Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You helped me a lot with this wave tamp. I have bought Oracle Jet just few days ago and was very worried seeing waves when using single basket. Now I understand where it comes from. Double tap to short clean is a good tip too, didnt know about, was started and stoping manually. Ps. I dont want to be cheeky but am I right to hear very tiny Polish accent in your voice? 😉
Guilty as charged :-)
@@adammaik I wish my British English was as good as yours American 😁👍
@KejtDomowe and here we’re, pointing out my impossible to mask accent 😂
Do you notice any difference in taste between the first shot after turning on the machine and the second or third? I saw a Coffee Corner review where they mentioned the sweet spot for this machine is around the 4th or 5th shot, once everything is properly warmed up. Do you find that to be true?
That applies to almost any auto and super automatic. I always recommend preheating portafilter and cup once by simply running a cycle without beans.
@@adammaik Yeah, I see. Strange that he recommends to run at least 2 empty cycles, but 3 is most optimal in his opinion.
@@jurig5579multiple dry runs kind of takes the speed from making coffee :-)
Cool, sorry not able to fully watch vid. I am wanting to know about taggging, organising, working on beat grids etc and possibly more. I don’t know if this is built in or if apps that can cater to these needs can be downloaded. If you could go into the serious selling points and how this could appeal to the simple listening or the working musician / Dj? Thanks!
Thank you, my old Barista broke down and trying to decide on the replacement. Both look amazing but leaning towards the Oracle Jet... :)
nie ma za co :)
Nice video! Is the espresso hotter on the oracle jet than on the touch impress? I found espresso on the touch impress a bit too cold (even with heating cups and portafilter). Is this improved on the Jet? Hoping to get your reaction because you can make a direct comparison. Thanks!
Yes, it’s significantly hotter with more options in the settings menu. Thus said, I still recommend preheating the portafilter and mug by running a program without beans. Only for the first drink.
I am 75. I love my oracle jet. Easy to use. Easy to keep clean. I could never keep my former double boiler oracle clean myself.
I am still on the fence - I can get Touch Impress for 1000 EURO and Oracle Jet is 2000 EURO. What can persuade me to invest in the Oracle?
Can you please add links for naked portafilter and temper that you are using 🙏🏻
You’ll find them here www.breville.com/en-us/landing/craft-premium-espresso-accessories
Where did you find a white one? I’ve only seen the stainless offered in canada.
Give it time. Eventually you’ll see all 4 colors. They don’t release them in all regions at the same time.
Why did you upgrade from Touch Impress?
Mostly because of spouse rant. The dosing was very inconsistent from shot to shot, often asking to grind a little more, little more, requiring to press the lever 10-15 times in those micro adjustments.
Does this machine froth almond milk to be as creamy as regular milk?
It's lower protein count can make it challenging, especially in automatic mode. Manual mode allows you to incorporate much more air, with better results. Better but not ideal. Dairy still rules there.
I dont feel these type of machine ahould cost that much
The wavy tamp is common across all Oracles. Just run a warm up shot through the basket first as it needs to be a little damp so that the puck doesn't slip when the fan is pushing into it.
Only for Naked Portafilter? As it’s a no issue for a standard one. I have pointed out that normally we do run a cycle through it first.
@@adammaik yea, dont know why but for me its just a problem with the naked porta filter as well. Got an IMS precision basket and the original naked porta filter (black one tho) and was getting crazy when i couldnt get an even tamp. With the dampening shot its perfect all the time and it also heats up the filter basket which is a nice bonus
@@adammaik yeah a lot of people have the same issue with the standard one too. It might be that your naked filter basket is a little more polished than your standard one, making it worse. I've heard you can roughen up the sides of it with sandpaper to make it stick better.
What is the dose in the naked basket? Is it still 22g as per the original?
Sadly without adjusting the fan height you still get anything between 22 to 23.5
You can buy a basket that holds 16-18 etc. so easy fix if you want to
Whats the height of the machine with the bean hopper included? trying to figure out if it fits underneath my cupboards. Thanks a lot!
