Never fly in the day of!!! Even if you have to take the latest flight the night before, if you’re not getting air through the airline, DO NOT fly in the day of. We had a Southwest flight completely cancel our flight and they couldn’t rebook us until much later. We had to switch airlines. It was a hot mess.

Question did you have any future cruises booked with Royal Caribbean when you won your bid?

FYI, from what I have read, as of January 2023, the Chat feature is free of charge rather than the 1.99 per day. Our cruise is next month so I have not verified it myself. But I have read it on many sites on the internet including the Royal Caribbean website.

I agree RC beeds to do a better job with this Royal Up! I called RC to ask about the rooms on the Royal Up and they told me that they have different rooms available vs what the cruise can see. They need to be sued so that they can come up with better rules for this Royal Up.

How timely were chat messages delivered/received? I had heard that there were delays and people weren’t getting messages for sometimes hours after they were sent. That would really defeat the purpose if you’re trying to find each other or meet up for lunch. Can you please advise if you experienced any delays? Thanks

Do you think taking the very first flight of day will help? We cannot fly in the day before and can only fly in the day of. We plan to take a non stop flight starting at 6 am to miami. Do planes tend to cancel the very first flight of the day? Or if it happens will we be on another plane that is also an early flight? Thanks in advance ☺

Hello ran across your video seeking info on Star class. . About the Royal Up program had 3 B2b's out of Singapore in June & July 2022. We bid on each sailing, approved twice. Each bit was under bidded yet we won twice. I had the idea moving to suites we'd receive double points for each night sailed. This was not the case just one point per evening sailed. sure we enjoyed the suite cabins. Needed the extra points to reach Diamond Level from Emerald. Most likely will not take part in royal up again. Happy belated Birthday...

Really really sorry you experienced the things you did. I wish there were some way to screen for those kinds of people and not allow them to sail or be employed. Hope you have better experiences in the future.

I really liked your review. I have sailed Royal Caribbean, Carnival and NCL (only once) but I have been loyal to Royal especially since I am so close to becoming a diamond 💎 member. As a black 48 year old cruiser my husband and I also come across some rude passengers as well. I personally can not recall having that experience with crew members but, I hate that you and your family had to experience that. I know exactly what you mean I live in Georgia (Cobb/Paulding county) I am quite familiar and have experienced racism, micro aggressions etc. You are so correct we are here to stay. I absolutely love the Oasis class. Last week my husband, myself out 18 year old son and 20 year old daughter boarded the Independence of the seas it was a beautiful ship but after experiencing the Oasis and the allure the independence in the past I realized that I really missed what the mega ships had to offer. In addition, my young adults who grew up attending Adventure ocean and the teen programs felt like they weee too old for the kids program but too young to attend the clubs and the 18+ activities. I really felt bad for them. The independence lacked activity no shows, barely any entertainment staff they are still dealing with the shortage of staff and will probably have to deal with that for a while. I still love cruising especially with Royal Caribbean. Thank you for a glimpse into your family vacation.

This is soooo sad. I am tempted to send this to RC. I went on a RC Cruise twice! Both times we were met with nothing but the most hospitable care and attention. The crew was always fabulous.

We passed on making a Royal up bid. I checked and no higher grade rooms were available on our sailing. Even if they had been we would have given up the large aft balcony we hope to enjoy as much as possible.

Hey loved the video but just a word of advice from myself who works for an airline.. please please please do not fly the same day as a cruise. I literally had to tell a lady last week that her bags didn’t make the flight and they wasn’t going to arrive until after her cruise ship left. So she literally went on a 7 day cruise with NO clothes.. no matter how early you think you are, you never know if a flight will get canceled, or if your bags will even make the flight.. it’s just wise to fly in a day or even 2 days before incase something like that happens, there’s time to fix it.. I literally see it every single day! There’s always 1 person who’s bag doesn’t make the flight and they are going on their vacations with no clothing. And the airline I work for doesn’t send bags to first ports… they only authorize 100 bucks each day of your cruise for up to 600 dollars, and you don’t get that until you return. You never want to take that chance. Just a little friendly advice. You rather be safe than sorry. But other than that. Keep on cruising!
