Hello, I'm JSP Tensai.
On this channel, I will mainly post Synthesia videos. My goal is to help people learn some cool pieces. The schedule is one per week, on a three-week cycle: one original piece (mostly classical), two OST pieces (VGM, movies...).
The contents of the videos published here depend on a few factors:
- I only publish pieces that I like and find interesting, and I already have a long list. Therefore, I will not take any suggestions.
- If it exists somewhere else, I will not make it. So, you can expect rare and unusual pieces here.
- Sometimes, the video does exist, but in a version that does not satisfy me, or with the right-hand/left-hand dinstinction missing. In that case, I will publish a version that I like better.
If you spot a mistake, please write a comment. However, I only plan to reupload the video the week following its release, or if there are at least three mistakes. Otherwise, I will add an erratum in the description.

I don't think this is possible with several chords spanning almost two octaves.
@@johnpayton2910 Sometimes the original score presents large chords that are meant to be arpeggiated, if you don't possess Rach's hands.
It is much better to view the architecture of the piece this way

Thank you so much for doing this. I can't read sheet music but always loved the lotus flower arrangement. Thanks to you, i can finally properly attempt to learn this peace instead of trying it by ear which seemed impossible. Forever grateful.
Hmm Tbh, not knowing how to read sheet music and still wanna learn one of the most famous and challenging concerto is weird. I mean, I did the same with Chopin Ballade No.1 in G minor, but I create and actually read sheet music once and transform it to my own created note name sheet. In my opinion, you can print the music sheet down and use pencil to mark the note name(CDEFGAB with #/b). Besides, you really don't want to skip the music mark from the sheet and end up playing like a robot(same dynamic and expression), it is a romantic era piece. Using synthesia to learn piano sometimes doesn't mean easier btw Because it has no grouping, those too many note would lose yourself and fuck your eyes😅
@@larghedoggo9607Thank you for your response and your tips. This is kind of a long response but i wanted to share my thoughts. I dont actually disagree with you. Learning by reading the sheet music would be the far superior way of going about this. But i never took any serious piano or music theory lessons. I also dont aspire to play the whole piece (yet), as learning the complete piece at my current stage of playing through synthesisa is impossible, but my goal is to be able to play the passage from 8:20 to the end. That would make me really happy and i would be perfectly satisfied. Btw i do understand the basics of sheet music, but trying to learn this passage through sheet would take me even longer than it does through synthesia videos as I'm more used to these videos than sheet ( even though they are really challenging aswell as you said but im kind of used to them after all these years haha). Every time ive tried some easier pieces through sheet music i get frustrated pretty quickly as it just takes me longer at this point :(. That passage also seems challenging but doable to me, I atleast want to give it a try and if i fail i can still come back to it in a couple years with a proper teacher. I'm currently doing the same thing with the main theme from the 3rd movement ( th-cam.com/video/SQsW3AW_sRg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jIE1i0ig9TErcc76 from 0:53 onwards ) and so far it actually works better then expected (even though it absolutely is a pain with these videos as i have to rewind multiple times and you barely even see the keys). As for your concerns about dynamics. I think this is one of the most important parts of playing and i always try to make sure i don't sound like a robot. Even though my understanding of music theory is pretty lackluster, i still have been playing since i was a kid so i do have developed a feel for how to play a piece and make it interesting. Even though its probably not as good as it could be with proper training obviously. These videos enable me to attempt my favourite concertos without a massive learning barrier and just give it a go. I normally also play some easier stuff and improvise a lot so these huge pieces are mostly an aditional challenge for me to have fun with my favourite pieces. Also i do plan on taking piano lessons at some point in the next years and actually get the hang of sheet music :)

You mean the whole theme? No, only the opening part.
@@JSPTensaiMusic Ah OK, I'm trying to learn it now using this, it's tricky but a lot of fun!
Thank you
Definitely sounds better when played by an actual person. This is just further proof that music is only as beautiful as it is because of the feeling it is given when played.
I totally agree
I'm glad to hear that! Please note that this solo arrangement is from Mita Shinjiro (link in the description). I only did the transcription for Synthesia. The solo arrangement of Mvt.2 is coming up in July.
