Im back to blurays and dvds myself. The only stream i watch is youtube or documentsries on netflix sometimes, but movies i buy. Overall this xmas i bought around 50 bluray movies, eight 4k discs + several film noir dvd boxes with 28 movies each + 4 old tv series. Germany has some fantastic editions of rare russian scifi stuff from the 50s an 60s. Im sick of netflix , amazon prime and american mainstream modern woke recycled crap. I think the 100+ movies i bought this xmas will be enough to get me tbrough the year without having to even remember streaming movies exist.😁😇 Im in portugal so i buy movies from the uk, france, spain , germany etc. i used to buy a ton of oriental cinema from japan, south korea and china but the region lock on bluray players made things more difficult. But i buy movies from australia as they are not region locked over there. Theres a ton of awesome movies and series all over the world and you dont need to be stuck with hollywood or anerican mainstream fast food visual crap. Maybe its difficult in america to search and buy outside but the world is filled with awesome movies and series way better , more creative and less politically correct than anything hollywood tries to push these days on people making people think there are no good movies outside hollywood and the modern american system. There is good stuff out there if you search for it away from hollyood.

A bunch of drug addicts became super rich and people were surprised that the “fame” killed them. It wasn’t the game that did it. It was the money and their drug addictions that killed them all essentially. That being said.. the grunge rock movement is the best era of rock music in history imo. Can’t beat the 90s.

I don’t know this guy, but I totally agreed with his comment. Just let me say it might get a little lengthy. I’ve been catching so much negativity because sometimes I get in depth. My parents could’ve been the poster child for the 60s. There was always something on the stereo from Sabbath to the Bee Gees. From K.C. & the sunshine band to Deep Purple of course when I was in ninth grade, I guess 14 years old I liked Mötley Crüe at that age. I didn’t understand it was glam. I just thought it was rock ‘n’ roll but then they got a little too funny and my taste and then I got introduced to early metallica then we are lucky enough to have Megadeth overkill slayer exodus Pantera breed the motor city madman anyway it’s almost like grunge took down our mighty rock ‘n’ roll but in the end we reign supreme!

Heres my opinion on grunge. Heavy metal started the drug problem amongst bands. Bands would experiment drugs as a group; For fun and also creativity. Subsequently resulting on a influence to the audience. During those times it was ok to use, cause it was cool. That was the narrative that it was set. Drug addicts, or alcoholic parents passed it on generically, or by abuse to their kids. Thus creating a very suppressed generation from the drug addiction problem that heavy metal created. in addition to that; a very shitty and depressing whether (Seattle) Puff the birth of grunge. There you have it. Best explanation I can come up with.

Grunge came about because musicians knew hey couldn't top the talent that had come before them. They started a movement to make bad music popular, and it still lives today. Used to be only the best made it to the top but now the mediocre sit on top.

Grunge was a term from some writer for a magazine.

I'm glad it's over and a lot of those bands were swe're rated but so were some of the bands from the 80s, but it was more fun.

When something new comes out it’s innovative and artistic. Then if it gets popular, record executives try to emulate it and they oversaturate the airwaves with copycats. Some of the copycats aren’t bad but most are cookie cutters and one hit wonders. Not all musicians are artists. Some just learn how to play and get hired to paint by numbers. You don’t have to be skilled to be an artist and becoming skilled doesn’t make you one. There are better guitarists out there than Kurt Cobain but could they have written his songs? No. It’s kinda like the difference between following a recipe and inventing a new dish. And as time goes on it gets more and more challenging to create something new.
