Easy Suburban 4L60E transmission fluid change & pan removal
I’ve followed all of the steps, and the vehicle will start, but the key won’t turn backwards to the off position. The interior lights stay on and the battery dies. Is there some kind of anti lock that I triggered? How do I reset that?
@Hubbledubbub_L i don't know about the anti theft stuff. The only thing i can think of is to be sure the vehicle is FULLY in PARK. I'm not a mechanic, I just have a need to fix something but can't find a video on TH-cam that is relevant, so I will Itry to make one that may help. I'm sorry this answer probably isn't what you are needing. Good luck
I removed a comment from my comment section because I felt that it used God's name in vain. If you want to comment or criticize, go ahead. But, if I feel that it is offensive in language, I will not wait for TH-cam to remove it. I'll do it myself. So, if you want to be heard, don't use the Lord's name in vain and don't use profane words. You can say how dumb I am or that everything in my video is incorrect, and it will stay posted. Just say things like you would say it to your pastor.
Thank you, been using hand signals for a month 🤣
Where can another one be purchased
@carla5035 If you are mechanically inclined, maybe, possibly a salvage yard will allow you to take one off and buy it. Otherwise, I would suggest trying carparts.com or ebaymotors.com or something like those. There are plenty of sites that should be able to supply one. Good luck😉 P.S. If that fails, try a regular parts store and look for a fancy aftermarket version
Thank you this is very helpful 👍
Thank you so much for the vid man, my mower suddenly stopped being able to move forward but I still had reverse and neutral while I was trying to lawn sweep nearly 2 acres and it did that right in the middle of it. Watched your video, went to my mower and sure enough it has that same little block and it was stuck. Broke it loose and it fired up and shifted right into forward, thank you so much, such a life saver!!
You are the first to tell of the hidden screw. Found it before I destroyed it. Oh, by the way, a 4mm socket will get it out for you. It's an Inverted TORX bolt. Just got to get the bottom cover off first and look up just behind the key lock closest to the steering wheel. Wish I would have taken a picture. Everything works great now. Thanks
@@wesleysmith7470 Thank you for the kind words. I'm really glad when people comment. I then know that my efforts and experiences may have helped in some way
Thanks for this video. I had this problem today and this is the first video I watched. I didn't have to remove the pin clip. I sprayed some Slip Plate dry graphite lube on the sliding piece and it works smoothly. I didn't want to use anything greasy because grass and dirt would stick to it easily. Thanks again.
Was it necessary for you to do a PCM relearn after "tampering" with the crankshaft position sensor. It says my 1998 Oldsmobile Achieva with a 3.1 needs to be relearned after messing with the crankshaft position sensor. But no one will do it for under $400
@bonscotty67 I did not do that. It ran fine. However, all car makes are different
Thanks gonna go check this now. Trying to rush mow my yard before a bunch of other plans today. Haven't had a chance to cut in weeks due to rain and one lap around my yard it wouldn't go forward. I really don't wanna push mow an acre of 8 inch plus grass lol.
@@astaschak let me know if it actually siege like worsened for you
@@josephharmon4403 my bad I forgot to update my comment but this was almost exactly my problem. There was a small twig jammed infront of the sliding part. Pulled that and greased it and it seems to shift better than before. Unfortunately 2 more laps around the yard and my pto cable snapped. I just wasn't meant to mow that day. Everything's all good for now though.
Came across this video trouble shooting this morning, and this was the fix, thank you !
Thank you, Joe! Not a car guy, couldn't have done it without you.
Apparently, this is a problem with the Trailblazer. I just bought a 2003 with the same problem.
THANK YOU, THERE SHOULD BE MORE INFO LIKE THIS ON TH-cam, STRAIGHT TO THE POINT!
Hello sir, I do have a question I also changed my lock but it is still not locking door any ideas?
I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you. Check for any codes showing on your display. I hate to sound so simplistic, but are you sure the plug on the door lock was secure? Try unplugging the washer for a while, then plug it up again. Is the new locking mechanism oriented correctly? Not upside down. Again, I really wouldn't know. I'm not a professional. I really wish you luck.
