''Eighteen years after hanging my shingle outside my design shop on London’s Pimlico Road, the pieces from our London atelier are now housed coast to coast in America and on to the furthest parts of the globe. This booklet offers a glimpse into our furniture, finishes, designs and fabrics, which evoke a curated yet relaxed way of living, that distils into a modern classic design aesthetic. My collection has, at its heart, an appreciation for design details - be it a gilded finish or a particular curve to a cabinet. Our outreach and workshop programs are very close to my heart, and I am so proud of the craftsmen we bring together with designers in the name of creative endeavor.''

Cape Craft School - Campus Opening February 2026
Cape Craft School: an initiative to create an academy for high school graduates to learn a series of sustainable crafts and business skills. Enabling them to enter viable and sustainable employment, and ideally to go into their communities and set up small enterprises, employing a small team and creating a micro economy. At the same time setting up an initiative servicing this micro economy; creating a fully fledged sales and commercial platform with international exposure for the craftspeople and buying opportunities for the international community.
The initiative was born of the estimation that each salary paid in South Africa supports about 5 people, and the firm belief that by creating micro pockets of education and growth, a society can transform from within. High school graduates in South Africa have very little further educational opportunities, and this initiative would give them the opportunity to learn applicable skills and crafts that could be implemented in a business on a grassroots level.
The concept is to educate 200 students per annum in a usable craft and skill. These students would be empowered to enter their communities creating 3-5 jobs and create a ground roots transformation. Each year this could impact the lives of 2,500 people living in low income or poverty environments. We envisage that the most successful graduates would be able to build and scale their enterprise, as there is an in-built alumni network of skilled workmen who they could employ. The school will set up continued mentoring programmes, online sales platforms, international exposure, and a continual marketplace for the crafts created by the alumni.

Our library had her Wanderlust book and it was such a thrill to discover. Michelle’s style reminds me of my Grandma who led adventure tours and brought home all kinds of marvelous treasures- but Michelle does it with a more Jazz Age energy. Can’t wait for more books!
His house is here: th-cam.com/video/Ohjy9IzjstQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZPZi37kpXOUvhTiX
you are so so right, my house has nothing but antique furniture in it I bought it when you could buy it for next to nothing.
JAM! Pls do more TV if you can; we love to watch you work

Wonderful interview
thank you for this lovely conversation!
Thank you Justin. Would love you to list all the names and authors in your description box as reference.
The Grand Tour inspired generation.
I feel nature is responding to the pandemic threat by bursting verdantly.
Intriqued now. We shall have to see this temple. I wish I could travel and be here for a long stay.
Great interview.😊
As one member of their "very engaged audience", I must tell you - Susanna and Stacie respond promptly to comments on all of their venues. They are "quintessentially" professional, and happen to also be lovely people. Let's face it, we're all better off for their generous work. Our world is a more beautiful place, we have more joy, because of you all! You guys get it and make design personal and fun.
It IS a spectacularly gorgeous book! Every page is a dream; I shall enjoy it for many years to come. And these videos are fabulous. Thank you, Justin.
Susanna is so lovely that it makes me want to have a chateau so that she and Stacy can come interview me and have tea and cake and wander the gardens amongst the peacocks ! xo
Quintessence is my favorite channel. Always up to see something about Susanna Salk. Thank you!
Oh I really enjoyed watching the interview with Susana she is very charming I think the same way like her I believe that the things that you have in your home should tell a story I wish one day she can come to my home and get interview by her thank you guys just keeping doing things that make you happy.
I always say scheduled! lol (The British way of course though I am American,)
is she the lady who goes and visits ev body for her podcast?
GOOD LOOKIN MAN
he was a fabulous character, saints bless thee nicky.....
This is the total antithesis of my life but I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you (and I bought the Book). 🧡
I am so glad you interviewed Penny Morrison. I haven't tried making a lamp shade. I have made a lamp decorated with paint and a little decoupage to look like a Mackenzie-Childs inspired piece. I would save up and buy a lampshade if I found one in the US I could buy. Tell Penny to use the swimmer's wax for her candles. It keeps them straighter in the candelabra. I inherited my Mom's and great-great-grandfather's furniture. He was born in 1850.
Love your style. I was in London in 1976, 77 & 78.
Excellent interview. Subscribed 👍🏻
I wanted to know : 1. During lockdown ( across the pond ) How much & where does she buy & store her gin? Doesn't look like any corner stores nearby. 2. Christmas was great for me- My brother gifted me cases of wine ( which I store in my pantry - fair is fair. All but one bottle is drained. ) We've changed the way we purchase necessities whilst we are adoring our amazing homes- I happen to feel exactly the way Penny does- this has been a reset of our priorities and for the better. Hyperfocusing on our surroundings, is quite stupendous for folks in the home industries. Thank the Lord ! I personally never get bored in my home because it's FAB U LOUS. Seasonally, there are different projects that I can plan and see through. What are you working on Justin ? Did Penny inspire some projects for you ? 3. Justin: Can you relinquish the control like Penny did to Guy to recreate spaces ( laundry room to breakfast room ? ) I don't know... I'm kinna a control freak .....
266 Views ? Should have MILLIONS Very very good interview !!!!!!
