Where do u get heated pads
Not a Cotter pin but an R clip also the device relise on full lockup to maintain strength
Dudes be overthinking and complicating everything just to make a buck…
Call it by the correct name! Shackle NOT a “D” ring!
Just wait until it melts
@soggygasoline unless the world is ending it’s not gonna melt. Fpf printing has an extremely hot extruder to melt the plastic.
Just wait until it's exposed to California summer weather
@soggygasoline the worst weather in the world
Wow cotter pin what a new discovery
That is called a SHACKLE, it is NOT a "d ring".
😂😂😂😂😂
Where I’m from I’m more worried about someone taking them
R-key
When I was growing up, it would get into the negative numbers normally in the Midwest for winter. Snow would stay on the ground all winter.
You use a screwdriver as leverage and it turns….. not that hard
Fun fact abt the first gens, if you take out the headrests the seats fold into a bed.👍🏻
Just here for comments. Didnt disappoint
@@dans4900 they never do
Nice! Now the pin has a pin😂
Ever hear of anti-seize?
hmm i love it when children try to tell me what to do. you should tighten a shackle. it’s not about your poor wee fingers getting hurt or you being stressed. it’s about the integrity of the piece. so what if you need a shifter to get it off? you should have needed one to get it on. also is that shackle rated? doesn’t look like it
It's a R clip not a cotter pin
The pin is better, faster. The original had a hole too, on the handle side. That hole is for wire. You run a wire thru that hole and wrap it on the D ring so it can't back off.
I just put $0.02 worth of anti-seize on the threads
Grease?
Thats a Lynch Pin. Cottor pin is different
😂😂 ya he'll definitely need those its a Toyota
Use saftey wire like they are meant to
Hitch pin
There's a reason why there is a hole in the shackle screw.... use a screw driver to loosen it.... d ring... get outta here
Saftey wire is one of many things your dad never taught you
You can also just use anti seize like a normal person
You don’t tighten it down. You hand tighten it and then back off a quarter turn for it settle itself. Be the guy hitting a Clevis with a hammer when they need to pick something else up and your boss is yelling at you. You’ll figure it out.
A little never seize and a good ziptie has always been good enough for me.
So I should let someone steel them multiple times and that is less effort than and more cost effective than.... installing them properly... or using grease. This vodeo is crap
You can also just put a zip tie through the traditional style pin will keep it from backing out a lot cheaper then buy something that’s over priced for a simple problem
Anti seize
Hope you keep a zero degree sleeping bag for emergencies.
Shackle threaded pins are aupposed to be screwed toght before the load is applied. Leaving the shackle exposed to the weather reduces its life and strength. Vibration from driving with it dangling is only making things worse... Put it in the toolbox or under the seat.. you don't need it hanging off your bug twuck.
You can loop a thin zip tie so it can't spin and then you can snap it off if you need to.
You are one smart dude....great videos
Just stunning scenery
Or! Hear me out.. keep d ring shackles in a recovery bag and then!… Only get them out when needed instead of using them as an offroady lookin decoration!!
A Walmart in Lake Tahoe! Sacrilege!
Bow Shackle...
Everything else aside, the small pin at the end is not a cotter pin. Cotter pins are bent by hand and have to be unbent to be removed, they’re a more semi-permanent solution, what you have here is just a pin really. Not trying to harp like a lot of people seem to be, good luck and have fun.
U have to fully screw it in as thst is where the strength is
@@andrewhoughton8606 nah
Typical Toyota dude
typical
It’s not a D-ring, it’s a bow shackle. Fucks sake get it right.
Leaving it loose will also allow contamination into the threads and rust as well. Just keep them dry and inside the cab.
That kid doesn’t have any experience with jack squat. Dumb on so many levels.
thanks for the input
The hole on the pin of the SHACKLE (lol) is to run bailing wire so it can't back out
or......a pin
Just keep em in your recovery kit