Did you no power to the board, and where do you recommend to get board thanks
There was power to the machine. However, the board was not functional. To acquire a board, check: Frigidaire.com sears parts direct Ebay Mom and Pop appliance stores Anywhere that sells parts
Would this be same as the 2002 century?
I'm not really sure. Call a dealership parts dept, or check something like Hayme"s or Chilton"s repair manual to see if they cover the years in concern. Sorry I'm not any help
It’s the same set up the sensor hard to unplug have to push it “ just right” to get it off but I got thank you for this video definitely helped me out
i just want to thank you for your tip. I have had the same issue for a long time. I would back up and try to get it to move forward. I even pounded on knuckle at bottom of shifter. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it would not. I did exactly as you suggested yesterday and it worked perfectly. Best it has shifted in years. Thanks again.
You are so welcome. Thank you, for YOUR kind comments.
What size socket did you use
I actually don't remember. I believe it's 10mm. But that's a guess. I thought that I did a full video with explanation, but sadly I did not
@@josephharmon4403 - Looks like a 7 mm.
Thank you! Every video I found had the full grill and didn't apply to me.
Take the spark plug out and pull the rip cord a few times to get the air out of the engine, and you might have to clean the carburetor, if that doesn't work you need to replace the carburetor it's easier and cheaper just to replace the whole carburetor then rebuilding it.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. But, I still need to address the leaky, factory issue has tank
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I have a question for you, do these thunder bay augers need to be regreased in the gearcase if so can you show how? thanks
Honestly I don't know. I haven't had mine running for at least a couple years. Even then, I used it only about 5-6 times. The fuel tank leaked badly where the vent tubing entered the fuel tank. And then I just couldn't bring it running. For me... it's a total piece of crap
I have no idea. Mine didn't work long enough to need maintenance
How do you remove hydraulic fluid? it's 2-3" too high on the stick.
I know you can remove the side panels pretty easily by sliding them back between the arms and body. The tank should be right there towards the rear/ bottom area. I don't know if there is a drain, however. If all else fails, stick a siphon pump with a long enough tube, into the fill tube and suck it out that way. I'm sorry I'm not really any help, but that skid steer was borrowed, and I really don't know about its operation and maintenance. The dealership was not helpful at all. They said bring it in, we'll check it out... yeah right, for $120 per hour
Perfect but I can’t get to that e5 screw
The only thing I can suggest is to try tilting the wheel up, or turning it. MAYBE, that will give you a needed Clarence. Like I said in the video, I broke mine away from it. I kinda regret doing that, but really, Pudding know it was there to start with. His luck
"PromoSM"
Huh just realized I've never actually used a ratchet on those kind of screws (I'm a carpenter)
I just did this repair. Good advice on removing the oil filter (only way likely). I did not tug on the wire though. Actually got cutting pliers between the metal bracket and the wire plugs. Managed to snip that small piece of plastic that holds the wire harness to the metal bracket. Then I was able to feed the old crankshaft position sensor backwards and drop the connection down where I could work on it easily. My cheap harmonic balancer puller damaged the threads in the crankshaft end. Should have known better. Was able to fix by running a tap in. Harmonic balancer puller went in the garbage. The bolt holes on the pulley are actually metric M10 x 1.5 if you want a slightly tighter fit when pulling the crank off. I did use a 3/8 bolt to clean the holes out, but felt a little loose. Maybe doesn't matter. The old sensor appeared to have a small blister on the side bolted towards the engine. Hopefully, this was my problem. The car was stalling when hot and sitting at a red light for a few minutes. Car would immediately start after turning off the key. No codes thrown.
I'm glad any part of my video could help. As always, my situation won't be the same as others, but any good word is what I'm hoping to offer.
Speaking of a lot of extra work for nothing, there was another video on here where the guy started off by removing first the airbag from the steering wheel, then the steering wheel itself. I was dumbfounded, because I've never in my life heard of that needing to be done. I've owned numerous cars both domestic and Japanese and changing the ignition lock housing has always been very simple - and I've never needed to pull an actual steering wheel.
