In this video I finally paint the model I have dreamt of for nearly 30 years.
Veteran Sargent Centurius from the Legion of the Damned.
I've attempted to give this a paint job straight out the pages of White Dwarf and the free hand flames were a good challenge.

Painting Squats that aren't Squats
มุมมอง 3435 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I'm painting some Squats that aren't Squats, but are still very nice minis, to a nice tabletop standard pretty quickly. Painting this classic Chaplain on bike. Death trap on wheels, or a manoeuvrable character?
มุมมอง 4236 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I give this classic mini a paint job straight out of the pages of White Dwarf, as well as talk about it's uses and strengths in the game. Is this really a quick way of getting your character killed or a good way of getting your hard hitter where he needs to be? Breathing new life into a Rogue Trader classic
มุมมอง 80610 หลายเดือนก่อน
There are a few models from the Rogue Trader era that are genuine classics. The Rogue Trader Preditor, with the rounded turret is one of them. In this video I'm going to do some interesting repair work to breath new life into this classic model, and finish it off with a Blood Angel's 2nd edition 40k colour scheme, complete with banners. When you cut that banner pole i was like, 😮 Just swap it for one without. Great skills btw. Wish i was half as good.
@@Bur91a I felt similar when I did it. I've kept it though so that it can be used in the future so it's not going to waste..
Fantastic paintjob as always
Cheers my cherry pie..
@nostalgiahobbies 😂😂
I'm honoured you took a leaf out of my book, as i no doubt took it from someone else's
Oh crap, I forgot to put the link to your channel in the description! Amended that now. Although my channel giving you a shout-out is a bit redundant seeing as you dwarf my sub count. 😂
@nostalgiahobbies don't worry mate. It's nice to get a mention all the same 😊
Very good video. You are a painting wizard. Couldn’t help but notice that this mini is just you without hair.
@@theylivewesleep.5139 😅 And I only just have a bit more hair at that.

Could well be. I don't really have the same issue with a.i. art that some people do.
Bloody hell he’s back! Apology accepted
Thanks for accepting my apology, I hope the video helps. And there will be more Legion of the Dammed coming in the future.
@ my acceptance is as sincere as your apology
Bravo
Thank you very much.
Mooooom! Wake up, nostalgiahammer just uploaded a new video!
Sorry I'm late uploading this month. I hope the video makes up for my tardiness?
@@nostalgiahobbies No need to say sorry, im still just happy you post these awesome videos! Love the way he came out and your feel for detail.
Excellent. I very pleased you like the paint job. It was a lot of fun to do.
This little guy is sooo cool! Nice job
He's a proper blast from the past isn't he? And thank you very much for the kind words, I had a blast painting this guy.. More Legion to come in the future too.
He looks so f😁😁😁ING good mate he is sitting on my shelf in front of me
Just you wait until the others get done mate
That mini looks epic! Remember picking one up at the grand opening of the Milton Keynes store if I recall.
My location was the Bournemouth store. Such a good mini
@nostalgiahobbies bet it was decked out bright red in the day and rammed with blister packs.🥲
Great conversion and paint job!
Thank you very much bud. I really enjoyed this one.
Absolutely stunning.

What a good idea to use trollslayers. Fantastic paintjob as always.
Thanks mate. I am enjoying this commission it must be said
Awesome work Danny
Cheers bud.
This channel is pure joy
Thank you very much for the kind words my friend. I'm very pleased you're enjoying it.
Good effect, gets the idea across. If I were doing this, I'd go a bit further with a little conversion work. Some of them with the most exposed faces I'd give the bionic eye/skull plate treatment with a bit if greenstuffing. Maybe an arm or foot swap with some old space marine bionics from the old iron hands conversion kit, and in the painting stage maybe painting an arm to look like a more expensive, more articulated bionic. Like one of the cyberarms from Cyberpunk. Plus sprinkling the odd grenade pack here and there where there's space on the models belt.
@@username12120 All great suggestions. I did say to the client about doing some weapon swaps for power axes and I like the idea of adding some grenades. I didn't think of that and I should have suggested that. I think I shall have to re-visit these later down the line when they're not for a commission. Great ideas that I shall have to use there mate.

@@Bloodangelsscout Never fear it's coming soon... 😁
With the bounding leap, even if you have to use all 4". You don't need to use your full movement/charge/run so you can offset it with that to keep their movement in line with banshees.
@@camy252camy3 Thank you for clearing that up.
Brilliant vid mate. She looks great and the 4th ed models do have alittle more grace about the but like you said, can't beat the classics sometimes
So true. The 3rd ed sculpts don't really do it for me, too much Dark Eldar about them for me, but the 4th ed sculpts are pretty close to the Rogue Trader ones.
Superb mate! The model looks so amazing in that colour scheme.
Thank you very much. That bright red is pretty descent isn't it. Those decals do set the mini off nicely too
WYSIWYG. civilized.
@@Farmerwal I try my best. 😁
‘Rouge’ trader because it’s red? I’m referring to the typo in the video name.
@@dominicnixon8905 To be honest I'm not really sure what specifically makes a Rogue Trader colour scheme. I'm thinking it's the vibrancy of the colours used back then and possibly the simplicity of the schemes? And maybe the period decals? Like I said I'm not really sure. Basically, so long as it tickles the nostalgia itch I'm pretty happy. What do you think?
Fantastic tutorial. I'll be following this to paint up mine! Cheers.
@@Futurist1001 Nice one. I'm happy to help.
So sad that I will not get to battle this army come October.
I know mate. But there will always be next year. Or you never know, the time may come when I can meet you somewhere nearer to you and we can have a game ourselves. We never know what the future may hold my friend..
@@nostalgiahobbies so very true and those squats will be waiting
@@Bloodangelsscout Oooh, Squats vs Eldar A classic grudge battle...
Excellent paintjob. Retro enough to fit with older Eldar models easily. It will look great on the gaming table, Sir. 👍🏻
Thank you. She does look good leading her squad.
Very tidy sir! They work well.
Thanks bud.
Tom me, tabletop standard is the figure painted to a basic level, the colors blocked in and that's it.
No washes?
@@nostalgiahobbies No but that could be done as well but I used to see minis painted to a basic level and used in battle reports in White Dwarf back in the day and it was acceptable. Gamers aren't always mini painters, though. 😏
@@maxbrandt6 That's very true. I've said exactly that to people who have said that if you don't paint your own minis you shouldn't play the game. Not everyone paints, or even enjoys it that much when they do, but they love the game itself. There's no real wing answer to be honest
Great job 👍

Great video. You've nailed the 2nd Ed Eavy Metal look. I'm interested to see what other Aspects you pick for your army. The Jes Goodwin sculpts really have stood up to the test of time and look amazing. Have you chosen a Craft World yet?
i have indeed. I'm going with Biel-Tan. I've got one more aspect unit for this force but not planned in the future. I'm very keen on trying out an army life the one in white dwarf 196, warrior heavy with small aspect squads.
The 6" move is what saves them from shooting, a run takes them 12", meaning they count as fast moving, so -1 to hit at range.
Good point. I'd not thought of that. That should definitely help them a little bit.
Great work my friend !
Thank you very much as always my friend.
