Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :) Makes perfect sense regarding the wheels locking up on hard braking in the rain, I hadn’t thought to apply sand on slowing down as well as on initial acceleration. (Of course you need to have sand left and not use it all up in the first 5 minutes as I tend to do!) And the tip regarding the Career Manager will save me a LOT of time, thanks!

@@GrandpaPlayingGames Glad to help! One of the next licenses you should buy is Manual Service (Which allows you to manually repair, refuel, etc your locomotive in service sheds and costs about half as much as the Career Manager) and/or Concurrent Jobs 1 (Which lets you do 2 jobs at once) to really start making a nice bit of cash, if you find the DM3 too much, you should get Multiple Unit (Allows you to hook up several locos with it at once and control them all from 1 loco) and maybe the DH4 (Which you will need later on regardless.)

I’m not so sure about the Manual Service option, from what I can see my Insurance is also covering fuel costs and replenishable items (i.e. sand) as well as the inevitable damage I cause for $100 a trip, unless I am mistaken? I was toying with the idea of getting the licenses for longer trains once I start running the DM3, since I believe it is more powerful than the DE2… not sure if I am yet ready to pull off multiple jobs lol. The Multiple Unit may be fun for later, too. The DH4 and other locos I’ll probably migrate to later as I like feeling I have learnt one engine before moving on to the next. Ultimately of course, I’ll end up with them all, DV is addicting :D

Thank you! This is really helpful as I had my eye on the DM3 as my next potential purchase. Sounds fun and a little more challenging :) But I think I’d like to first deliver the load I created in this episode and then unload it at the destination using the DE2 for consistency, so it may be a couple of episodes prior to venturing forth in a DM3 …. Stay tuned!

@@GrandpaPlayingGames Of course, delivering the current load with a DM3 breaks the flow, so delivering it first then buying the DM3 makes sense, however keep well in mind, since the engine is mechanically coupled to the axles (and can't be disengaged), as you go faster, the RPMs of the engine will still rise. (Even in the highest gear!) Meaning if you go too fast, you'll blow the engine, so make sure you control your speed, especially downhill! (Also worth mentioning that you accdentally left the sander on when you had trouble with the brakes on the boxcars! While a bit faint, when you apply the sander you can hear sand poor down. A lot of the gauges on the locomotives have a red light that will blink or stay on to indicate that something is wrong!)

Sounds like I better top up my insurance premiums! But I'm looking forward to the challenge :) Thanks for the mention about leaving the sander on, I have a very bad habit about that. And spoiler alert, even though I tried, I have a sneaky suspicion there may be a similar issue in our next episode...

Sneaky! That’s a good idea. Not sure that it would have saved me much time for this mission since the cars were at the adjacent track to the loader, but every little bit helps! I’ll try that next time, thanks :)

@@NinaFelwitch Yes, I got used to using the mouse cursor mode when in the loco, as I’m able to throw points (or switches) from within the cab in that view, and often forget to switch it back when trying to manipulate other things. I’m pretty sure you’re right that being in the view mode will make it MUCH easier! I’ll let you know in the next episode! :) Thanks!

@@NinaFelwitch Welcome! Thanks so much for the suggestions. You’re perfectly correct, I mixed up X with CTRL so probably wasn’t getting the best view to connect the air hoses. Great detective work! I’m excited to give that a try in my next Derail Valley adventure.

I’m discovering the game has a lot more depth to it than originally meets the eye, particularly with the new B99 build which introduces a TON of new features. Heaps more explorations to do :)

@BradySherrill Sorry to hear you are still experiencing some issues. A couple of suggestions: First, make sure you add the *dash* to your search in content manager, i.e. search for “CL-415” and not “CL415”, I think I could have made that a little clearer in the video. Second, I have heard that it can take up to 2 days from time of pre-order for the aircraft to become available in content management of MSFS-2020, so if you have just pre-ordered you may need wai a little while before it5 is available in your content manager. Third, where did you pre-order from? If not from the Microsoft Store, make sure you supplied your Microsoft/MSFS username when you pre-ordered, so that they can correctly point MS to credit the aircraft to your account. In case none of these suggestions help, I’m afraid I can only recommend you contact the supplier that you pre-ordered MSFS-2024 from and check with them. Good Luck!

I’m sorry to hear that, I’d be frustrated too. Just wondering when you pre-purchased the 2nd time was that also through steam, or via Microsoft store or other vendor? If not via Microsoft store, did you supply your Microsoft username (the one you log into MSFS-2020 with) when you placed the order? I would imagine they would need that in order to be able to ‘credit’ your account with the CL-415

@@Youtime11 Thanks for watching. Where did you pre-purchase your MSFS-2024 from? I have heard that, depending on where it was purchased it may take up to 2 days for your bonus to appear in content manager, although I did not experience it myself when purchasing via the Microsoft store. Also, make sure you pre-purchase under the same user account name as your MSFS-2020 is under, else they may have difficulty assigning it to you.

@TheJack4000111 Typically around 40fps with an RTX3090 card. When I am not recording, I use a program called ‘Lossless Scaling’ which doubles that, though.
