We're talking 2wd right? I don't think the $98K salary number is wrong, but why are people constantly willing to throw away nearly 10% of their annual salary on interest. It's insane when you put it that way. Even if it's spread over 6 years. You could just save for 4.5 years, putting $760/month into an HYSA. Buy one that's only 2 years old and in excellent condition and it brings down the savings to under 4 years. Why are people so willing to just give away $8k?

Nobody is financing these. Most are for business with 179 deduction and cash payment.

• If you can only come up with a small down payment up front, you can't afford this car. • If you have to finance it over 3+ years, you can't afford this car. • If you can't fight your impulse to buy this "cool ride" because you have no patience and want it "now", you can't afford this car. • Better yet, be an adult and learn to deal with your emotions instead of buying one via financing, with a paltry down payment because you want it now, now, now! ...like a child. Save up for the entire car purchase. Once you do that, go to the dealership focusing on getting the OTD as low as you can before you even remotely discuss financing or how you are going to pay for it. Don't even mention you can pay for the car in cash. Try to use the financing dept breakdown as a tool to negotiate even more if you can. Then pay the car loan off the mext month with the money you have saved. • This is a hot car, so negotiating is highly likely non-existant. If this is the case, focus on getting at least 75% of the cost saved up before you go to the dealership.

The new 4Runner is following the same path as the new full size Broncos. My local Ford delaer was marking those up by $10,000 as a "market adjustment" when they came out. Now they have rows and rows of them sitting there in the parking lot unsold.

All it is is 1,200 payment. everything else we all do already put gas pay insurance maintenance. You spend it on nice things and enjoy life or dumb stuff and still enjoy life. At the end of the day we are not taking the money with us when we die.

If you have a business...you can write off the tax ...it could bring down half the cost of the car over 5 yrs ( tax depreciation)