17 inches.
Old style barrista touch impress automatic tamper is better i see... i dont see the reason to buy oracle jet just to have better screen.
@@silwerston Well, the Touch Impress doesn't have an automatic tamper, just an integrated one. The grinder is also not as well built and is less consistent with no distribution. The Jet also has much better temperature stability and true volumetric output. In short, the Touch Impress is a good machine, but the Jet makes better coffee.
@fuzziestlumpkin as you can see in the video, the automatic one doesn't necessarily whip the coffee well if you also need an external tamper
@silwerston I have both machines, and the Jet doesn't need an additional tamper. He uses one in the video because the bottomless portafilter he bought isn't the same height, and he doesn't want to adjust the auto tamp fan to compensate.
@@silwerstonyou don’t need an extra tamp. The Jet is much better
I also don't understand why you can't see the updates. How do the developers envisage this? In the worst case scenario, an update like this could pass you by completely without you knowing the latest function.
I believe it’s their personal choice. I was psyched a year ago when this rumor was floating around for a connected machine. I thought I might be able to export or view on Breville (under my account) statistics for brewing. None of that is available. If machine collects any sort of telemetry, then it’s for Breville eyes only. And if it doesn’t, then it’s a missed opportunity.
I had an update last week to version 2.7 and sent a question to Sage - Im waiting for their advise what has been updated
@KejtDomowe from what I see heating element cycle and pre-infusion behave slightly different. It’s also more quiet, pump seems to work better. Good luck with getting anything from Breville or Sage customer support. They are often clueless. Btw. Love your YT handle. Very Polish :-)
Medium to medium light.
Our oracle jet seems to usually end up at grind settings 34-39. Are your beans medium or light roasted?
Mine are light roasted and I am from 30 to 40 usually
Mines are medium and I‘m around 36-40. Just received the „welcome“ package of freshly roasted beans. I will try the, this week.
Was thinking of buying one but now moving towards to rancilio Silvia pro x, Profitec move or ascaso duo plus
If you want more control and got the space for it, go for separates :)
I’m wondering why the basket in the naked portfafilter doesn’t line up like it should given it’s specifically designed for the 58mm Oracle machines. Any ideas?
@@drlodge in your personal experience? Or the use case of Breville one in the video?
@adammaik as in the video
Think you said that you're using the original basket in the naked portafilter? If that's correct and it's sitting lower it implies the tabs/ wings on the portafilter are set higher on the sides or are thinner. One thing to try... before grinding, wet the basket first and wipe with a cloth but leave the basket damp. The resulting waves you are getting often occur on the oracle series if the basket is dry. The dampness allows the grinds to adhere a bit to the basket and then themselves so the fan-tamp motion doesn't just spin the grinds over themselves.
The top and back panels are plastic, but the sides and front (both around the display and in the brewing area) are painted and polished steel. You can verify this using the magical power of magnets!
Thanks for this correction :)
Part 2 uploaded. Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/4_-vLW0j2Dk/w-d-xo.html
I wonder how easy the sea salt is to keep clean. I think it may yellow after a while?
I had sea salt items for years. Machine never exposed to direct sunlight and never any issues. But plastic is plastic. If you were to place it where sun blasts its rays for hours I’m sure it would alter its look over time :)
@ Thanks for the reply. It will not be exposed to direct sunlight. I was just wondering about it staying nice and clean looking. No coffee stains on it …
@ it’s quite resistant but we also wipe it clean after each use.
Love the music ! Sweetened condensed milk who knew! Yum.
Amazing review, waiting for the second part!!
There you go, its live :) th-cam.com/video/4_-vLW0j2Dk/w-d-xo.html
A puk sucker is the most stupid idea ever. A gadget that no one asked for, just use a knock box.
You would be surprised what a life saver the puck sucker is. Especially when you have family members sleeping in the morning or little children or pets (dogs). Regular knock box wakes up everyone causing chaos. But you do you...