Wow... one thing I cannot stress enough is, DON'T MESS WITH THE AIRBAGS! They can still deploy if you forget to disengage ALL power sources that could accidently trigger it. Or worse yet, you could possibly damage or basis a malfunction of the airbag. JUST PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T MESS WITH ANY AIRBAGS!!!
Yep.. same. Had it for about 2 yrs.. ran it couple of times. @ least you got yours to start though.. fuel stabilizer, changed plug, new gas, new fuel hose (melted).. still nothing.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time.
Thank you. I'm just glad it makes sense, and actually does help somewhat.
I have had mine for the past 6 years and it runs great when you take care of it
Also make sure the spark plug is good
I had the same issue make sure you put seafoam in it and sometimes you have to mess with the idle screw once in a blue moon too
I'm sick basyard, the whole why I wasted 4 minutes and one second on your ass what's the find out how to take out the damn switch I can get no information on that slipping and slip it out shut up
It doesn’t move
What doesn't move? First, loosen the transmission pan to drain as much as you can. The exhaust will help control an accidental drop of the pan and spilling the fluid. Bend the heat shield away from pan just a little. Use a prybar to gently bend the linkage away from the pan (almost touching the drive shaft). Use a jack under the transfer case to lift the transmission assembly up only as high as it takes to get the pan out. Be sure to bend parts back into place when the pan is reassembled. Also, check to be sure you have ALL the bolts accounted for
I have a 05 Chevy he had to drill it out now we can't get the new one in what is the problem do I need to buy something
What was drilled out? If the battery is disconnected, the "safety" pin will release the switch
Did you get the switch installed? Had you disconnected the battery?
Thakyou
This actually helped quite a bit altho you already had it halfway off lol. Just did mine in 3 hours because I found a gmc envoy video and it had extra steps in it that the TB doesn't need done. Plus it was totally dark.
For all those that benefit from this video... I realize it may make it harder at first, since it was already taken apart. However, I am a poor videographer, and don't have this skills. But, if I can get even one thing on my video that can help, then I'll give it a shot. Good Luck.
Thank you for this kind sir !
What brand or model did you use for replacement? Also did you upgrade to led?
Typically, I get replacement parts from carparts.com (formerly partstrain.com) or rockauto.com. I ordered standard replacement parts. They look and install exactly like the originals
Just because you change the gas doesn’t mean that it should be OK the old gas gums up in the carburetor clean your carburetors and it will be fine
Yep, exact same issue. I dug eight holes right after I bought it, no issues. It sat for three months, I changed the gas to fresh fuel and now it's doing exactly the same thing. It will idle on 75-80% choke but will not run.
Did u fix it
Plugged screen in carb
Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Just what I needed, thanks for the info!
That was honestly the most shit help video I've ever seen in my life .
What symptoms does this entitle? My 2006 trailblazers abs light check engine light all come on and then I lose all power. Even the battery goes dead. I replaced the TPS.. that worked for about 2 days and now it's doing it again. I was told to replace the ignition switch. Would that be the issue?
While driving at speed on the interstate, the vehicle wouldn't maintain cruise, then ultimately died. It then would intermittently crank and start, then immediately die. It did this only a couple times. Then it did not crank at all. I switched batteries between two of my vehicles. It didn't make anything better. After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery a couple times more, it finally gave in and started. I got it home, did a little research and ultimately changed the switch (having seen it was a recurring problem in these models). I haven't had even a seconds problem since. Problem solved (for me).
Vidioe sux for those that didn't see where everything comes apart you should vidieo the start and the end of it godddammit🤬🤬🤬👺🖕
Would this be the same for a 1993 Buick regal
I don't know. That's a six year difference. The basics of the mechanics would be the same, but I don't know if it would have the same parts and in the same locations. Sorry, I can't help
Same issue. It starts on first pull and Idles with choke on but stalls when switched from choke to run and/ow when using the throttle.
If you just bought this product, my suggestion is... TAKE IT BACK
