My Airgun Phase
Sweden
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 25 พ.ย. 2019
I go through phases where I have to learn everything about a hobby, get side-tracked with building things for it, and never actually getting good at the hobby itself.
This documents my airgun phase.
I'm not interesting in killing or injuring anything, nor do I care how fast or powerful an airgun is.
What I AM interested in is how accurate, silent, and ideally quirky an airgun is.
Also, this is a skill-free zone, where the vacuum of talent has been filled with enthusiasm.

Since I quite like the trigger on the Snowpeak PP20, I thought I'd make a few changes to cater for my needs.

Using a PP700 air tank on a PP20 target air pistol for easier filling.
มุมมอง 7023 หลายเดือนก่อน
Someone asked if you can use a PP700 air cylinder on a PP20 target pistol for easier filling, and ASTERISK YES, this shows how. You _might_ be able to swap the entire regulator part, but that's not something I can test right now. EDIT: nope, they don't match sadly.
Help required: Air Arms Combat trigger assembly

Ahoy! I got this funky looking Air Arms sidelever tap-loading air rifle from the 1980's, and the whole trigger system seems to be custom and non-functional. Any hints on where to buy replacements, or even clear shapes of the parts would be appreciated, thanks!
DIY EDgun Veles cocking slide, attempt 1

So, I had never heard of the EDgun Veles until last night, just before bed, which is a GREAT time to be inspired to try make your own version of. So I got up this morning, designed stuff before work, then 3D-printed it, and got to test it at lunch. Modern technology is awesome. Anyway, even though my prototype is absolute jank, I really do like the rear slide cocking mechanism, even if it does ...

Review: Baikal MP-514K air rifle - overlever action fun!
From the 1980's. Next step up from the FWB300. In the US they sell for $600 and up. Get yourself some better high quality pellets. HN, JSB, RWS to name a few.
Why has nobody ever made anything like that again
There are so many older airgun models I'd love to have a go at owning, I'd love to see some come back, even if for limited runs.
This gun is just a cheap Chinese copy of a Hammerli A P 20 PrO.
Hey, what scope mounts, fit on the rifle that fit the curvature on that, most are dovetails and have flat top, on a curved surface! None of the people reviewing list what or where they are getting what equipment; so what rings did you use, and do they fit that receiver?
Hey! This is one of the few airguns I don't use a scope with, sorry. But maybe dimensions help? I just checked, and my dovetail-to-piccatinny adapter adds enough height to make any rings work okay. The dovetail is broken in 2 by the magazine rising ~20mm above the rail. You get ~94mm of rail at the back, then a 17mm gap for the magazine, then ~38mm more rail.
That's cool we're u get em at an we're can I find one
Myth v Np02 . Which one would you go for and why?
I sadly don't have experience with either, but here's a video comparing the two! th-cam.com/video/ZiVTz1BRvms/w-d-xo.html
I bought a snowpeak PP20 recently and when I was loading a shot the lever got stuck in the air so to speak. Now I can't get it down and can't find a manual for it online either.
Aw man, that sucks, sorry to hear it! And yeah, more airguns should ship with a manual of some kind, or at least have a working PDF on their site to pull from. The closest I found was a parts diagram, but it sadly doesn't show how it works. There's a rotating safety clip on the left side, just below the lever, I unscrewed mine because it was causing some jamming, maybe give that a go? Otherwise might be time to just take it apart and hope you can see something obvious. th-cam.com/video/ZLJnik9JLqk/w-d-xo.html I know the gun lets you dry fire, so maybe something's messed up there? Anyway, lycka till!
Hej again, so I noticed that the Air Venturi Comp10 is the same pistol, and it actually DOES have a manual, not really what you're looking for, but: www.pyramydair.com/airgun-resources/manuals/AV-Comp10-owners-manual.pdf Also, did you play with the safety/dry fire selector and see if it helper?
@MyAirgunPhase So, this was actually a better manual when it comes to all the different screws. I took the gun apart partially and thought I solved the problem with the cocking lever gotten stuck but now the new problem is that all the air leaves the cylinder when I screw it on the gun so there is still something wrong. I think I need to take everything apart and figure out in what order things should sit to function properly. When the lever got stuck it was the back end of the pellet probe, where there is a bottom of a screw sticking out, that had managed to en up behind the hammer. At least I think that's one problem. I'll keep you posted when I figure it out.
I don't know how to degassing the air since I overcharge it. Shall I pop up the cap behind the gas tank? Thank you
You can try just dry firing it (cock and fire without pellets in), but if you've filled it too much, the valve might lock, and then yes, you would have to do something like slooowly unscrew the fill probe at the front, OR remove the stock and sloooowly unscrew the pressure gauge. Stop as soon as you hear air coming out. But be very very careful!
@MyAirgunPhaseI see, thank you very much!I bought it with 2300 psi which is too much air and dry firing does not work since it locked 😢
The trigger on the mine is very light and short travel.
Is there any info on disassembly of these?
i bought the gun a few days ago and the trigger gets stuck after firing once every few shots, i looked at all the springs and everything looks fine. what could be the issue?
You can still buy the seals let me know if you want one.
Oh neat, yeah, I'd be interested in picking up one or two, not sure how to co-ordinate this, but my e-mail address is the name of this channel at gmail, ta!
@MyAirgunPhasehard to make contact keep trying
World can make full auto with baca/lep/pac kind of ammonition, and no more lost power each shot like normal pcp gun
Dude… needless suffering. You can get clay to build up your left handed grip. Polymer clay is better. Retail names are Femo or Sculpy. Polymer clay comes in dozens of artistic colours and can be hardened in a home oven, not a kiln like real clay. Polymer clay can be sanded, filed and drilled. You can screw on some wood planks as filler and add clay for the final contour
I should rename this channel to "Needless Suffering". But neat, thanks for the information, seriously, I'll give it a go.
@ 👍👍👍 good luck. You can use two part epoxy putty, not the liquid epoxy. Korean Olympic archery love to add bits of these putty to contour their bow grip. I can see the need for it but my grip is “good enough” for my skill level. I’m hoping to pick up a used FAS6004 or a used (now over priced) IZH46
Another nice thing about this rifle is that you can mount a genuine Russian issue sling and/or bayonet on it. I have both now on my folding stock version of this rifle.
Nice! There's also the Yunker airsoft version that is insanely expensive because (I believe) it's mostly "real" parts. It's easy to go nuts with these.
I have one....need to send it to someone to fix it. Something small happened to. A part.
Doomslayer approves*
If you have trouble getting one of these to fire with a fresh Co2 cartridge and BBs or if you've replaced the magazine and it won't fire try this. Look at the 3:50 point of this video and look at the magazine release on t his rifle. Note how there's a gap between the magazine and t he front of the magazine release? If your rifle does NOT have that gap then it won't fire. Fiddle with the magazine until you get that gap. I had that exact problem with my AK rifle and it cost me $60.00 in gasoline to drive round trip to the store to troubleshoot the issue of the rifle not firing.
Why didn't you just order with a left handed grip?
Because I couldn't find that option anywhere at the time.
The PP700SA is an excellent pistol that can take the folding stock, silencer (with adapter) and a 3-9x40 scope on low mounts, shoots accurately as well. Stripping her down reveals a regulator with 10 belleville washers (())(())((, plenum is in monoblock and exhaust valve body moves air up into the rotating loading port, 1mm TP for UK. Hammer spring is adjustable once you remove the handle as is the trigger, a concealed hole in front of the trigger allows access to the regulator via an allen key though this is fiddly. Folding stock folds to the side to be more compact though is wobbly, PP750 sliding stock is better. Likes JSB Hades and shoots consistently accurately with them. Pistol can be preloaded with a pellet and cocked when ready to fire, also easy to de-cock. All in all a fantastic little pistol that puts a smile on your face when firing 👍
I've been trying to contact Tony McDaniel for a while now. North Carolina, I hope he's ok. He's a certified daisy repair
Fantastic ideas.

