I Wanted To Scream Like A Little Girl.
I was sitting on the porch, contemplating the day, when I noticed the ground was wiggling. Aggressively. More aggressively than I would prefer.
Using this video and photos on image search, I'm pretty sure it's a horsehair worm. Thanks to @AnimalFactFiles I learned this was NOT a danger to any of my animals. Crickets, praying mantises, and other similar bugs are NOT so lucky. So I left it to wriggle away to whatever destiny nature intended.

Goose Meets Gosling | Controlled Flock Integration

We began integrating the two new goslings with Meimei and Maomao today. They met briefly last night but the geese were not eager on adopting the babies, so we're using a slow, controlled method. The babies, as the hot weather allows, are outside in the dog kennel where they can be investigated by the older geese without the risk of harm and get to know one another. We're hoping in a week or two...

@Dianna-pm2hv are you upset that I found her inside my chicken brooder in the garage or the fact that the tile in my bathroom is 72 years old and thus permanently stained? And that I have a 15 year old cat who is also adopted, so he spills litter everywhere because he's old?

I will keep that in mind for her next bath, thank you! I took her to the vet today and he said to wait a day or two for her next bath because she's so stressed. I have cerave hair and body wash for my son I could use.

kitten is somewhat relaxed, knowing there is glass there...
You can't see them all in this video, but he had three adult cats overseeing their interaction. Also when they were done he got cuddles.

I just started mine a few days ago... I couldn't for the life of my find any root clusters... So, I just grabbed what I thought looked ok? My greenthumb is probably a 7.5 /10. Hope I have better luck 🤞 Edit* upon further review, I found the clusters. In one cluster w/ a rubber band (in the bag for the top growth). Replanted, hoping for the best.
Good luck and let me know how your's goes. All of ours ended up dying. I'm not the best gardener, definitely still learning, but I've never had a problem with strawberries before this set up.

Our white Polish rooster, Mr Fluffypants, would hop on one foot, sideways behind the hen, then dance in a circle. Sometimes he’d stomp his feet repeatedly, if he had a treat for them. Sometimes he purred, or chuckled. He also had his favorites that always got treats first.
I haven't seen him dance like that but I am going to have to keep an eye out. Opie prefers our ISA Browns, Plymouths, and the Americanas. Sunny keeps bugging the Dominiques and cheating on his poor wife Karen. She follows him everywhere, is always trying to snuggle on or under him, and he just ignores her love.

His uncle started balding at 20, no one will question it 😉 Meimei is typically very gentle with her nibbles. Maomao is a whole different story.

The three of them hanging out is one of the highlights of my day.
My family had a white duck for 5 years in Barstow California. We moved to Irving Texas by a big pond and after a few years we released it at the he pond and it stayed and lived out it's long life. It grew up with 2 dogs and they flew in wooden animal carriers. That dick was like a dog and it got a male companion and ran the pond.

They probably aren’t watering them in the store, and they sit on the shelf too long so the plants die. I walked away from some gorgeous lavender at Costco just for that reason. The blooms were beautiful but, on closer inspection, the plants were dry and dying. I don’t mind picking up devastated plants from the clearance aisle, but I’m not paying full price for them.
That is my theory as well. This Tractor Supply does great taking care of the plants out front, but these boxed ones are in the dead center of the store, so I'm doubting they get as much attention. That's too bad about the lavender. A big lavender patch would look beautiful out in the yard and smell so good.

Booooo, I'm sorry to hear that! Do you have leaves on multiple or just one plant? We have just the tiniest green buds on the two.
i have raised chickens for over 15 years, 16-18 weaks is about right for their first egg. however judging by the side of that egg you showed they have probably already laid one egg prior to this, i have seen occasions where a chickens first egg was that size but most of the time the first egg or two comes out about the size of a large marble. keep them fed and lots of water and they will continue to lay an egg a day, the older and happier your chickens are the larger the eggs you will get, my current record for largest egg is 118 grams (for comparison a normal jumbo egg starts around 71 grams).
Wow, that is an impressive egg! I can't imagine it felt the best to lay. I've been hunting around in the yard and random nooks and crannies to see if I can find any other eggs starting the day I found that one. I've found nothing yet, but if they were laid outside we have plenty of mice, foxes, weasels, and just the other chickens who may have eaten them. We've gotten 4 eggs in the last 5 days. Water is definitely something we're keeping up on. It's been hitting the 80s here in Alabama, so they've got two smaller waterers with the big main one and more juicy treats.