@@adammaik Try scooping it out with a spoon, it makes no noise at all and works first time. Puk suckers are stupid.
@@MrRickytuk you’re allowed an opinion but don’t insult those that actually use it. Play nice.
I use my puck sucker. I am older now, and it is easier on my wrist
Did the machine keep shifting the grind settings in the long term or did that get fixed?
That still happens occasionally. The problem is the wheel itself. It’s stepless and often lands on “in-between” spot. Unfortunately machine vibration (during grinding) can change the setting -1 or +1.
Music distracts from the dialogue, other wise Informative video.
Why it didn't let you proceed with 22 setting?
Because there isn’t an option in the menu to choose more precise grind size. You can though play with the fan height to get closer to your preferred grind size.
@@adammaik - Sorry I don't understand. If setting of 22 is selected I assume grinder can do it, so why not let the user make the coffee with that setting?
@@bobby350z I might have gotten confused. is the 22 settings you reference to any part of the video? If so, let me know the mark, ill re-watch and let you know.
It's a great machine, there never was any doubt about it. The issue is the price. It's up there, it's a premium product for sure but it's not for your average coffee lover.
Any comment on the temperature of the hot water from the machine for a tea or Americano? I have the Touch Impress and this is a major design flaw with this unit. The heating element needs some form of back-pressure to generate enough heat - the temp of the shot it fine, but when the water runs through and out the hot water spout it doesn’t warm it enough to brew tea or have a meaningful Americano. My question is - does the Oracle Jet have a separate heating element for the hot water/Milk side of the brewing process, or can you do a side by side comparison of the hot water outlet temperature. Thanks in advance
What can I say. Anything else then coffee extraction on these is smoke and mirrors for me. Hot water temperature drops significantly the moment it leaves the water spout (I believe that thermojet tries to heat up more to compensate for that but I could never measure with a probe anything close to 200’F. Brewing coffee is more forgiving to brewing tea. From oolong to black to herbal - not impressed. From an engineering side, the location of the water dispenser is weird too (compared to Touch Impress). You have to move the cup or glass far back to ensure that water actually hits the cup. If you don’t get it right, water will simply run down the outer side of the cup. Thankfully I have a separate water kettle and tea infuser.
@@adammaik Thanks champ
Wow really nice video!
Thank you. I’m sorry that maybe tad too long :)
How long does it take to boot? In other words, how much time do you need to wait after turning the machine on?
About 4 seconds.
@@adammaik That is amazing!
Should I wait for the Thanksgiving sale?
I can’t tell if Jet will receive a discount around that time, if it does you might see $200 off, maybe more.
Not sure where you are but in Canada the Oracle Jet is already on sale 20% off msrp and breville is even throwing in a barista kit for free (they claim its value is $300CAD). Frankly I’m a little surprised they’re already discounting it but this much since it was only released a few days ago here.
@@rob767ER thanks. Will wait for TG sale
Ninja luxe > anything breville
@@rsakhaled Thanks for your opinion. You’re allowed to have one :-)
Luxe cafe offers pretty good value for money. But the cup quality workflow and user experience are much better on the jet. and probably all recent brevilles. Also, it's personal preference, but the Ninja is kinda fugly lol.
Thank you for sharing all entire details of the new Breville Oracle Jet.
You’re welcome.
Stop the back ground music 🎶 its annoying. The rest is great
No love for smooth jazz?
@@adammaik nope
@@adammaikMUSIC IS FINE, it’s smooth.
Adam, what is the height of the Oracle Jet? I'm seeing conflicting measurements online. Height including the bean hopper.
Hi there, Approximately 16.5in or 419mm. Hope that helps.
It's way too super automatic for me. Even the espresso shots in this video looks like espresso shots from a super automatic.. It could be a great appliance for those wanting to learn how to dial in espresso..
You can disable smarts in the menu and go manual for extraction and texturing.
The workflow is close to a super auto, that's literally the point of the machine. But the espresso is nothing like super auto coffee. proper stuff from a proper portafilter at the proper pressure.
thank you for this detailed comparison of these Breville/Sage machines!
