If you have to use ISO3200, s-log3 is your best solution. You don't need complicated color grading, just apply a s-log3 to rec709 correction lut to it.

18mm equals 27mm full frame, dynamic active crops in around 1.4 times, so it'll be around 38mm

Thanks for supporting,. I haven't tried the 16-50 mm kit lens, but in my opinion, your deciding factor between these two should be versatility (zoom vs prime), which focal length you mostly need, instead of sharpness.

Thanks for sharing, I was torn between getting the sony g 40 2.5 and the sony 35 1.8, and in the end I bought the latter, very happy about it!

My understanding is that you can customize your sharpness/ highlight/ shadow... so that you can have the same look but slightly different settings.

@@Iliares I think even if this lens really isn’t as good as the 7artisans lens, the difference could be neglected, you’ll have to put them side by side and zoom in to see which is better, so I’d definitely say the compact weight and size is more important

If you don't need ISO higher than 1600, then yes, A7cii has better performance. It always depends on what kind of shooting environment you're in and which ISO number you most frequently use.

@@ConstantineSPhotography Hello, Today, I compared the Sony A7C II, ZV-E1, and A7CR as closely as possible at the Sony Store. I shot portraits at around upper-body size, and at ISO 100, all cameras produced good results. Since the ZV-E1's second base ISO is 1600 when using no picture profile, I set all cameras to ISO 1250 for consistency during the comparison. I was somewhat surprised to find that the A7CR exhibited less noise, especially around the eyes and darker areas. Although the A7C II also delivered great results, the A7CR performed the best in terms of noise control. On the other hand, the ZV-E1 showed noticeable noise in comparison. For the third test, I used the ZV-E1 with a Speedlite at night. The image quality at ISO 100 wasn’t bad, but when shooting full-body photos, the ZV-E1's resolution felt somewhat lacking. Additionally, at ISO 400, while noise reduction improved the image, it looked slightly softened, resulting in just average quality. In the end, I decided to purchase the A7C II and sell the ZV-E1. My decision was influenced by previous noise tests of the A7C II conducted by you, which aligned with my findings today. Considering that the A7C II’s second base ISO is 400, it seems like the most suitable camera for me. It also showed significantly better noise control compared to the ZV-E1 at ISO 1250. I previously owned the A7M4, but since I was focused on video, I became dissatisfied with its autofocus performance on moving subjects and its limitations in capturing brighter footage at night. That’s why I decided to sell it and get the ZV-E1. At the time, I didn’t realize that ISO 1250 offered decent noise control. Given that I have bright lenses, I now believe that this level of performance should be good enough for night video shooting as well.

Thanks for sharing, I'm glad you're satisfied with the a7cii. I used to be a74 user too, but my reason to switch to a7cii is because I don't need two card slots and a7cii's compact size fits my need better. And of course a7cr is a great choice, but it's also much more expensive, I would say a7cii is of the best value considering every aspect.

Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you find it helpful. I think the strength of ZVE1 lies in s-log3 as well as s-cinetone. If you mostly shoot with pp off, or if you don't need super high ISO (like ISO12800 in s-log3 or ISO1600 in PP off), then A7cii is definitely a better choice. For still images, I don't think noise is a problem to worry about, but resolution is a problem especially if you use an apsc lens on zve1. I'm not familiar with flashlight, so I probably can't answer your question regarding that, but according to your description of your needs in other aspects, I think A7cii's low light ISO performance suits your needs better.

@@aarybalchenko if you take a lot of walking footages, zve1 dynamic active steadyshot is very useful, you don’t have to post processing for better stability, but otherwise I would say both cameras are similar in terms of ease of use

@@aarybalchenko I keep the a7cii as my main camera because I take more photos than videos. The strong points of zve1 are stabilization, slow motion, and low light video quality, these are awesome strengths, but I think a7cii is enough for me and has more resolution for photography. It really depends on what you value more, photography or videography?

@@ConstantineSPhotography I have always been more involved in photography, and when I started trying to shoot video on my old Sony a7mIII, I realized that it was very inconvenient to do so. Deep down, I want to try to immerse myself in video now, and the ability to shoot video in extreme low light seems very tempting. My main question is how much worse does the a7cii shoot video in the evening compared to the zve1. Or, on the contrary, does the a7m3 not give a much worse picture in the evening, so that this can be neglected and as a bonus get excellent photo opportunities? Personally, I need a camera for every day home amateur family photo and video shooting.

@@aarybalchenko if you want to involve more in video, the zve1 is a better choice, but remember always use a full frame lens for photos on zve1, because apec lens for photos on this camera is really bad.

Thank you very much. For night shots, I always shoot in s-log3 iso 3200, aperture and shutter speed depends on how I can keep the metering to over expose by about 1.7 stops.
