I do explain how to do that step by step across the whole video. Perhaps there’s no openings for the specific role you’re looking for right now? Check the Disney cruise line jobs website or your local cruise recruitment agency to see if there are any openings, then you’d go from there.

Oh that’s so cool! Working in the kids clubs is the best job isn’t it? It may have changed since I last worked for them but the rate of pay was just ok, we got payed every two weeks and I think it was maybe around $900 or so we’d get payed those two weeks? Don’t quote me on that though lol.

Hi! They don’t tend to hire anyone really under the age age of 20/21 so you may have to hold off for a little while! Maybe it’s something you can revisit again another time if you’re still interested in!

That would be so sweet! Anything maybe tiny would be cool actually because the walls on the shops are obviously magnetic so they could put them up in the cabins. Anything really that would make them feel like the long hours are worth it and just to be shown a little bit of appreciation back! Thanks for thinking of the crew members and for wanting to do something special for them!

Hi there! That’s so exciting that you’re joining the wonder! Congrats! For me my phone provider had a plan add on that allowed me to use my phone data like I was in the uk so when I was in range of US territories, Mexico, Puerto Rico etc it worked then. I think people bought US SIM cards to us while they were over in the states but I’m not sure about if they were travelling to other parts of the world. Sorry I couldn’t be more help there!

Hi! Allergies are scary, you can never be too careful and you never know when you might need it hence why some children bring it with them to kids club and leave it at the front desk. Either that or they have their parents take care of it and they get called if they should ever need to have it administered. It's a perfectly normal thing to carry around and epi-pen whatever your age or your allergy just in case. It's unfortunate that at any age when you have an allergy that this is the case but better to be safe than sorry!

You'd have to discuss your contract length/ availability with your recruiter to see if they would be able to offer you a shorter contract. I'm not entirely sure what would happen if you broke contract as I've not witnessed it first hand before but I imagine worst case scenario you probably wouldn't be invited back for another contract. Doing that you would portray yourself as someone who is unreliable, when they could just easily hire someone who would not break contract so i wouldn't recommend it, as long as you're transparent about your availability I'm sure they could make something work for you.

Hi! It depends on the role but in youth activities you could work up to 11 or so hours a day. You have to legally have at least 10 hours of break time throughout the day I think it was so that could be before your shift, a break in between your shifts or an earlier finish for instance.

No I wouldn’t say so! It certainly helps if you have some sort of background in whatever role you’re going in to but it’s not a requirement to have a degree!

I don’t necessarily think it’s the way the choose to hire people, I think you’re right that it’s more likely that more females would want to apply for the role than males do for whatever reason. They certainly wouldn’t turn you away because of your gender if you’re perfectly capable of doing the job and are great at entertaining the kids onboard!

The exact same happened with me! I interviewed back in February 2022 but had some huge delays due to issues with the medical. I finally got my medical certificate about 6 months ago. I’m now just waiting for my criminal record check to come back and then will all be done. They said I should be starting soon! Hope you managed to get it sorted too!

I was onboard from June 2018- March 2020 and then was still technically employed by DCL throughout the pandemic until I decided to leave in August of 2022 so for three years in total but around a year actually on ship

What are the hours like as a nursery counsellor? It states 10 hours/7 days a week, but they'll have set opening hours won't they? Thank you for these informative videos!

Oh gosh I hadn’t realised you’d replied I’m sorry! That’s basically how my dcl journey started, applied on a whim and got the job within months haha. The hours are long I won’t lie, I believe if I’m remembering correctly the nursery starts slightly earlier than the rest of kids club or a similar time at least and sometimes they finish around 11pm but sometimes you may be asked to go to the other kids clubs to work until midnight if you fall on that sort of line on the schedule. Your start and end times vary though so it won’t be the same all the time

When you get on board talk to the councelors at the front of kids club to see if they’ll be able to figure out a way for your 4 year old to be able to go in there. The cut off for the nursery is 3 years old unfortunately. They do have a family restroom usually that the kids/ their grown ups can go in together in the kids club if that would make your little one feel more comfortable using that with your help. I’m sure they’ll be able to come up with a solution for you all :)

@@perksofharriet No worries! thank you so much for replying! i'm also a cat mum so understand the joy XD i must admit its getting abit frustrating now, i got the job jan 6th and they sent me an email 2 weeks ago that they probably wont have space for me until april. i turned down jobs to do this but now ive lost a lot of money wating for them ya know? im so excited to start but its a bit sad how they hired me before even having a job for me. i appreciate your videos so much they give me comfort when im feeling impatient XD sending love! xx

Hi there! Just make sure you’re child has one of the wave phones from the room with them and you can contact them that way. There is I think still a in app messaging feature on the navigator app that you can use! Just make sure to keep refreshing it so it regularly updates the messaging feature so you don’t miss messages! She might respond to you. But from what I heard they say about 14.00 per family member in the room per day.

Prepaid gratuities are a great option and at the last night of sailing you are given a questionnaire sheet to fill out, and four green envelopes for the waitstaff and the cabin steward tips . We always go prepaid and its always based on how many days your cruise and I believe how many in your party. Outside of the prepaid we tip an extra cash amount and it varies on how well the service was from each castmember. During the first reopening sailings when the ships were sailing around 33% capacity we paid up to extra 120% on top of the prepaid amount do to the fact that these cast members get compensated on tips and with low capacity cruise they were working very hard for a 3rd of the usual precovid compensation.

They don't have adult only cruises with Disney Cruise Line! They have adult only areas such as pool areas and bars etc that become adult only at night so if the adults want time away from kids that's possible but it's a family cruise ship company for sure!

Hi there! I applied in the middle of January 2018 and was originally due to have an interview in the February but it had to be rescheduled to the beginning of March so not that long at all really!

I did 4 contract from June 2018- March 2020, the last one was cut short because of the pandemic unfortunately
