I am writing the meaning of the words in my notes, then next to it spelling it out how it sounds when you say it then trying to say it that way: my polish friend thinks I pronounce them very well

Polish is hard only because Poles have no idea how to use letters, so their words look like klingon. Otherwise, sounds like Russian spoken by someone with nasal obstruction.

kava is kafa in Serbian, but Croats and Bosniaks that speak the same language say kava Croats and kahva Bosniaks, in Bosnia you can tell who is who how they say it.

my mom is polish and i have a polish accent whenever i speak English but i cannot speak polish for the life of me which makes me seen as very silly. i want to learn so that i can communicate with my mother as she has nobody to speak her mother tongue to. plus i won't be seen as silly anymore haha )

im ironically relearning polish as it was my first language as a child and then i moved to the uk where i was bullied. now as an adult, i find these super easy to latch onto and i can remember really specific strange words haha