You’re welcome.
Thanks a lot for this thorough comparative video. I've read somewhere that the Touch Impress has a cup-warming tray, but the Oracle Jet doesn't. Can you confirm?
@@BenoitBlanchon cup warming tray? If it does it’s not something advertised or explained in the setup menu . I rinse cups in hot water prior to using or send them into microwave for ten seconds. Not trying to be arrogant or disrespect you but i could care less for something like a cup warming tray. Jet is the first no fuss machine that has a good grinding, dosing and tamping system that extracts espresso every single time.
To me, it means that the upper part of the machine heats up so the cups you put there are warm.
Both machines are made of plastic. I dont expect top of the unit to provide substantial heat to take care of the cups.
May I insert IPTV lists on it?
No, Infuse was not meant to replace IPTV player.
Hi! Is there a quieter one between the Touch Impress and the Oracle Jet ?
Quieter model in operating?
@@adammaik yes, one less noisy while grinding especially ?
@@xaviermoo1009 it’s louder than Touch Impress but in a different way. Not sure how well that got captured in video but it doesn’t bother me personally.
In case you want to do the puck preparation yourself, can you switch off the automatic tamping? With the Touch Impress, this was always easy with a small adapter so that you could remove the portafilter without losing coffee. Thank you for the great video!
I havent seen in the options anywhere to turn off the tamping. Nonetheless, I have completed 80 shots since the unboxing and each of them extracted within 28-31 seconds with no hesitation. I'm highly confident that Breville did something right this time around.
If you want to do puck prep yourself then look at a different machine. You can get something with higher build quality for way less money plus a really decent grinder. The Breville will make great coffee but you pay a lot of money for the automation features. Even the Breville Dynamic duo would be a great option if still available. That includes the Dual boiler machine with a separate Breville smart grinder. It costs less than the Jet and will make better coffee if you have some skill.
@@MrRickytuk the idea behind the Jet was a machine that more than one person wants to use, older kids too.
Thanks for the in depth video! When you change beans is there a way to manually trigger the dialing in process? Or do you just pull a shot with the new beans and wait for it to say too fast or too slow? Also, would giving the jet an extra manual tamp help improve those tamps?
If the new beans are same as the old ones (machine can remain consistent) you can just pour a shot and see how it goes. Nonetheless there is a setting under options to go through dialing wizard again.
Is this good for light commercial? For a barber shop. And how fast can you make a coffe in? You should of done a speed test
@@argonovak3444 I’m glad you didn’t like it. I made it that way especially for you :)
@@adammaik what lol
The Jet would be great for a barber shop, especially if you are the barber. It would be fast enough for you to focus on your actually job while enhancing the experience for your customer. I just purchased one for the home and I am in love with the ease of use. I would love to be your customer, very thoughtful.
Thank you for posting this. I had a few comments: the instructions mentioned warming the cup. You said that it warm the Porter filter, which is not accurate. Clearly the hot water was coming out of the water spout not the group head. You also speculated that ground coffee was weight based, it is not it is based on the, filled volume of the basket. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you for pointing out few errors: I'm glad you found it useful. Apologies for the general length, lack of structure or off topic rant :) If you have any additional questions, let me know.
@@adammaik I hope you can answer 2 questions: 1) are you able to adjust the dose down to 18 g by adjusting the tamper fan? 2) can you easily adjust the amount of output for a double shot?-)40 g or milliliters out for example?) Thanks!
@@hollandpeter I'm planning on "playing" with fan height at some point (as of right now, I get 21-22g). As for adjusting the amount of extracted liquid? It's not something in the menu. Given that Breville machines tend to run much water than actually needed I'll research if its doable on the Jet. Unless you already have some hints to share.
@@hollandpeter @adammaik the grounds are indeed weight based according to the official Breville videos. 22g per dose and weighed by the machine.

In Infuse under share settings you can choose either direct mode or library mode. Library mode (slower) will allow you to customize home screen more and add custom backgrounds for categories etc.
