Thank you both for the education. This is the best video on replacing the door actuator that I have seen it is a job I’m about to do and you have made it much easier for me thanks again.
What oil do you use to replace.
Is it best to tilt it forward to drain it better
I use FRS, perfect for Europe, its totally empty non used Frequency's
@@VicGreenBitcoin What is FRS? 😁
@FrenchiesRoadTrips 'family radio service' bro, almost not used, low noise, high range in Euro and UK
Hi,car tilts to one side when parked but raises on normal height when on idle.Checked air leaks none,Should all sides lower when parked??
hi, i have a lr2 with 252k on the differential i put the car on a lift and the rear wheels wouldn't spin at all, the driveshaft isn't spinning what could be the issue ? I'd really appreciate your help if you an help. Thank you!
Hi, what symptoms where you getting before replacing? I have the same model and battery light comes on the dash after approx 30 seconds. Checked with a DVM and getting 13.89v while engine is running with lights on.
@@nicknicolaou8512 hello 🙂 that sounds like your alternator needs replacing. It should be above 14V while charging. I think also we had bad earth issues so might be worth checking out our other video on fitting another earth cable 🙂
As an Aircraft Engineer I suggest always checking it is possible to remove the filler plug before draining oil. Last thing you want is to find it rounded or damaged when you need to replenish and are then unable to drive car.
@@willxv226 Thank you for the top tip! 👍
Ben is an idiot 😂
i have a really weird thing happening with my EAS system. So one day randomly the entire system dropped to the floor. Started off with the basics as you said in the video. Checked the compressor to see if it was even filling the reservoir, which it was not, even though the system was empty the compressor was not kicking in to fill the reservoir. Brought it to a RR specialist and he said that it was the EAS relay under the seat. i bought a new one of those fitted it and still no result. we manually filled the reservoir with air and as expected the system operated fine but the compressor would not kick in when the pressure dropped below 125PSi. I then bought a reconditioned air compressor and once again no result. I bought the diagnostics tool for the EAS system and there was no faults, and even when in the diagnostic system normally it would allow you to manually turn on the compressor but that would not even work. i was thinking that it could be a pressure sensor but where is that located on the car? surely that wouldn't cause the compressor just to stop working. I'm in a hole at the moment and I'm stumped any ideas. (sorry for how long this is)
The pressure switch is located at the bottom of the valve block. You would have to remove the valve block to gain access to it. Personally, I would find someone with a Nanocom. If you can afford to get one for yourself, l highly recommend them. That way, you can see what pressure sensor is doing. I think when you manually activate the compressor, it should override the sensor and run (i may be wrong). I also think there's another relay under the bonnet for the compressor. it might be worth checking that. th-cam.com/video/NQAt7fdPMMo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=scCWzFLRPoSAhmGL Appart from that, I'm afraid I can't be much more help without looking at it.
@@FrenchiesRoadTrips i will have a look at that now. I checked that other relay and that was fine before and with this new compressor the pressure sensor should be fine but then again i have not checked that myself yet. A nanocom would be extremely handy to have as well. thanks very much for your help
Hi mate what’s the name of the dog guard unit? Thanks
@@harryoakes4977 Hello! The door is made by Barjo and the section between the dogs and rear quarter is a Land Rover dog guard. The metal partition between front seats and rear quarter we are not 100% sure what manufacturer this was, assuming Land Rover as they supplied them for commercial builds 🙂
Where can I get this cable? Looks a good mod.