HI, I have PP20 and just bought a 5L tank to fill it, do you have a link to the connectors that I will need? Thank has a standard whip with it, thank
Annnd as what happens with unplanned quickie videos, errata: you _can_ screw the silver PP20 tube to the black connection on the PP700, and it would work, but you'd have no way to fill the silver cylinder on the PP700 then, unless you removed the gauge at the end ("you can see the pressure while shooting"), to replace it with a one-way quick-connect fill probe attachment thingy.
Glad I could inspire you to do this! 😂 Now I have to see whether the black cylinder is available separately...
I'm always just trying to help and share, so it was a good excuse, thank you! What I did with the PP20 cylinder was: removed the gauge at the end, and then replaced it with a one-way fill quick-connect port. That means I can't see the pressure while shooting, but I've not found it to be much of an issue, the gun is regulated after all. Good luck!
@@MyAirgunPhase It looks like the black cylinder would fit on the PP20 as you demonstrate. But are you saying it didn't work? Why can't you see the pressure while shooting? Does it only show the pressure while the fill port is pressurized?
@@jonwid The PP700 black cylinder as-is will not fit on the PP20, they don't have the same threading connecting to the gun itself. That's why you have to unscrew the bits where they attach to the gun and then swap them around. If you put the silver tube on the black connector of the PP700, that would work! But you would have no way to fill it, other than removing the gauge on the end and replacing it with a one-way fill valve. THAT'S what I meant, sorry, I mis-spoke.
@@MyAirgunPhase ah, that makes sense. Thank you!
@@MyAirgunPhase I misunderstood you because I was simply thinking about getting a PP700 cylinder only, if I could find one, and put it on the PP20.
Does the cylinder from the PP 700S-A fit the cylinder of the PP20? I'm looking for a gund and the PP20 looks like a dream to get started with, but the filling procedure is kind of a clusterf**k. I have two rifle style airguns and my own compressor and tank, so PCP is the way to go for me but the filling issue is really a problem. What were they thinking?
So, I made a junk little video for you showing that you can, with caveats: th-cam.com/video/PBLgA8d3Diw/w-d-xo.html I guess they wanted to keep it the same as other match pistols (I assume)? Ah well, it's a fun gun to tinker with anyway, good luck man!
@@MyAirgunPhase thank you very much!
You are just about the only one doing this in english. Thank you.
I just purchased the all black version of this rifle. However I can NOT get it to fire. I put the Co2 cartridge in and loaded the 18 steel BBs per the instructions .The safety was off and the interior action seems to be functioning okay but there's no noise and no BB getting fired. I checked that there was gas in t he cartridge and it did hiss when I backed of the cartridge tightening screw just a bit then immediately tightened it again. Any idea as to what may be wrong? Possibly a defective magazine?
Oh man, that sucks, I'm sorry. Fortunately it's one of the simplest mechanisms around, it's really just a thunk of metal inside the gun that moves forward and whacks against the valve. So two things you could check are: 1. with the top off the gun and the magazine removed, pull the internal hammer back and see if it releases when you pull the trigger 2. with the magazine out of the gun (and BBs removed!), try tapping the valve and see if gas comes out That should help narrow down what the culprit is. If both of those are fine, then the only remaining thing I can think of is that they're not aligned when the magazine is in the gun. Then you could put the magazine back in the gun (gassed, no BBs) and with the top off, try the action and see what happens. Good luck!
@@MyAirgunPhase Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately none of it got this rifle to function. Therefore I'm going to box it up and send it back although the shipping to do so will be about $55.00 = OUCH! The store I bought it from is going to troubleshoot it.
@@sirridesalot6652 Man, that sucks, I'm sorry to hear it! Hopefully that's the end of your woes... good luck.
@@MyAirgunPhase Well, I was able to hand deliver the rifle to the store I bought it from and they examined it and wow the fix was so simple! Once the magazine is installed you have to pull the magazine release towards the trigger guard to lock the magazine in place. Doing that and t he rifle works fine. Whilst I was at the store I bought a spare magazine and a genuine AK bayonet that fits the rifle. The bayonet came complete with the scabbard and attachment to fasten the scabbard ti a belt.
@@sirridesalot6652 oh nice, I'm glad you got it sorted, and even dressed it up a little!

