimate
@knotyoumedia4014 There is a link in the email that I sent you. But here is the link. th-cam.com/video/PawCc_dbZ40/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k-UqoYo7JVmtQlQS
Peace Sir, thank u great video. I’m a new adjuster in Florida.
@faisalxt Great!
I have been in construction for 30 yrs. I turned 50 this year. I have worked in a lot of trades through the years, and my body is just beat. I have been in constant worry about my future. I'm running out of time to change careers. Until I saw an advertisement for an adjuster school. Unfortunately, they wanted a significant amount of money for it. I did 2 years of college 8 yrs ago. I'm well acquainted with most of the microsoft Office tools still. So, I started to attempt to apply at adjustment positions, and I quickly realized I wasn't certified in xactimate or the other program they asked for. Besides that, they want 2 years exp. Up til now, I've just been doing contractor work for myself and doing everything it would take to run a business beginning to end. I now have hope. Taking the xactimate course or test, whatever it is; I'm 100%, I would learn it quickly. I live in Ohio, which does not require any license. Compared to spending 6k and getting the accreditations myself, how would I go about getting my foot in the door? Being brand new to the field? I'm good at learning on the fly, and I'm absolutely trying not to waste your and my time. Thanks, I'm looking forward to the rest of the videos.
The music playing while you are talking is very distracting
@activeinfinity1 Yes, sorry about that!
Do the macros update with the monthly estimate charge changes?
@activeinfinity1 unfortunately not. You will need to reprice your estimate... This is a good practice to get used to doing anyway since you may be receiving a claim in the last month and estimating it in the next month. You will need to reprice your estimate. I do this process on every claim I handle when I complete the claim before I upload, regardless. In the estimate, go to Claim Info/Parameters/Reprice Tab.
Why couldn’t you use a drone instead of climbing?
@steveaustin3125 Unfortunately drones are not allowed for independent adjusters at this time. We are required to climb the roof.
😂 we don’t have too many of those here in Florida
@AlexandriaMongeYourRealtor Lucky you!! Ha ha
Sir, thank you so much for the content. I am retired from the Army and looking to become an IA. One question, I live in Augusta GA (SCRA Area). Do all IAs deploy? Or are you able to work in a local areas? I would like to primarily work GA, SC, NC and Florida for example
@cornelius.anatole Good question! Thanks for watching! Sure, as far as deployments, you can choose which one you want to go on, and also, to whatever area. As a new adjuster, you may need to go to a desk adjuster or a field adjuster position, wherever they will have a War Room for assistance. Typically the firms will set up a War Room close to the center of the storm in a hotel etc., and be available to assist new adjusters when writing claims. All IAs don't deploy. Some need to stay home and handle the daily claims that still come in on a regular basis.
@@danieltheadjuster thank you for that Sir
I just had the pleasure of meeting, Daniel. He is one of the best, most honest and fair Adjusters I’ve ever met. Wish there were more out there like him. Hope to see you on the next one.
@kylejones3298 You are so Kind! I also appreciate great contractors that know their stuff, so we don't waste our time out there on questionable stuff. Glad to help and I hope to see you soon too! It was a pleasure!
Daniel your not going to finish out helene? There is a lot of work still from what I hear
@Baljeet_benchod.007 I have handled everything that they have given me. I was selective on this CAT for which carrier I wanted to handle claims for. This did limit me on the crazy amount of claims I could have handled but I was more interested in quality for the insured.
I am waiting on the call to deploy
Don’t wait you need to call them and ask to be
@kiethlowry2862 nice!
Looks the same in GA
@Stephen-gn3bo Ok!
So ur saying loss of grainal is considered wind damage
@adrianleroy6667 Granule loss can be a factor in replacing the roof, if it can be contributed to the event. Insurance is supposed to replace what was damaged during the event. If I look in the gutters and see tons and tons of granules, on a two-year-old roof after the storm, I would consider this to be storm related damage. I would notate it in my report to possibly justify the replacement of the roof. Doesn’t always happen, but it’s important to notice the details.
At the end of the day, they got lucky that the tree just sort of grazed the corner of the roof. Had it fallen another 8-10 feet to the left, they would have a brand new skylight in the house.
@JustArrjay Totally agree!!
How would you write for founational damage?
@BrianBadBass I would just add in a Masonary line, that would be sufficient to repair the foundation. Sometimes I will add an F9 note, adding additional labor for the difficulty of the repair. Your discretion can be justified in F9 note.
@@danieltheadjuster gotcha thank you!
@BrianBadBass sure!
Just finished a 5 month deployment in TN before this hurricane hit. I’m currently relaxing at home but it’s a mess down where you’re at. Definitely need a break before I go work a hurricane
@qui-gonjinn9985 Wow you are blessed. My deployment normally only last about three weeks. I’m always excited to go to the next one. Hurricane Milton is on my path next!
Hurricane damage is crazy! Stay Safe
How would you write that up in Xact?
@thenosepicker Start from the top of the house and work your way down. Roof, framing, insulation, windows, electrical, ceiling drywall, wall, drywall, trim, doors, floor, coverings, insulation in the floor, etc.
@@danieltheadjuster even the kitchen sink! Gotcha.
@thenosepicker yes! It’s one line at a time. My macros make writing estimates easier. I have made a lot of these macros based on prior estimates that I have written. It will make your life so much easier. Check out the link in the description for information about the macros.
@@danieltheadjuster I'll pick it up! Thanks!

Are you ever worried about OSHA?
@64offroadpe25 Never…..I am not an employee, I own my own business, I am the boss. OSHA can only complain to me. Ha ha ha I guess I will be nice to myself. Just teasing,OSHA really doesn’t pay much attention to us. They are looking for big corporations where they can affect a lot of people, not just one individual.
I'm a new adjuster is the damage from hurricane Helen so great that companies need extra help badly enough handling all the claims that someone with no experience would be able to come help I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get my foot in the door in this field and thought this might be a chance
@MRB1TCHES Desk Adjusting is going to be your best option. Field adjusting is for the very advanced and skilled Adjuster. It’s very stressful and needs to be a fine tuned machine, to be successful. Otherwise, you will be lost, discouraged, and give up.
Where would you recommend I apply for desk adjusting, got a New York license
How many claims have you gotten so far how much in the last couple days
@galacticmastery3380 Definitely not a whole lot of claims. It’s slowing down.
Daniel, let's get dinner bro. I'm with another adjuster in greenville too. These trees are out of control
@johntrevett2944 Yes, definitely. Let’s get together before we leave. Too busy right now to stop to sit for dinner. ha ha ha.
I got my adjuster license and new to this industry...but I'm having a hard time getting a job and getting started...any recommendations?
@conrad6301 Congratulations! It’s very hard to break into the business as a new adjuster, but definitely a possibility. Look into desk Adjuster positions. This is your best bet.
I’m working in Augusta, all my claims have had trees falling on the property and water damage.
@Baljeet_benchod.007 Yes lots of tree claims here as well in South Carolina. Keep safe.
Cheaply built
@lavelbrown9352 Yes it was.