A much faster way to clean the filter is to submerse it in some kerosene and use a soft paint brush.
Thanks for sharing, i need to do this Job on my freelander, IT would been useful to Show how to instal the New tensioner & wenn take off the pin holding the sisteme, since i assume that doing the job includes New Belt New poulie & New tensioner, let me know what you think my regards & long life everybody, cordialement Karl Diesel
Great vid guys. Will I have trouble with the engine timing as I will be removing the belt?
If you're removing the auxiliary belt (the belt ben talks about @4:30 in the video) then no it has nothing to do with the engine timing. The engine timing has it's own separate belt
Hello, My P38 2.5 DSE from 2000 has a strange symptom. When stopped for a few hours the front suspension goes up, when I open the door and put it to work and close the door immediately the front goes down. In these situations, the suspension indicates a high position and immediately returns to normal when the front goes down. It has a new compressor and height sensors and the valve body o-rings have been replaced. There are no leaks because it has already had the valve “ebay pipes” connected to each circuit. Thank you for your collaboration. Good trails.
Definitely a strange one, when any door is open the suspension shouldn't move, sounds more like a software or electrical issue, possibly related to either the suspension ECU or the drive pack. But apart from that I'm afraid I can't answer that one sorry.

Idiots missed the only part I needed the. The hub nut morons
Highly informative, however, filming during daylight might have helped...
Great Video, we have one here, 2000 P38, that the entry light is always on, even when level road or extended height is selected, have found small air bubbles at valve block hoses, but don't think that is the issue. Any ideas about the entry light on continuously ? Thx Joe
When you say entry light do you mean the EAS light is on the lowest hight setting permanently? Does it lift when you try raise it?
@@FrenchiesRoadTrips YES, LOWEST LIGHT, DOES NOT RAISE.
Right ok, when you try to raise it to normal hight does it start flashing? Entry light on is because its sat on the lowest setting and cant rais so thats normal for that light to be on, when you press to rais the standard hight light should start flashing. Sounds like to me it's not building up any pressure
@@FrenchiesRoadTrips STAYS ON CONSTANT. WE REPLACED REAR BAGS, STILL NO CHANGE ? WOULD SLIGHT LEAKAGE AT VALVE BLOCK HOSES CAUSE THIS ?
Small leaks can cause alot of issues with the EAS so would be a good place to start. Have you got access to a Nanocom? See if you can manual raise it with the Nanocom, the light should flash indicating its trying to rais, so this is confusing me a bit
Needed to add a Freelander 1 td4 in the mix too
you have a cb problem because the magmount is on the bonnet it should be on the roof or use a different mounted antenna
Where did you position the axle stands? And do you need to raise or lower the front axle to adjust the spring, to get the shock out?
Just an FYI if you get a bearing puller on the inside the hub race pull it out with one of those you won't bend the backing plate or just use a socket with an old extension smack the back of the race with that and a mallet while still attached is another way done loads like that work a treat also works with other hubs with similar set up
Your music is too loud when volume is set to hear your audio, and the choice of ‘tune’ most frustrating! Otherwise, a helpful video. Your viewers are watching to learn about a LR repair, not listen to infuriating music.

Excellent job, the video have helped so much to do my own alternator replacement, I'm happy because I got it. Thank you. So, by the way, my freelander have that plastic cover missing, that one to access the pulleys... Please, do you know that one part number?
Hi there, can I leave any of these cars for 8 months standing still and then try to use them? Will it be any issues?
The distance measurement are rubbish I persevered with the CB but didn’t bother with the 446
Love the range but the tax along with the fuel consumption just kills it, if you can afford to run it you will be driving something newer.
I’ve had a Freelander 2 i6 3.2 litre straight six petrol for over sixteen years 230 BHP powerful, quick for an SUV and never missed a beat, fantastic vehicle and probably one of the best and most reliable LR have produced.
On the pump you do NOT remove the torx bolts as these bolt the upper casing of the pump body to the lower casing. If you remove them the pump electronics will be exposed and if you pull on it when trying to remove the pump you will destroy the internals. All you need to undo is the 2 hex bolts to remove the pump.
Looks good👌👍
Beautiful place. Been many times💚
Handheld CBs are pretty useless in my experience. The range is just too bad. They really need an antenna that's too large to be practical, to work well on those frequencies. UHF is 10x better for handhelds
They are pretty good but only if you fit the longest antenna I’ve ever seen! 😅 Otherwise yes signal not great! Used to have UHF radios years ago but looking at another radio now 😉 keep an eye out for future videos!