A vexation free viewing experience--thanks! Hope your still making these.
I’m really confused as to why you’d buy a pistol without understanding all that stuff up front. I would have thought all the problems you had would gave come up in other reviews? And, why would you buy a gun from one manufacturer and want to try and fit bits from another manufacturer onto it? Maybe I’m missing something. I’m a total newbie to target pistols, and I’m avidly reading and watching everything I can about them just so I don’t end up in a money-pit situation. I’m really sorry for all your troubles you’ve had. I used to be totally impetuous and did exactly the same as you. Back then my cashflow could support that. Unfortunately now it can’t and I have to be a lot more careful. Good luck with whatever your next purchase is.
Hah, I addressed some of this in a comment just yesterday, maybe I should update the main description as I guess people are looking into getting into target shooting now! You nailed it: I had wanted a target pistol for ages, but couldn't afford the expensive ones. Then when I could afford this one, I jumped at it, assuming it would be like all the other airguns I'd gotten before. So I figured I'd make this video for other silly people like me, as a warning for people to research before they buy. It was an impulse purchase, then I was filled with regret, so decided to try make the most of the situation and resort to what I enjoy most: tinkering and modifying stuff. EDIT: Oh! And SnowPeak and Artemis and SPA are all the same company, FWIW Thanks for the comment, and sorry for the lousy video!
What’s going on here? It’s a match gun not a ratter
It's me showing the world what happens when an idiot can finally afford a 10m match pistol, without any prior knowledge or experience about it, and the difficulties that may arise with that. A live and learn kinda thing, and sharing so others in the same position might be forewarned. I always wanted a "fancy" match pistol, but couldn't afford it, then when I suddenly could, well, I jumped at the chance without doing the diligent thing of learning beforehand.
Best video ever…I was looking at this gun, searching for something quiet because of the neighbourhood, thanks a lot, 106 db, it is a fake silencer, so difficult to find the right gun, silencious and still with some power…the one who will make it will got a best seller…hoping for this move…nice try of you, very interesting, thanks
Remember that I'm shooting indoors, so it's "louder" than outside, but for reference, the quietest one I have registers at around 84 dB (Zoraki HP-01 with only one pump and a moderator on), and I'm sure most of that is the sound of the pellet hitting my target. So yeah, it's quiiite loud, and there's no moderation at all sadly. Good luck finding one!
